The changes to the regulations of wills, representation agreements, and bequests mean that you should seek out a specialist to help you navigate this complex legal field. She took the time to explain the process and all the BC requirements and idiosyncrasies (SO different than the laws governing such documents in Washington state, where I moved here from. Our US documents didn't translate to BC laws, necessitating the drafting up of new paperwork). Anyhow, Kristen was super patient with me, explaining everything to me, often repeating details (a few times!), and helping refer us to other resources we inquired about. I can't stress how much peace of mind it provides, especially as a parent, to have these documents done - and done correctly. Kristen responded to my emails and calls promptly, and I liked how they offer free notarization to their clients (note: other firms we used all charge for notarizing documents).
