Came here on a Friday around 12 noon. There were only a few individuals ahead of me. Purchased/review: 1pound of lechon- 7/10 a tad bit salty for me (many reviewers also said this. Instead of the normal lechon sauce, they give vinegar instead.) Paksiw (lechon with a soup base)- 1/10 this was very different from what I am used to. This was watery and tasted like adobo. I was so excited when Bai Cebu Lechon opened in Roseville! Any time a Filipino restaurant pops up nearby, I have to check it out. I had been hearing how busy they were and that they sometimes sold out of food, so I came with a game plan... arrive early! We showed up around 10:30 a.m. before the lunch crowd rolled in, and I'm glad we did. The restaurant is clean, cute, and has plenty of seating. It looks like they even have a stage for live entertainment, which would make for a fun dining experience. Ordering is cafeteria style (point-point) so you simply choose the dishes you'd like. We ordered the lechon, pancit, squid, a vegetable dish with eggplant and squash, leche flan, and another dessert made with sweet corn. The highlight of the meal was definitely the lechon. The pork was flavorful, and the skin had that crispy crunch every lechon fan hopes for. The leche flan was also good. It was firmer than the homemade versions I'm used to, but it was still a tasty dessert. Unfortunately, the pancit was the biggest disappointment. It was extremely salty...salty enough that everyone at the table kept reaching for their water. We asked if they had calamansi or even lemon to help balance the flavor, but they didn't have either available. I was honestly surprised since calamansi is such a staple with many Filipino dishes. We mentioned the saltiness to the staff because I'm hoping it was just an off day. I've noticed a few other reviewers mention similar experiences, so hopefully it's something they can improve. Overall, I'm still happy to have another Filipino restaurant in Roseville and will definitely give them another try. For reference, Bai Cebu Lechon is located next to the Almond Tree Lounge in Roseville's Harding Plaza. Parking is super easy, barely an inconvenience. We, the Cebuanos are very proud of our lechon Cebu (roasted pig) in the Philippines. BCL doesn't cook the whole animal but instead does a rolled pork belly stuffed with spices then grilled to perfection in a patent pending charcoal oven. This version tastes as good as the Suisun City location. Crispy skin and succulent meat. When in Cebu, we eat our lechon with pusô (hanging rice). Here, in the USA, we settle for plain rice, as logistics and the skill set in creating pusô are both lacking. The other dishes regularly served are the Bam-i (50/50 pancit canton and sotanghon) and Dugo-dugo (pork blood with pork offal & bits). The latter challenges an adventurous palate if you haven't tried it yet. :) They have consigned Filipino pastries like hopia (flaky pastry with filling), maja blanca (coconut pudding) and Chocolate Monster (moist cake with custard filling and thick fudgy frosting). If you had to try one, sample the chocolate cake first as this is a legendary Cebu dessert popularized in the 80's. Food was really good!!! Now I'm craving again. The crew needs more experience to handle the customers more efficiently. Less time waiting is the management's aim and that's the gripe of most reviews. I really only want to give 3.5 stars but I rounded up instead of down. We went to try this new place for lechon. We arrived a few minutes after 10am and there was a line already. It took about 20 minutes for us to place our order and pay. We only ordered the lechon. The price is a bit high at $22/lb. The meat was really juicy but a bit salty as other reviews stated. The piece we got had really crispy skin that we enjoyed but that too was a bit salty. Also be aware that if you pay by credit card there is a 3% service charge added to your total. read more

I told myself that I will not visit Bai Lechon - Roseville while they're in their first few days opening because I'm pretty positive that lines will be long and true enough, I was right. But didn't regret my decision of coming. Bai Cebu Lechon- Roseville opened last Thursday, June 18. This Bai Cebu Lechon location is by far the biggest of the 3. This location was designed to have music jamming with a band from 6 - 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Last Friday, we came twice- for lunch and for the show in the evening. The show in the evening has a $15 entrance fee which includes a free drink. It was totally worth it! The complex itself has a huge parking space. The inside of the restaurant was simply decorated with Cebu posters and signages which reminded me of my younger years. They are open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 to 10:00 pm with live band on site for a $15 cover charge. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. Me and my friends came in last Friday about 30 minutes before closing time and line is still long. But when you come in on opening days and you know there's going to be really long line, patience is the key. On to the food - for this visit, of course we ordered their renowned Lechon belly ( crispy skin and tender and juicy meat that is seasoned perfectly), dinuguan ( pork blood soup with meat), pancit (by far the best I've ever tasted). As per Bai Lechon, their menu will change daily to give variety of options and avoid having people loose interest due to repetitive menu (make sense). Local businesses thrive by the support of the community so we all need to be patient and fair in reviewing. If you like the food and gave a good description or review of the food then it's not fair rating them 1 or 2 stars just because the line is