We are in Stillwater for a graduation. I had a hankering for a bologna sandwich. That is what determined trying this place. I had the Ranch hand which is a smaller version of the regular sandwich. The sauce was nice, jalapeno bologna had a nice heat, not very smokey but good. It came with home fries, a little to wilted for my liking. I prefer mine crispier. My first time going to this place was an unexpected joy for me. I've never tried it before and I must say the food was excellent. I especially love the fries and the street tacos I ordered. The employees are very polite and were patient with me when I was ordering for the first time there. They were also fast at delivering our food and they were professional about it too. The decor was pretty nice to look at, the TV channels had a lot of country shows and western movies playing that really helped with the theme of the restaurant. Overall, I liked the experience and food, also the fact they cook their meat on site is very beneficial for their dishes. If you like Butchers BBQ in Wellston you'll like this place too. We came in at 4:00 on a Friday and there were one or two families inside. They serve breakfast, have lice music in the evening with a happy hour and very attractive bar area. Prices are very fair and everything we had was delicious. The only thing I tried that I would not try again was the fish tacos. Super smoky or something a bit off. Condiments are all out and available so your not asking the counter to bring you extra ranch and the service was quick and friendly. Really enjoyed this place. This is the worst barbecue I have ever had. I got there as soon as they opened and had to wait 15 minutes for my food when the entire restaurant was empty. The brisket was so dry I could hardly chew it, so it was probably placed under a heat lamp for hours and hours and was likely leftovers from the day before at least (I got there when they opened so it was not cooked that day.). The pulled pork had no seasoning at all and appeared to have been boiled. This was also a $30 lunch meal that clearly was not cooked that day. Definitely will not be back ever again. read more

Went for the Father's Day brunch buffet advertised to run 10-2. We got there shortly after noon & only about half of items advertised were on the buffet. I would say the level of smoke in the turkey and brisket were good and the sausage had a good flavor, but it didn't seem like the sausage was smoked, just warmed up. I reached out to Bad Brad's according to the information at the bottoms of their receipt asking them to contact me in regards to the horrible experience that my family and I had when we ate there. I can tell you as of today 12/5/23 I haven't heard a word from them to resolve the problem. The sad part is that we were recommended this restaurant by my husband's coworker as a great place to have great barbecue and great customer service. Yeah not so much. Not only was the food highly disappointing and truly EXPENSIVE!! We spent over $80 for horrible barbecue. But we spent $80 for horrible follow up on how to fix the problem, which was zilch. And we spent $80 for poor customer service. It's not my husband's coworker's fault that the management doesn't care about their customers. It's the management's fault for not caring about their customers. Especially ones that just recently moved to the area about 4 months ago. Never in my life have I had such bad customer service, bad food and bad follow through. And like with anything when word gets around (which is why there are apps like Yelp) people start sharing their experiences to 1 person. And that person shares it to another 1-2, etc. and pretty soon everyone knows not to go to said place. Whether it's a restaurant or a retail shop. You get what you give. And we got nothing. I used to be a manager at a restaurant, and there is 0 way I would let something like this go unnoticed and not addressed. I would get reamed by my district manager or the general manager. I'm highly disappointed Bad Brad's. I would've at least expected some sort of communication. But maybe you just rest on your laurels on being the best barbecue place in Stillwater. Which you're not. We are in town to deposit my child at OSU and looked for a spot for dinner. I was reading the reviews and they were 1 star or 5 star for here. Complete opposite experiences but I didn't earn my Yelp Maverick badge by being shy to take on a spot with 1 stars so off we went. The locations seems different than many in the review so they must have moved. There is a lot of parking and easy to get to. There looks to be plenty of outside seating. Clearly no one was dying to battle the August heat today. The inside has adequate seating but not enough that i couldn't see them filling up when they get busy. We were here on a Wednesday and they stayed busy the entire time and about 75% full. They have a big bar with lot of bottles full of poor decision juice to make for a fun evening for yourself. The food was OK but not fantastic. I can see where my experience was like many of the lower reviews. My son had the pulled pork nachos and i had a few chips and it was a solid choice and nothing bad to say about it. A good portion and tasty. I went with the Sausage and Brisket platter since i like to live dangerous relative to the reviews. The brisket was definitely on the dryer side like many complained not not terrible by any means and i did get one slice that was a hint salty as others had months but that was just one bite. I bathed it in the original bbq sauce and it was good. The sausage was better and not dry at all. It has a very Smokey flavor but i liked it. I can see where another review said it tasted like kerosene but that think it is more the wood they used but honest a good sausage. The Cowboy Beans were SOLID and tasty. They have a good kick to them. The baked potato was on the baked side for sure. I threw on the butter and cheese and Sour cream and it was good. I grabbed dessert to go. The to go sizes struck me on the small side when we got back to the hotel for the price. The brown butter cake is about the size of your palm. My son has not eaten it yet so can't tell you if it is a win but it comes with a scoop of ice cream. I went with the blackberry cobbler. It is far more cobbler/bread than it is fruit. I would almost call it fruit bread pudding. It wasn't bad but needed the ice cream for sure. The staff was very nice and helpful. You can even but some Bad Brad spirit wear from then too!! Great BBQ spot and would gladly return. I went here twice during my time in Stillwater, once for lunch and once for a celebration of life where we used their room and catering. The lunch food was good, I especially liked the corn fritters. The real reason for the 5 stars was the amazing way the staff at Bad Brad's treated my family in planning the celebration of life for our family member who recently passed and the amazing quality for the catering. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were supported and taken care of. They made sure the room look great and we were all really comfortable. We got the baked beans, pork skins and queso, cheesy garlic mash, tri tip, pulled pork, and the regular and jalapeño corn bread. Everything was delicious. The tri tip was insane. The jalapeño cornbread was out of this world. The margaritas on tap were also really yummy. If I'm back in Stillwater, I will definitely return. read more

