The bagels here are awesome! The big red BAGELS sign immediately caught my attention and I knew I had to try it. I've only tried had the Lox spread, but it's delicious. There are small chunks of the fish and it's very flavorful. You can also buy prepackaged containers to take home. They have a wide variety of bagel options and spreads. The salt and everything bagels are both amazing! Myself and coworkers have all been very happy after getting breakfast from here. They also sell sandwich bagels if just cream cheese isn't your thing. I do wish they had the option of toasting a bagel. It would also be nice to include a knife with orders to spread the cream cheese. You can see from the photo all of mine stuck to one side. Not so much bagel "skin" that one dislocates jaws, but enough to get a little New York style crisp crunch. Sturdy enough bagel to hold the generous portion of smear or toppings. Huge variety of bagel flavors and homemade smears (one serving or tubs to go) plus tempting sandwich list. Going back tomorrow for the Lox & Cream Cheese bagel which is back on menu by huge request. Staff is super friendly and very willing to answer questions. Clean, well-lit, easy-to-navigate store in welcoming color scheme. Longtime establishment (50 years+] using time-honored original New York style recipes and methods make this a cut above all the chains and bulk manufacturers. Prices are very reasonable for authentic bagels. Buy one or buy a dozen...you won't be disappointed. Located in back corner of Nora strip mall (currently some construction nearby) makes it easy to overlook, but worth the trip! Plenty of parking. I hate to say it, but I was actually very disappointed in Bagel Fair. For starters, the menu is pretty basic. They have a decent amount of bagel flavors, but the buck stops there. There are limited flavors of cream cheese and limited options to make a bagel sandwich. They also do not have the option to toast the bagels. While ordering at the counter, you can see where they prep and cook the bagels (directly behind the counter). As I was ordering, an employee was prepping the bagels and handling the dough with his bare hands (no gloves). He then proceeded to apply the toppings with his bare hands as well. Not very appetizing to see someone making your food with their bare hands if you ask me. The price is also quite infuriating. A bagel costs $1 but a bagel with cream cheese costs $3. I'm no cream cheese expert, but I find it hard to believe the cream cheese should cost twice as much as the bagel. That brings me to the bagel itself. The outside was annoyingly tough to chew through and the cream cheese consistency was so runny that it all essentially slid off the bagel when I took a bite. read more

A classic, old school bagel shop. Walk in and smell that delicious smell of fresh baked bagels. It's a small shop, and can get crowded but the line moves fast. They have a ton of people working and they get you in and out fast. The bagels were fantastic. We went there two days in a row the bagels are so good. It's dangerous that I live 3 minutes from Bagel Fair. Their bagels are probably the best I've had and that includes bagels in NYC. Great selection. Insanely affordable (I would actually call the price cheap!), great schmears. Our favs are the bialy bagel, sesame, and jalapeño. We always get the scallion cream cheese. So good. How the heck have I never been here? I've driven by it literally thousands of times, but just never thought to stop in. Friday was national bagel day, so i went and got some bagels for my wife and i and, holy crap, they were amazing! (I WILL say up front that I"m not a bagel expert) And cheap, Like a buck or so apiece. My wife had a pumpernickel bagel (amazing) and I had a jalapeno, which I've never seen in a bagel before, but it was amazing too! I want to give a special shout out to the staff. Bagel Fair is a grab and go style place, offering just enough room for the line of hungry bagel lovers to congregate inside. We went on a Sunday morning before 9a. The guys working were very friendly and moved the line along at a good pace. The bins were piled high with freshly made bagels and it seemed most patrons were getting a dozen or so. Bagel Fair does give plastic bags if you order a lot to help keep them fresh. We ordered some egg and cheese bagels. They don't toast the bagels for the sandwiches, which would have added a nice texture. But the bagels were some of the softest we have ever eaten! The selection of bagels and cream cheeses was impressive. And the pricing is great - $1 per bagel or $11 for 12. Where to begin with this opus to a bagel shop. To begin I love bagels. I grew up staying the night with my great grandma drinking Lipton tea and eating Lenders bagels so I have a soft spot for them. I was introduced to bagel fair by friends in National Bagel day. I had no chance to make it there for that day but I came back soon after. I got my standard everything bagel and saw they had scallion spread. Sure why not? My first bite into this crunchy, soft, and oh sweet jebus flavor doused bagel I knew I was in