long and you waited a long time. So please be fair! I heard about their opening and I was so excited about it because there is a new filipino restaurant here in Roseville. I went Friday since their opening day is Thursday and still long line from outside. Owners are very warm and friendly. Overwhelming support from other nearby cities (Rocklin, Lincoln, Elk Grove) I was in line for about an hour but it's okay I'm so excited to try their lechon belly. So I ordered mango atchara, chorizo, paklay and of course the ever famous lechon belly. Im about to buy their dinuguan but I told myself probably not today beacuse their dinuguan is very soupy. I had a bite of mango atchara and it was okay, their chorizo is okay too not a big fan, paklay is good and their lechon belly is really good not to much of a fat just okay but it's very crispy and delicious. The ambiance inside reminds me back home, friendly people gathered in one place, they also have live bands every Friday and Saturday night that I will try eventually. I intended to swing by during their Grand Opening but observed the closing time at 3PM. I managed to swing by on a Saturday around 12:30PM. Ample parking. I arrived to an extremely long line. That being said, I HIGHLY recommend arriving early. That being said, I didn't mind it as I was able to converse with patrons that have been to their other locations - at one point, I believe one of the co-owners came out to mingle with us all and offering water and I believe pan de sal during the wait. Once inside, the establishment was very clean and spacious - Most tables were occupied. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. I observed a lot of us (including myself) were planning to order to go and many ordered large portions which probably was the reason for the long wait time. I admit I was worried they would run out by the time I was able to place the order. I ordered 1 lb of lechon and after some convincing with patrons in line, I also ordered a few chorizo. I was slightly disappointed that they were short on many of the other side orders but it is something I am sure they'll perfect as time goes on. The food was amazing! I generally only have lechon during celebrations, but this was different. Very succulent and flavorful! I regret only ordering 1lb. It's one of those "must return and order more" in the future type of meals. The chorizo was different than what I am accustomed to but in a good way as it had a slightly sweet flavor. My coworker recommended this place for lunch and being so close to work I figured why not. I had seen the post on social media and knew there would probably be a wait and there was but they moved through fairly quickly. Staff was helpful to let us know all the different sides they were offering that day. This restaurant is a cafetería style, so walk up and through the line. The reason there is a line every day is not because of overwhelming demand, but because the service is extremely slow and inefficient. During my visit, it took approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to serve only 20-30 customers. The line barely moved, and there appeared to be little sense of urgency from the staff. Long wait times can be understandable when a restaurant is exceptionally busy, but in this case the pace of service was unacceptable. Customers were left standing and waiting for extended periods. The overall experience was frustrating and not worth the amount of time spent waiting. The food is okay. Some of the skin are crispy and some are chewy even though it came from the same roll., No meal is worth standing in line for over an hour and a half due to poor service and inefficient operations. I ordered Cebu lechon which was crispy but way too oily and so was the pork paksiw, (lechon in soup base) which was too oily + vinegar-y, pancit was meh (surprised there's no meat, just all noodles, and not used to so many canton noodles and less bihon noodles). Weirdly, they have a dipping sauce for lechon, but no calamansi juice for pancit. (Something I'm not used to again.) I also am not too thrilled when saying you want to "eat in" and the cashier still gives you a styrofoam container and paper plates, no plastic knife, only fork and spoon, and no serving tray. If you order multiple dishes, it's a hassle juggling these items when walking to your table. To me, it feels a little impersonal, that's all. The only bonus is that I came here for the first time with a friend on a Wednesday around noon, and there was no long lines, or long waiting times. The lechon was worth the hype. So delicious, crispy and tasty. There was something unique about how they cooked the skin. There's the crispy layer and then the 2nd layer where it is like eating really tasty chicharon. Meat was also tasty and juicy and only had a bit of fatty portion. All-yummy meat and skin! The bam-i was ok but pairs with the lechon well. The acharra was very good as well. We also tried dinuguan and it was good but very soup-y and had not enough meat in the small serving/order. The only other suggestion is to have a faster person to run the cash register for more efficient flow. I went there to see the live band last Friday. The venue is too small for having a live band, the sound was too loud for the size of the room. They don't have age restrictions since they serve alcohol. I saw a family with little kids, poor kid he was on his iPad and covering his ears. The food was okay, sisig could've been better I've had sisig before but theirs need some work and the calamari was alright. The only one I like was the fried lechon. Not enough drink selections. I like the ambience. Suspecting something fishy since the family behind me received their orders before me regardless of