Move Busters - Damaged Freezer from Move

Move Busters

I had inquired for moving services back in August which included 2 movers and a 27' truck, however,…read morewhen moving day came, the company shared there were some mechanical problems and showed up with a 20' U-Haul truck and 6 movers. While this was not what was initially agreed upon, I still had faith in their service and made sure to tip all 6 movers. After the move to our new house, I noticed damages to our freezer and reached out to Thaddeus at Move Buster. Thaddeus assured me that this was covered by insurance, however, despite claims that a check was coming, after a whole month later, I still have not received this "check". I've tried calling and emailing Move Busters, unfortunately they have not responded. Tip: Make sure you check your furniture, appliances, moving items before the moving crew leaves!

5 stars all around Why?…read more- On time as stated - Efficient with their movements - Respectful of furniture & house and community areas + people at both communities - Fast communication via Yelp - Respectful of my concerns and questions - Cash, MasterCard and VISA for payment accepted - Receipts emailed or sent via text, your preference - Didn't bad mouth other companies nor cared to reference other company's prices like 1 place from Fitchburg did. - Has insurance - Contracts in writing - Agreements made in writing after a walk through and they maintained that. - Assembled without complaint and without damaging. - Removed mounted TVs without any issues - I added additional furniture like a king bed and they told me don't worry when I updated via Yelp messaging. disassembled & reassembled without fail. I highly recommend Thaddeus/TY

Having managed several successful small businesses myself, never before have I experience more…read moreunprofessionalism in my 20+ years of experience. First, their response time for getting back to you with a quote is horrible. And when I finally received a quote, it was not in writing. Second, when the day came for them to move me, they showed up late with a truck that was falling apart. Parts of it were rusting, one of the rear tires on the double axle was flat and hanging on the rim, the gas tank had a piece of plastic stuffed in it to function as a gas cap, and the truck failed to start when they tried to back it up to the storage unit. When the employees called the owner, he cussed a blue streak on the phone and hung up angrily. When he called his employees back again, his attitude was less than professional. The movers themselves were talking about how the truck was unreliable as well. They informed me that the owner would be there in 20 min and I told them to call me when he got there. The next call I received was not from the owner but from the moving crew that had been talking about how unreliable the truck was. I asked them if the owner brought another moving truck or trailer, and they informed me that they had managed to start the truck and were ready to move me. I told them I wasn't comfortable with them using that truck, to which they replied, "F^&K you then." The owner failed to call me at any time to inform me of what was going on or how he planned to complete the move. As a result of their poor customer service, I have now incurred additional storage fees. As a result, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business.

First let me say BUYER BEWARE! As I searched for movers I found the cost to be nearly $2500. Until…read moreI came across Rockford Family Movers. They were nearly half the other quotes. I asked why and Steven said that they had little overhead and were a local family company. I did some research on yelp and google and found every review at 5 STARS!! They are definitely NOT 5 STARS! We tried to support local while saving a few bucks. Don't do it. The movers showed up in a U-Haul, not professional looking at all, just 4 guys one of whom was the owner Steven Eisenach. They took a crazy amount of breaks. Every few minutes was a smoke break. I had to ask them not to smoke in the truck while loading our furniture. Plus they threw their cigarette butts all over the yards and drive ways. In all it took over 10 hours for a 3 bedroom home to go 10 minutes away. After the move we noticed many dings and gouges in the furniture and other items. During the move I noticed a gouge in our downstairs oak door and pointed it out to a mover. I got a shoulder shrug and a "wow! thats bad." After the move we had to repair and paint many scratches in the walls at the old and new home. The worst came as we unpacked. I left my garage tools to unpack last in order to get the house up and running. When I finally got a chance to unpack the garage I noticed many tools missing. I ended up losing many hand tools and some power tools. I have a 4'x8' peg board normally loaded with tools. Now it barely has anything at all. I am finding more tools missing every day. I did reach out to the movers via email and voicemail and have had no response. My wife did some more digging on the company and found a few things. She found that Steven reviewed his own company. And with as many 5 star reviews we believe that most are friends or family. She also found 1 Google review saying pretty much what we say above. They had a couple of tv's go missing. Makes for an interesting read. https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/112013538562282514718/reviews/@42.329958,-89.0485609,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m3!8m2!3m1!1e1?hl=en-US And finally, my wife found a news article on Steven Eisenach. It claims that he was arrested for stealing over $17K in jewelry while working for another moving company. We decided to go with this company as their pricing was comparable and they had availability for our moving date. Firstly, they were late on the moving day. If you have time restrictions, don't use them. As a company that charges per hour, they milked the hour service. We had pre-boxed all of our small items and moved them right by the door before the movers came. The leader on the job left halfway through loading to get his guys lunch. His guys, in turn, did not know what to do without him. If we weren't there babysitting them and helping with the move, this would have gone unnoticed. Additionally, we were originally charged for their lunch in our total payment which we had to dispute. (The company has since told us they "cut us a break") I don't even get a paid lunch, why should they? We had 3 people of our own helping with the move and this still took 10 hours. Way over the quoted time. They did not have us sign anything, but they, AS THE MOVING COMPANY, loaded our propane grill and said it would inconvenience us to disconnect it. In turn, upon arrival at the new house, it was leaking and could have been a lawsuit. One employee was on his phone the entire time. they only had one guy on the truck at a time. They didn't remove their shoes, they didn't bring the mats from one place to another, and they ended up taking our nice moving blankets. At the end of the day, we consider how our grandparents would be treated in this situation and we will never NEVER forgive ourselves for saying anything positive about this experience to people we care about.
