5 star bagels with 3 star service. NOBODY makes bagels as big & fluffy as Bagel Lady. We are hooked, for over 20 years. THIS is our bagel place. But JUST bagels is all we patronize them for. We always get them to go. The dining area is ehh, and the way the line forms around the store, you often have people waiting for service right near you. Service is better than it has been over the years, but for a popular bagel place, it's not enough hustle IMO. Still...if you want a big, fluffy, delicious bagel..get them from here. No other bagels in area even come close. Other local bagel places are better at the other things..fast service, better dine in areas, BECs, sandwiches etc But for the best BAGEL..the lady is the Queen! read more

I've been eating NY/LI bagels for over 50 years and I'm sorry to say, the one I had at this place was the worst-by far. And, it may even have been old. Either way, if you know Real bagels do not waste your time at this joint...and, the owner isn't very nice. read more

I grew up in Shoreham, worked for a decade at the Rocky Point Italian Bakery making Italian bread and I can honestly say these bagels are second to none, especially in the TOB. The owner has grown into the community and has made a real effort to evolve her customer service. Very good establishment. read more

This place has gone downhill under the new ownership and I've refrained from leaving a review in hopes it would improve. Long story short, it hasn't. Today I ordered two BECSPK with 3 eggs and I kid you not, the total was $27. I responded "$27 for two egg sandwiches...?" to which the girl said "It's because you got 3 eggs". The owner then came and rang it up "correctly" at $23. It's one thing to pay $23 for two egg sandwiches, and it's another to pay that for two GROSS egg sandwiches with the skimpiest amount of undercooked bacon. Overpriced, subpar food, with horrible service. Exactly the opposite of what this place used to be. Sad to even be writing this because Sassy Salads was once a place I would go multiple times per week. read more

I DON'T RECOMMEND !! Snippy and aggressive. Waited for a few minutes and made eye contact with multiple employees but was not greeted, or told that they'll be right there. When asking where we can order we received a snippy response of "well we're making orders" (FYI, I don't know why it takes 5 people to make one small order) and then after stating the time waited and lack of acknowledgment, she responded with "well what do you want ?" I've lived in Rocky Point for 18 years. I've been going to BLC for 18 years. They have changed owners once during those 18 years. Let me start by saying I love their bagels. If their service matched, I'd be a lifelong customer, but I am finally giving up on them. The previous owners had no sense of what good service is and it seems to have gotten worse with the current owners. 3 out of 4 times, the order is screwed up. This tells me they either have terrible systems in place or don't care enough to listen and think about their customers. I believe that I have given them ample opportunities, but they have lost me as a customer forever. If you're in our neighborhood, try Hot &Fresh Bagels. The service is stellar and the bagels are almost as good. read more

Bagel lady cafe used to be one of my favorite bagel stores on the island, but ever since ownerships have switched in the previous years bagel lady had really taken a turn for the worse. Grew up in this town and always enjoyed getting my deli sandwich fix. Figured I would give it a shot instead of going to the wading river deli. Big mistake. This place was horrible. Chicken cutlet deep fried - dry mostly grease breading. Cook forgot the cheese. Macaroni salad was flavorless and roll the sandwhich was made on was dry. My mother ordered a breakfast plate that came out with uncooked microwaveable bacon. They should stick to bagels. read more

I just had the most uncomfortable experience at the bagel lady this morning. I watched the owner Mina (i hope i spelt her name correctly) drag one of her young emoloyees by the arm and scream in her face as she forced the employee to look at the board and understand her "mistake" in taking an order. Mina touched this young employee in a way that should not be Condoned anywhere, especially in the work place and infront of many customers. She screamed at her not two inches away from her face, physically and verbally assaulted her without any care. I never go here because Mina has a horrible attitude, they have lost a customer forever i am completely outraged and disgusted in the behavior of the owner. read more

Sorry but with the new ownership I don't even like coming here anymore even though it's the closest to my house. Always liked them because they have the fluffiest bagels around! But the staff is incredibly rude, make you feel like you're bothering them when you order. They take FOREVER and it's just not worth it anymore I'd rather drive and get better customer service. Not a good way to start your day; also I ordered their smoothie they marketed (which was only pineapple; spinach, ice, so gross!) and a bagel and it was $13 total. read more

So annoyed, I get bagels from this place every Friday and every time they mess up my order (even though I have them repeat it back to me.) Today I ordered an everything bagel with lox spread and tomato and then I made sure to make a distinction and asked, "hey can I get extra tomato on that?" And the woman said sure. I asked for extra tomato because this is my usual order and when you don't ask for extra tomato, you only get 1 slice. Brought my bagel home and not only was there not extra tomato, there was NO TOMATO. I've had it. I will drive the extra 10 minutes to their competitor. Not sure what other people expect from a bagel cafe, but I've never been disappointed in all the times I've eaten here. I come from a different town but when I'm around Shoreham I make sure to stop in. The salads are fresh - chopped the way I like 'em and the bagels are better than any in my home town. read more
