We needed our 35 yr old wooden deck replaced. Angie came to our house with samples of decking and…read morerailing, took measurements, gave us a ballpark estimate. Very knowledgeable about composite decking and answered all our questions. She left the samples for us and gave us time to decide. No high-pressure sales! We started this process pretty late in the spring, so had to wait till August until they could get to us, but it was so worth the wait! Chris and his crew were professional, knew exactly what they were doing, but always had time to be pleasant and chat/answer questions. Their work is pristine; every joint matches exactly. We are so impressed! Best part was it only took 3 days and they were done. Plenty of time to enjoy our beautiful new deck before winter. We also like that Deck Dogs gave us a good credit for disassembling and hauling away our old one. Win-Win. We definitely recommend this company!

If you're thinking about installing a deck, do yourself a favor and ask Deck Dogs to come give you…read morea quote! They were very responsive, personable, and so easy to work with. I spoke to several companies for quotes. Some never got back to me after our initial talk. I had quite a few companies come out to give me quotes. I choose Deck Dogs because I felt Angie really understood my needs and gave me suggestions based on that and our family's lifestyle (2 active little kids that live to be outside, puppy who can't get enough of outdoors, and a place for us to relax). We also looked at options for materials and colors and what would stand up best to my family. I appreciated that she left me with everything I needed (bag of many decking samples, information for railing and lighting packages). The quote was also the easiest and most straight forward. They're pretty busy with everyone wanting home improvements due to COVID and more time at home. My deck project was completed a good 2 months before I was expecting it. And the quickness and thoroughness when the job started was amazing. They were very efficient, very professional and went above and beyond my expectations. They removed my old deck from my home builder that was of questionable quality and installing a new, larger one. Everything looks seamless. We love it. They went above and beyond what I expected (moving my kiddos sandbox and then moving to back and refilling it), patching all the spots where our previous footings were, and spreading the mulch we had under our deck to cover the bare spot where the old stairs were. Way beyond what I expected and the deck looks amazing!

DO NOT USE Quigley Decks! As another reviewer stated, Tim (the owner) is quick to come out and…read moreprovide you with a design, quote and answer questions. During the planning process he was the most responsive of all the companies we interviewed and therefore went with him. Unfortunately all that changed once deck construction began -- his crew rarely worked, he was as not responsive to emails and texts raising concerns, and now has abandoned the project unfinished. We signed a contract in May 2022, construction did not begin until October 2022 and was "mostly finished" by February. We are left with a deck with very loose railings, improperly constructed stairs, missing boards, siding missing and on and on. The deck was not built to code. We are going to have to resort to legal action to recoup costs (about $15,000) to have another contractor remedy the defects.

We hired Quigley April 2020 to build a 6x12 foot deck and he quoted us 3 weeks for the install. We…read moretherefore did not build the temporary steps from our patio door (which we already purchased the lumber for), but we held off due to the early install date. While we are realistic about rain and contractor time schedules, it took 3 months and many phone calls (mostly unanswered and never replied to) before they began the job. At that point, they built the floor but forgot we wanted surface mounted railings, rather than railings attached to the sides. We therefore have a large gap that would have been covered by the side-mounted railings, but was just left as is and has not been corrected (see picture). Then the crew disappeared. Literally, months later (November), after living with a deck with no railings with preschool age kids, our neighbor raised concern with the city about the safety of a deck with no railings and we discovered that Quigley had not actually even secured the appropriate permits (which were promised in our quote or we would have obtained ourselves). As we were facing a citation from the city, Quigley appeared, unannounced, and very roughly installed some (but not all) of the railings. The work was clearly rushed and the corners are not true. One side of our deck is still missing the privacy wall we were promised, and if it was not for our grill blocking the opening, our children could fall 5 feet off the edge. The stairs also have no rails. Given the history of ignoring the contract we signed, we insist on being present for the final installation and coordinated an install date. Nobody showed up, and again they did not return our phone calls. Roughly 2 or 3 other times this spring, they have since showed up unannounced and said they were installing the deck that day, but obviously we could not take off work with zero notice. We continue waiting for an actual, planned date so our deck is safe and up to code. Best of luck to anyone taking a risk on this company.
