The fam and I got to take a quick covid-cation here. The houses are all pretty large, with great open floor plans, yards, decks out front and in back, big driveways and garages for all the toys you could ever need, and amenities that let you use them when you want. There are two rec areas in the neighborhood, both incredibly well appointed with playgrounds for kids, private beaches, bbq grills, and boat ramps. Everything was well maintained and very clean. In normal times they also have events and entertainment for residents too! People were practicing social distancing and being quite respectful of each other. It was nice to be able to enjoy these types of spaces without concern. "If I had a million dollars" I'd sure as heck buy a house right here and keep it for the fam for years to come!

Such a wonderful experience! We hosted a celebration of life for my mother in law here and we could…read morenot have found a more peaceful and beautiful place to honor her. Russ and Debbie, the owners, were so accommodating, enjoyable, helpful and easy going; people you could just spend all day talking to. There are some RV spaces to camp here so we stayed on site to make set up a little easier on the day of the memorial. We had family that rented a quaint one bedroom cabin on site as well. There is an outdoor covered kitchen area with a huge refrigerator, which allowed us to bring food in advance and prep the day before. It was all so convenient! They were in the path of the Dixie fire, so the drive out there is baron, but don't let that deter you. Once you arrive, you are surrounded by green trees and stunning scenery. It was a perfect hidden gem. We are so pleased with our entire experience at lassen meadows and would absolutely recommend it and use this venue again for other events.

Stuck in Susanville for a long work project I was thrilled to find this golf course (or any golf…read morecourse) in the area (the next closest one is about an hour and a half away I think). Susanville is about 4200 feet elevation and was just coming out of a very wet winter. In mid-April 2017 it was still a bit chilly out and wet in a few areas. I really enjoyed this course. Beautiful views of the mountains and lakes on the property. The front 9 is fairly wide open, basically making a circle around Emerson Lake, while the back nine reminds me a bit more of the tree-lined course in Monte Rio. It plays about 5900-6400 yards long. It is not a high-end resort style course but was perfect for my needs. There is a large putting green (though the grass on the green was a strange texture -- might be different in summer). They also have a driving range (mats) and pitching area. The driving range is full of various local wildlife. The gentleman at the proshop was very nice. The restaurant/bar is currently closed while looking for someone to take it over. Prices were great while I was there -- they had a "spring special" of $15 for 18 holes (another $15 for a cart).

The Golf Course was an excellent condition and it is challenging enough for a low handicap golfer as well as forgiving enough for a relatively high handicap golfer. That is a rare combination. We get to our first hole of the day and one of the owners comes up to our group and states that we needed to wait and let the groups behind us pass, we had no problem letting them pass until we're at the end of the first hole and the owner comes up to us again to tell us that we again, needed to wait and let the groups behind us behind us pass. This went on for 4 holes until they finally let us skip a couple holes. We in total waited 45 minutes to an hour in all, waiting for other groups to pass us. What should've been a 2-3 hour day, turned into a 5 hour day. Super bummed out with the customer service and definitely do not recommend if you have a group over 5.
