Well, that's great! I wrote a long review and Yelp lost it, while I was trying to retrieve their 6-digit code, in order to post my review! Minus 5 stars for Yelp, an app written by kindergarteners! So, now I gotta write it all over, again (thanks for nothing, Yelp!) Anyway, I give Bagel Bazaar 3, maybe even 4, stars. I like to walk there (only 6 blocks away), and get a pound of their freshly-made potato salad, for only 6 bucks. As far as I'm concerned, it is a good deal. I just have to exert a little effort to eat slowly and then pick out the (very occasional) bad piece of potato, that might be mixed in with all of the many other good pieces of potato that are there with the lovely, crumbled hard-boiled egg, that is mixed in with it, too. Overall, if I'm careful, it is a very good potato salad. And their sliced liverwurst is good, too. They seem to be more like a deli, than just a bagel place. Inexpensive, and good, made fresh, and close by--my only real complaint is that they are closed by 3pm (otherwise, I'd go there more often, to get more stuff, at night, when I'm awake and often looking for stuff like this.) But then, every other place around here that has good stuff like that is also often shut down too early, also. So, they're not alone. Hopefully, I'll remember to go there earlier, tomorrow, so I can get some good potato salad, because right now it is only 422pm, and they are already closed (unfortunately!) But, I still had a good day cleaning and sharpening a good pair of old scissors, for one of my two, elderly girlfriends, today. So, maybe tomorrow I'll have more time to go down there and get some of their good potato salad (that I can't resist!), right? read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Almost $9 for this BEC on a roll. First of all, where's the bacon? 2 half strips of bacon- in the sandwich and one piece of complete fat. Is this what you serve your community? First time here and boy will it be the last. The price is insane for such poor execution. Do not order from here. I haven't been back to Jersey in over 5 years. I miss the food. I went on a super fast trip for a couple of surprise parties and one of the must haves was a real bagel. Here in Florida they consider Lenders the real deal‍. This place had amazing bagels, soft inside chewy crunchy exteriors. The crumb cake was fabulous too. So why 4 stars? When I first moved to New Brunswick three years ago, I was happy to find a great spot for bagels and breakfast. Two years ago, they changed ownership/management and the menu/staff. I want to like this place. It has a great location, next to my gym, the supermarket, so close to my house. They have a great variety of bagels and lunch items. I like to get a multi-grain bagel and add my own toppings at home. I actually go here almost once a week. But the service isn't too great. I went here on Sunday with my fiancé. We ordered pancakes with a side of egg whites and wheat toast. (I was planning on eating lunch so I didn't want to fill up on breakfast). The ladies took our order and we waited 5-10 minutes for it. They gave it to us on one plate with one set of utensils. I think they clearly knew we were splitting it. Why couldn't she give us another plate? When I asked for a fork, she was washing dishes and just pointed to where they were. That was the last straw. I don't expect people to bring me breakfast on a silver platter or anything, but at least freaking smile and be sincere! They don't go out of their way to be friendly or appreciative. I've stopped by this place multiple times and ordered different things. The bagels and wraps are okay. This place is always packed between the hours of 9am-12pm. Even though there is a lot of staff, I have had to wait a very long time for my food, even if it was a simple order, so just be prepared for that as it not quick stop to just pick up your food. read more

No good time organization they will tell you 20 minutes and it will take 40. They will tell you it's ready when it's not for another 10 minutes. They will charge other people first and give it to them after you paid and your food is setting in the back and you got there first. Not worth a trip anymore. My neighbor spot . Good people, great food , feeds the neighborhood. Usually busy so be prepared to wait ten minutes usually. They are family run with 4-5 folks only so please be kind . Not fancy place but good soild bagels & food . What more do you need in a local joint ? Also they cook by order and don't overcook so as they crowd comes they make more bagels , which means if you snooze you lose . Don't be surprised if they are out of certain types by 10-11 . You ask sometimes they are making more . Sometimes no , but always fresh . No bricks here ever. Also the guy here does this thing where if you ask for bacon or whatever with your eggs he makes a neat little omelette with your egg so nothing spills out while eating your bagels. Nice addition. Ordered bagels at the counter and watched the woman who took our order put on just 1 glove (not sure why not 2?) and started preparing them. Not even 30 seconds in she took a call on her cell phone and proceeded to talk during the whole time she made our bagels. Going back and forth touching her phone and then our food. Needless to say we were grossed out and probably won't even eat the bagels. If the call is an emergency - take it elsewhere and then wash your hands before you start handling food again. Don't!!!! Went in to get