I first got to know Emily via a referral from a GLBTQIA party at an organization that I had worked with. I asked if this organization could give me a 'go-to' person for a family member who had looming legal concerns. I asked that this referral be open-minded, legally competent, kind, and affordable. My family members case was rather convoluted as it involved the misuse of his identity for many decades. Thus, causing false public records --and hell of that sort. He is somewhat vulnerable as he is cognitively-impaired in some areas so he needed this help. I needed some way to assist him-- in protecting from some continuing abuse while helping him to try to clean up the results from some of these former misuses (where it could be done). Unfortunately, his issues made his life hell and the Federal government was partly to blame. The organization I was dealing with gave me three possibilities, I followed up with all three. I and my family member --decided to go with Emily because she meant with all the criteria we had asked for --and a few areas which we had not asked for but cautiously hoped for. We were NOT disappointed with the process, nor the results we got/sought out services for. Emily made things happen in a very concise manner and adhered to a time line with little fuss, pomp and circumstance. She made it clear what she could and could not do given the current laws. She made things relatively easy, which in-turn, made the process less hassle and more results-oriented. She was willing to work with us at the level we needed, on a timeline that worked for us, and a cost that was manageable! It is my family's opinion that when it comes to the responsibility of legal concerns-- that it is very hard to argue with the success that Emily brought to the proceedings. I would for this reason highly recommend her to anyone who needs help in planning for family, estate matters and fiduciary concerns. I have found her to be extremely level-headed in times of duress. Fair in her approach to problem-solving and resolution. I have found her completely competent. When she was uncertain, she sought the answers out which proves to me that she is the right person for the job (she did not cut corners and take the hack route). She advocated! We found her empathetic to a reasonable point with our various personal issues. On a personal note: My family liked her brand of "roller derby queen takes on the jerks of the world with a moderate temperament of professionalism whilst in the midst of the process". She reminds me of a 2020 version of lady justice doing hell on wheels. My impression of her mentality is that, she is one third Xena warrior princess, one third original pop princess, punk-rocker chick Annie Lennox, and one third something that I cannot put a description too as of yet. In short, this unique combination of traits makes for a pretty hardcore justice seeking professional. I am sure one day it would be nice to see her sitting on the bench ---and I sincerely hope that will happen. I think she would be a very fitting person to rock-the-robe in a very unconventional way. After searching around quite a bit, we chose to work with Emily Mowrey for our estate planning and a bit of real estate-related needs. We can't recommend her more highly. We contacted Emily to handle my late brother-in-law's estate. As we live in San Jose, CA, and my brother-in-law lived in Concrete, WA, we were concerned that the probate would have to be handled remotely. It could be complicated by the fact that there would be multiple notarizations and mailings required since much of the work would need to be done in Skagit County, WA. The My Case software provided by the office was a useful tool in coordinating all the documentation. We met with Emily in person in June of 2023. We were impressed that she was friendly, knowledgeable and detail-oriented. We began the submission of documents for the probate process. Throughout the months of probate, Emily, Kayla and Cindy worked as a cohesive team and answered any questions in a timely manner, typically within the same day. Each step of the process was clearly-explained. We found the fees to be reasonably-priced and sufficiently detailed. The probate was completed within 6 months which was shorter than our expectations. The final probate documents and the letter which Emily sent provided closure to the entire process.