I haven't been here in a bit after a bad food experience. Thought I would give it another try remembering how good it used to be. Got our food and the fries were dark brown and cold. My husband and I just walked out of the place about 30 minutes ago, the service wasn't the best, and I only ordered a pulled pork sandwich, and it gets to the table and there's a longgggg beard hair that I pulled out of the side of it without even taking a bite of it yet. I waved a server over and all she did was walk over and turn around and walk off, what I'm assuming was the manager or owner walked over and she pulled her hair up as she walked over. I told her about the hair and all she said was "do you want a new sandwich?" After I get my new sandwich, what looked like the cook walked out of the back with a long beard and no hair net or anything on. If you plan on going here make sure to look at your food real closely. $37 dollars for 2 sandwiches and they couldn't even bother to put a hairnet on. Very sad. read more

Pulling into Bad Brad's looks like you're pulling into someone's house. Lots of parking maybe a smokehouse out back and restaurant looks like it was someone's house. Walking into the restaurant looks more like a hunting lodge. Lots of animal heads mounted on the walls, the smell of smoke permeates the air. We arrived at 12:30 on a Monday. The place was kind of quiet but within 10 minutes the place was 3/4 full so we figured that was a good sign. I had a Phil a buster sandwich with a hot link, ham, pulled pork and two onion rings on top. The hot link was outstanding, the ham was okay and the pulled pork was good. The onion rings were crispy. Overall the sandwich was good but the pulled pork kind of got lost. Separately the pork was good on its own. My daughter had the pulled pork nachos and a side of corn bread. The queso on the nachos was really flavorful, the beans were cooked well overall a good dish. The corn bread was good. My wife had the po boy, it was a two meat combo sandwich. She tried to order burnt ends but unfortunately they were out. She opted for pulled pork and brisket. The brisket was good but dry. My wife also wished they had mixed the meat instead of placing one on top of the other. Overall the meal was solid and the staff was attentive and friendly. Nice place, laid back. But this review is about the service, not the appearance. I ordered the cowboy special with pulled pork and smoked bologna. The pulled pork was dry, and the only bread given to eat with us was a small dinner roll. The smoked bologna was good though. They also forgot my brother's meal. I go here every Thursday night with my buddies have been for a year. I get the two meat, burnt ends and Tri-tip, side of fried okra and sweet corn bred with a drink. Total is $21.67 and it's a ton of food, I always take some home. I don't understand how others are posting they get $40 meal for 1 person. It's always good I am never disappointed. Staff is always friendly and the owner is always there working the bar. Never ordered from the bar but there is always a crowd. They play good music, mostly Oklahoma red dirt with some local stuff. Started this experience annoyed, and it didn't get much better. I ordered the $15 burnt ends, which comes with two sides. I looked at the "fixins" which listed the normal sides you'd expect to see. I told the person taking my order what I wanted, and specifically, asked if those sides were included. He didn't say anything, so I assumed they were. I also ordered a single rib, (because the rib & brisket is how I Judge BBQ restaurants.) and a drink. The total was $25. I asked if the rib was $10??? By this time, a girl came over and explained I had ordered sides which were up-charged. The menu says nothing about up-charges, nor what sides you get with your meal. Still not clear what sides are included without being charged extra. Annoying. When my meal came, it was obvious the meat wasn't fresh, and my $1.50 up-charged baked potato was under cooked and hard. The only overly hot item was my .99 cent piece of cornbread. I don't know how long restaurants keep leftover meat, but I'd guess it was from Tuesday. (This was Thursday). It was dry, no fat rendering off the meat. Just seemed like old, reheated meat. Considering this, it's impossible to judge the meat. It was edible drowned in sauce, which is being generous. I wish I could say I loved it, but it was not very good. I ordered a few things to sample - smoked Turkey and sausage, fried mushrooms, okra, side salad, pork rinds with queso. I asked for ranch as the dressing. The turkey was drier than dust, the salad was old and brown, I got no salad dressing, the fried mushrooms were soggy, and I got no queso with the pork rinds. I would have gone back, but I was so tired from travel and the vet hospital that I just worked around what I did like, which was the okra, sausage and pork rinds. Wasn't worth $55 before tip. First time to go in as we have been doing carry out. The bar set up and atmosphere is really nice. Small dining area inside and can't wait to sit in the patio when it warms up. The service is exceptional. Having the owner walk around and check on you is a rare thing. Not once but three times. Beer selection is wide and the whiskey selection is fantastic. I had the burnt ends which practically melted in my mouth. Awesome flavor and smoke. The wife had bologna, her thing and loved it. She really likes their slaw. I've tried BB several times over the last 20+ years. I really want to like it....I just don't. I've kept giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm done. Last night is my last time to go. First off the prices are very high. Second the servings are very small. The Cowboy beans were not eatable, they tasted burnt but were not fully cooked and someone had dumped black pepper in them. I got two very small fat pieces of brisket which was supposed to be 1/3 of a pound. The brisket tasted like salt. I had to use lots of sauce to be able to eat it. The potato salad was ok but on the small side too. I live here and would probably come here at least twice a month if the food was better. Another time I went just to get a to go order of black berry cobbler. It was $8/9 and it was about 1/4 of a cup that was mostly breading. I was shocked and have never ordered it again. I don't usually leave bad reviews but just wanted to warn people. I'll eat my BBQ somewhere else. read more