breakfast and decided to get coffee first. Didn't notice that the urn was almost empty until I had put some in my cup. Smelled burnt, so I threw away that cup and grabbed a new.cup to do a new flavor. An employee came over yelling at me and asking what was wrong with the coffee I threw out. Sorry this lowly resident who pays 11k a year in property taxes to the town isn't as important. The owner, rather than assist the overwhelmed staff, spent his time schmoozing. I'm surprised by the bad reviews below. My husband just got a new job nearby which led to my daughters and I deciding to stop in for bagels. We absolutely love the bagels!! The garlic one is the best garlic bagel I've ever had! The kids like the Strawberry and Oreo flavors. Coffee was so good too. It's our new breakfast stop when we have to take my husband to work. Place used to be the spot to go to for bagels but with the new owners, not anymore. There is quite a bit of microwave use to make the food. The bagels are smaller than the normal size, the sandwiches are bare bones, and the prices they charge isn't justifiable with the food they put out. Too bad..... read more

This has been my neighborhood bagel shop & deli for the better part of 2 decades. It's solid with good food, decent bagels, and decent staff. That said, it's best to avoid this place on Sundays between 9am and noon; it gets absolutely swamped! The really great part is that they're open 365 days a year - so Christmas, Thanksgiving and 4th of July mornings when everything else is closed, you can get your bagel fix! (Though I secretly feel really awful for the people who have to work Christmas morning) They've changed ownership at least 4 times in the years since we moved to the area, but the original owner, who is now an attorney, is in the shop quite frequently. He's a gregarious guy and is happy to talk to anyone, it seems. Two of the ladies who work there have been there through the entire time, except for a brief period during one owner's tenure when he fired all the old-time staff. Once the previous owners came back, the old-time staff was hired back. There was also a period in the early 2000s when they were closed for several weeks after a fire. Anyway, the food, and by extension, the counter staff. Generally, solid breakfast sandwiches and decent bagels. A good variety of toppings, and BOY are they generous with cream cheese. Oftentimes I get way too much schmear on my bagel, really. That said, even if you ask for extra ketchup on a hot sandwich, you'll still need a ketchup packet or two if you really like your sandwiches wet with the tasty red stuff. I think they make the 2nd best Belly Buster in the area (which is pork roll, sausage, bacon, egg and cheese on one sandwich). They also have a lox and cream cheese sandwich that my wife loves. Now the down side - some of the staff struggles with English, so sometimes I feel uncertain whether or not they've understood my order and requests. The old-time staff gets it right and will remember your order if you go there enough. The newer folks just don't seem to get it sometimes. I think they're getting better, but there was a time when I didn't go in for quite a while because things were just wrong with my orders when I got home (I always get my orders to go). Orders tend to get messed up more when they're really busy (see the aforementioned suggestion to avoid Sunday mornings after church gets out). The speed at which you receive your order will vary greatly depending on how busy they are. Sometimes it seems like there are WAY too many cooks in the kitchen to make it run efficiently. Other times the orders come out so fast I wonder if they've actually prepared it to order (which I know they do for each sandwich order). I haven't had a lunch order from here in quite a long time (probably on the order of 10 years or more), so I can't comment on the deli side of things except to say my wife is quite pleased when she orders the lox and cream cheese sandwiches. Bagel Bazaar is a decent breakfast place with a long tradition in North Brunswick. Great for decent bagels (which they make themselves) and for good breakfast sandwiches. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE, ESPECIALLY OFF OF DOOR DASH!!!! Ordered about $50 worth of breakfast for my family from here, through door dash. The restaurant called me within ten minutes of my order going through, to relay they didn't have half of the items I ordered, or ingredients to make the things I ordered. I told them that it's fine, and they can cancel the order. The woman told me I have to tell doordash to cancel it it. Ok, fine. I called Doordash and they said the restaurant needs to cancel it on their end in order for me to get the full refund. When I called back the woman says(this is all within 4 or 5 minutes) "we don't have your order. We don't even use doordash" and hung up. I called back several times and a man kept answering and yelling they don't have the order and don't use doordash, that I have the wrong number, etc. It took over an hour corresponding with doordash to get my full refund, because the restaurant did not cancel the order they supposedly did not have. My doordash driver showed up since they did not cancel, and they even yelled at him. Bad customers service, dishonest, and rude. Attempting to con people out if their money in the middle of a pandemic. Very sick. Do not give these people your money. Read the other reviews. There's a pattern here.
