Ive wanted to go axe throwing for the longest time! We came here on a Saturday night for our girls night out. I had never been and as I walked in, I was a little nervy but all of that went away as soon as we checked in, got drinks and were taken to our lanes. The guy running the location that night was super friendly and walked us thru the process. He was great and checked in on us through the process. We had a great time chatting and axe throwing! We did the 45 minute unlimited and did not have reservations. We found that 45 minutes was more than enough time to enjoy and perfect one's axe throwing. We will be back! read more

We came to Bad Axe as part of our sixth wedding anniversary weekend away (I mean 6th anniversary gift is iron so...). We had a TON of fun. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not crowded at all. Quickly got a lane, some drinks, and a quick tutorial. The facilities were all clean and the staff was sure to swing by, cheer you on, and even give additional tips and tricks for other fun ways to swing an axe (or throw a knife). I had wanted to go axe throwing for the longest!! My boyfriend suggested that we go on a date here and I agreed. There isn't free parking onsite so you'll have to pay or park and then walk. When we entered the atmosphere was open and inviting. The man working was very friendly and answered any questions that we had. He offered drink selections. He showed us our area and gave us instructions. I let him know that I'd never done any axe throwing and I was nervous about throwing it. He watched us for the first few throws and gave instructions and guided us. As we played he told us about some of the games that we could play. We tried "Cornhole" it was a LOT of fun. Toward the end, the worker told us of some other throwing methods. We freestyled for the last ten minutes and I got both targets!! It's ok expensive to chuck an ax for 45 min but if it's your thing than go for it just beer and some wine. That's about all I can say.

Fun to try this out for the first time over the weekend. it was not busy and we were able to walk in and get a spot for 4! They serve some drinks, we ate before so not sure on food options. it could have had music playing in the background maybe something fun to make it a little more up beat. Had a little confusion on the location since it was at ratchets to the parking garage. Might be back with more friends again. The staff at Bad Axe Charlotte are so incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. While visiting other axe throwing facilities, you're given initial instruction and left to it. Not here. The staff makes their rounds helping everyone and the Manager Sam is even the Reigning World Axe Throwing Champ himself, how cool! There's a massive parking deck in the same building AND a parking lot across the street, so no issues there. Leagues started a couple of weeks ago and have been an absolute blast. The community is like no other. So happy to finally have a WATL venue in Charlotte! read more

Place overall was cool, lots of throwing lanes. Had to walk all the way to the back to find someone. Very little signage or directions. Our party enjoyed ourselves, but started off a little annoyed. See below Reservation Policy Sucks------Being proactive, I made a reservation for 4. When we arrived the place was completely empty in which I asked if it would be okay to convert my reservation over into a walk-in. I was told to call customer service, then customer service would have to call someone. Couldn't believe I was being asked to call someone within the establishment. In the end, I was told that our deposit would go towards 2, and the other 2 would pay a walk-in fee. This was not cool, we were only there for 1 hour and had no plans of staying for the 2 hours being our plans changed. Being a small business I understand but this was not cool at all.... To make matters worse, when we left the place was still empty.. My advice to anyone, take your chances walking in. read more

This place is not worth the money. The website says it is "BYOB" but when you get there you find out not only it is not BYOB but their beer selections also sucks. It looks like they sent a college kid to a stop 'n rob and told them "buy 5 cases of beer: three bud lights and two 'craft' options." So you have Bud Light and two crappy IPAs in cans; oh joy! While we were there I observed a manager blatantly ignore customers while doing homework on her laptop and pull an employee away from other customers who were not getting the hang of things. Not only is this poor management it is a safety risk. They do not take cash payments which isn't only annoying it's illegal. The parking sucks. Oh and don't expect to be greeted at the door; you have to walk past multiple throwing lanes to get all the way to the back of the establishment to check in. Again, not only annoying but also a safety issue. I'm positive you would have more fun in your backyard with a $20 axe from Home Depot and a six pack of your favorite beer. read more

It could have been $24. I don't remember. Anyway our coach was super helpful and down to earth. They had some wine, ale, soft drink offerings but no food. He even let us try out the daggers, which I have to say were even more satisfying than the axe when they hit the wood. When we go back, we will for sure upgrade to those!! My son and I recently visited this business and we had an awesome time. We had a little confusion in the beginning as we visited on a Tuesday evening. There was one attendant with a group. Please be sure to check in advance regarding walk-ins. All was resolved and we had a great time. Safety precautions were in place to include masks, sanitation of the axes and social distancing. Horrible customer service!! Made an appointment for a total of 4 people but by default they charge you the highest valued package. We were not informed of this and were charged nearly $200. tried to call and ask why if the walk in price is $27 per person And was told it's our fault for scheduling ahead.... absolutely horrible don't let them scam you!!!! they never informed us until at the end they said we still owe $94 after the Mobil "deposit". ridiculous. read more

Saw that were opening after being postponed due to COVID so I stopped by on the first night. I had a great time, I've thrown at the other axe places in town and this style throwing (WATL) is different and took some getting used to, but the general manager is the reigning world champion and stopped over and gave some tips. The facility is big and beautiful, with great viewing from the sides for your group. The beer selection left something to be desired but I know they hastily opened without much notice did to NC's phased reopening plan, so I'm sure it will get better. Parking uptown is never fun, but they do have 2 huge lots right across the street. Hint, one is 40% cheaper in the evening! I'm sure I'll be back! read more