trouble. As a single tear trailed down my face as I sat in the parking lot munching this bagel. I decided then and there I had a new place. Have I even mentioned the awesome lady behind the counter who treats you like the favorite niece or nephew she hasn't seen in too long? If you are AT ALL unsure of what you might like to try just ask her! I mean come on. Your aunty misses you and wants to know that you are eating. All of this falls under the watchful eye of a picture of what I can only guess is the original recipe gentleman. I would hug him and tell him thank you a million times. Ps. Hands down, the best bagel spot in town. This place reminds me of NYC w the dough or the water or something they use -whatever it is, it's magical. I've been coming here for almost 3 years. I strongly recommend the Everything or Bialy bagel w their amazing chive / scallion cream cheese. Holy amazing. I've also had their blueberry bagel, cinnamon and sugar bagel- also good! But Everything or Bialy bagels w that chive / scallion shear-- man it just leaves you wanting more! ;) AND they don't cheap you out w cream cheese either. The worst is when you're trying to eat a bagel and there's not enough cream cheese on the damn bagel so then you have to decide which half are you gonna eat! Half of the heaven IS the cream cheese, guys! They have a heavy hand that often I find myself pushing off some to the side but hey! I'd rather have too much than not enough. Love it!! I must also add the accessibility is fairly nice too! I really like places that are easy in/easy out and this place fits just that. Pull up to the front door, park in one of the many spots and go in. The staff is very friendly and polite too. I remember trying or order a blueberry bagel once and being told, "not until after Easter." I still don't understand that. We tried for a raisin/cinnamon one and that was a no go either. I am not sure if they still follow all those rules or not, but it was a hoot for a couple of newbies to the area. The bagels are excellent if eaten thee same day of purchase. Crunchy outside, soft inside. Day old bagels lose their softness very quickly. Don't even think about stocking up and having some later in the week, because they WILL be rock hard. This place has the best bagels in town! The bagels have a crisp outer crust with a soft center. They are made fresh daily and have a nice selection of flavors. My favorite is the salt bagel but this one tends to sell out early and they have been out later in the day. This is a takeaway place with no seating area. They don't toast their bagels, but will warm them. The best is when you get there and there are still warm bagels just out of the oven. The prices are very reasonable $1 per bagel. You can order bagels with cream cheese, sandwiches, and they also have fountain drinks (Pepsi products) and a selection of bottled drinks. They also have tubes of cream cheese to go. This is a great place to grab bagels to take into work or just for home. They also freeze well if you want to stock up on the weekend and put in the freezer to eat throughout the week. read more

This place is a hidden gem! I saw the sign one day in a plaza I am familiar with, but had never seen this sign before for some reason. There were 12 to 15 people waiting in line, and when I got in line behind them, I was in and out within less than 10 minutes. These are the closest thing to New York style bagels I have had outside of New York, and I really think they're just as good as the ones there. They are also incredibly low priced, which is outstanding, considering it sometimes costs an arm and a leg by a bagel around here. They were so efficient, welcoming, and treated me as if they had known me for years, even though it was only my first time there. I kept on forgetting to try this place, and realize now what I've been missing all along. This is no cheesy 90s bagel place with every wacky flavor under the sun. They keep it traditional and focus on what you crave when you want a good bagel...quality of bagel (flavor and good texture), and the schmears. I was impressed the the bagels, and bought two tubs of spread as an impluse buy. I'm so glad I did...they pleased me as much as the bagel....you can tell there are fresh finely chopped veggies in the veggie spread and the flavor texture pretty much blows every freeze dried grocery store imposter away. The other spread I got was lox, and it had CHUNKS of smokey salty loxy goodness. Came in randomly on a Wednesday morning. I was craving bagels and this was the only shop that sold fresh bagels close to Carmel. I ordered the cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. My husband ordered the onion bagel with regular cream cheese. We were not disappointed! Bagels had a nice crunch on the outside, but was still a little chew and soft on the inside. The strawberry cream cheese wasn't sweet and the cinnamon raisin bagel wasn't overpowering with cinnamon. There was a line out the door around 7:30-8am. Would recommend coming in early if you are in a rush during the week. Recommend this stop to anyone! read more