the fact that they had multiple orders, I immediately weighed the Lechon on my food scale upon my arrival at home and found it was only 3.13 lbs. My family and I came on their grand opening day! I did place my order the night before, but there was no separate line for pre orders, so we waited in line! We were there for a little more than 1.5 hours. We were given water, coffee and pandesal though while we waited , thanks Odie! It was very appreciated. Luckily we got to wait in the shade. The inside of the restaurant is nice too with plenty of seating and a space for live music. We ended up getting my pre order amount of 1.5 lbs of lechon pork belly (currently around $22/lb), a small pancit, pusit/squid and a couple of orders of their Cebu Chorizo. You can take the belly uncut or just have it cut for you to have a no mess experience at the restaurant or at home. If you get yours cut there, they'll remove the skin and cut it separately from the meat, and layer the skin on top. I like this presentation. The lechon was definitely the star of the show and the meat was juicy and succulent! It's tender, but you can still pick it up without it falling apart. The pork skin was wonderfully crunchy, perfect! The pancit was good as well and complemented the pork well along with their vinegar based sauce (not mang tomas). My mom enjoyed the squid. The chorizo had good flavor and a different texture, however we got gritty pieces that were almost a sand like texture? Not sure what happened there. Grand opening impressions... open for a couple of weeks and not surprised by the large numbers of people waiting for services. I arrived around 11am and there was a line of about 40. My total wait time to place an order was 1.20 hours. There were not many people waiting for tables or were seated as the majority of orders were take-out only. I would suggest if you want to try the food, you should consider after the grand opening crowds dissipate. Obviously the main draw here is the pork belly lechon. There are limited sides available, the Filipino pork blood, pancit canton, squid and only a couple of others I couldn't identify. If you're trying to manage your weight, this is not your go to place...the lechon skin was tasty but the underlying pork was bland and lacked seasoning. I would rate the pancit as mediocre, with limited vegetables (basically cabbage), but I'm not a fan of canton style pancit. The pork blood dish I threw out, it was mostly liquid and minced meat. The squid was tasty though and unfortunately the flan was sold out in an hour. I would suggest that they consider other processes to better manage the customer flow...I would consider alternative places for lechon if that's on your must have list...you may even think about driving to the Bai Cebu in Suisun CA, where the lines are manageable and the food items are better prepared, portions are larger, and prices are lower...just saying. read more

We were simply expecting better, way better. Anyway, here is my personal opinion about this place, based on my own personal experience. Food: 1/5. We ordered 1 lb lechon, small pansit, and small pakbet. Both the pakbet and pansit were bland. The lechon was tender and the skin was crunchy, but the taste and flavor were nowhere near what a good lechon taste. For comparison, the food I had at the Suisun branch was way, way better, specially the lechon. Price: 1/5. We paid $45.76 for our meal. Not overly expensive, but definitely not cheap. And one more thing, they charge processing fee of around 3%, if you use credit card. Really? They couldn't simply absorb that processing fee, just like all the other food establishments, and had to pass it down to the customers? Service: 2/5. Definitely on the slow side. Overall, like I said earlier, we were expecting better, but simply did not get it. On the plus side, this place is new, and hopefully, they will get better in the future. But Bai Cebu Lechon have a lot of bad reviews, not only from yelpers but also from people experienced the food in this restaurant. The food is not justifiable with the price, too expensive. We actually been waiting for this restaurant to open, we even sympatize with tbe owner when they are having a hardtime getting a permit to operate. The owner even asking for help and after they finally open and heard story from people tried their food, it's big let down. 1lb of lechon belly for $22 is not worth it and you have to fall inline for more than an hour and by the time you reach the counter you will slap by the price of the food. The taste, no WOW factor and often it's bland. For curiousity, you can try but expect falling inline for more than 1hr, paying an expensive food not even worth the taste. Waited a very very long time . They say it's cafeteria style, so the line should be moving continuously, not the case there. I think I would have been okay with the long wait, if what I had ordered was worth the money. Unfortunately it was not ! I ordered 1/2 lb of their pork, looked like the end cut. I also ordered 2 cups of rice, small pancit and a small ground beef with peas and carrots. Total was $36.53. When I got home and opened boxes, I was disappointed to see the pork was 75% fat there was barely a small handful of meat. Everything else was tasty. We didn't order the pancit because we saw a half eaten box that was left on the table by other diners that left, and the pancit looked pale without much ingredients. Worst was the wait to pay. One lady looked confused just to take rice from the pot and place it in a container. She told the lady ahead of us that she placed 2 cups of rice in the container when she clearly only placed one! The rice was undercooked. Plus there is an automatic $2+ charge for using a credit card.
