American style BBQ in Prague??? Really??? Good 'Q is hard enough to pull off in the USA, could someone in Prague do it? The answer is a resounding YES. Bad Jeff's is the real deal. It's located near the Namesti Miru station on a mostly residential street. Beautifully decorated, we were seated immediately. Friendly server brought us our menus. We considered the BBQ Sampler but thought it would be too much as we weren't super hungry. Settled for the beef brisket and the pork ribs lunch. Both were excellent. Meat just fell of the bones, perfectly sauced. Fries were good. Unfortunately we didn't try the sides - guess we'll have to save that for next time. After getting to know Prague better, good 'Q doesn't surprise me anymore. Prague is well known for its meats and the restaurant scene is definitely on point. read more

In a city that's known for its meat, BBQ isn't the first thing that you associate with it. But in the city's continued growth and attraction of multiple nations, one of those being Americans, BBQ was bound to find its way. And that's what Jeff did, he took his BBQ with him from back home, set up shop in Prague, and has been successful ever since with locals, and of course, expats. The chef, Jeff, actually is from Texas and used to be a chef at Prague Beer Museum, where he helped introduce classic American fare, such as corndogs, on their menu. I had my best ribs in Prague here, and some great sides including truffle mac n' cheese, jalapeno cheese corn bread, baked beans and cole slaw. I was pleased with the overall experience. Comforting interior, great selection of food (true to an American BBQ menu), AWESOME service, and the prices (albeit "expat prices") were good for what you got in return. read more

Beats any USA BBQ hands down. I tried the pulled pork sandwich which was moist and flavorful without being over sauced. Just the right amount of cole slaw on top of the pulled pork in the middle of a homemade bun. I ate it slow so it would last a little longer. I also had aside of their truffle Mac & Cheese. Rich & creamy with macaroni a little al dente which I enjoyed a lot. My partner had the cheeseburger which he said was seasoned & cooked just right. They claim to only have 25 burgers available each day. On the side he had their curly fries. Service was on point. I might add that the step down restaurant was very cozy and the vibe of Old Prague. I'm only in town for a few more days but I'm going back before I leave. read more

Literally never had a better pulled pork sandwich in my life. We had a party of 11; the only words we had were "that is good as f*ck". Only thing they should add to their menu is a pulled pork with Mac and cheese sandwich!!! Capitalize on your buffalo sauce and you win! read more

When a restaurant is not in the busiest part of town but still manages to get a full house on every day of the week you know it must be good. I really suggest making a reservation. Went there with my family and we had the wings, the pulled pork sandwich, Jeffs burger, the ribs and brisket. Everything we had was amazing and truly a feast for the senses. These guys knows BBQ! My boyfriend and I went here on Valentine's Day. They messed up our appetizer and ended up giving us a round of drinks to make up for it. The ribs were really good. Half a slab was plenty of food for me. I got the mac and cheese and corn bread as my sides and they were pretty damn good. We ended up trying their take on a margarita and it was just not for me. I will say, they recently changed their prices and the sides do not come with the ribs anymore, they are extra. read more

The food scene has improved so much since I left Prague in 2002. This place is so good. The ribs are fantastic. The brisket is off the hook. Good prices and good meat, but terrible side dishes. I have been in search of a good American BBQ place in Prague and this is probably the best one that I have found which is relatively disappointing. The ribs themselves are quite good, but the side dishes that they provided were mediocre at best. I'd say that the fries and the garlic bread (I didn't taste any garlic) were probably the best side dishes. My friends got some other ones and they did not enjoy them at all. All in all, if you're looking for a BBQ place, this is probably the one to go to, but be careful in picking your side dishes! read more

Wow - real BBQ in Prague, at last! Bad Jeff is a master, and his brisket will make you cry. The sides are all fantastic as well - the iron skillet beans, the smoked potato salad, the cornbread, the incredible grits and cheese. The ribs are also very good, as is the chicken, but it's that brisket that has stolen my heart. And the buffalo wings - easily the most authentic in the country. The service is phenomenal, the decor and atmosphere are nice without being stuffy, and the desserts - especially the caramel bread pudding and the smoked chocolate fondant, are a perfect way to round out a fantastic meal. We decided to visit Bad Jeff's after reading other reviews and they are true! This is THE place for some great BBQ. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We were raving over the food with the waitress and shortly after the owner came out to say "hello". We of course continued to tell him how great the food is and were shocked at a BBQ restaurant in Prague. The wings, brisket, ribs, heck everything we had to include desert and coffee were simply amazing! They smoke the wings so they have an amazing flavor. I was craving a taste of home and found this place on the expat website. It definitely hit the spot. I had the ribs, curly fries, and a raspberry mule. I had three raspberry mules by the time my meal was done- so delicious! The ribs just fell right off the bone and it was very tender and very good. If I get a chance to before I leave Prague, I will come back for more raspberry mules and try their pulled pork sandwich. I might even head over for the Fourth of July for a taste of my country on Independence Day! read more

This is by far one of the best restaurants in Prague! Not only is the food some of the BEST barbecue I have ever had the service is impeccable! I lived in Prague from 1993 to 2007 and I had seen many food trends start from my first visit in 1992 when all restaurants seemed to have the same food-meat fried with cheese and ham in the middle. When I found a place that had boiled chicken I was so happy. Gradually the international food scene came to Prague. Many of the foods which I hoped for like rotisserie chicken. One type of food that had not come by the year I had left was good BBQ food. That ended on my return visit in 2015 when I was taken to Bad Jeff's. It was not good, but great. One of the best I had ever had. The ribs were great. The wings were the BEST I have ever had. Bad Jeff's is sooo bad that it is sooo good! I took pulled pork and ribs back to the states to have a friend taste that is in the restaurant business and who has traveled around the US in search of the best BBQ places. He rated the ribs an 8 out of 10 and his taste was 2 days after it was cooked and without much of the sauce left. He rated the pulled pork a 10. He was mad that I did not bring wings back as I had eaten them all. I told him my next visit I would bring them back. He said he could not wait and will see if they can be shipped. I highly recommend those visiting and those who live in Prague to go there for a real treat. We do not want to lose this place. I will be going back there. Enjoy! read more
