BUYER BEWARE OF THEIR SHADY AND POSSIBLE CRIMINAL PRACTICES!!! On 5/16/2020 a Covana GIII Cover Package was purchased in the amount of $8,878.77 and was paid in full. The ETA for delivery was 3-4 weeks. My husband called numerous times and went to the store to find out when the product would be delivered. Each time he was told that due to COVID there was a delay. Last week the story changed and was told that Covana was having manufacturing issues, they were unable to get screws and parts needed to produce the item. On 7/7 was told that they are working on getting us set and should have all the pieces in place. On 7/8 I finally got in touch with Covana and was told that they never received an order from Backyard Masters (see text message attached). I spoke with Dean and he told me that he didn't order the product under his company, he ordered it through his "group". I called Covana again and they don't have any orders pending that match the specifications of my order. So basically, Backyard Masters took my money and never ordered the product and lied to us for two months. My credit card company is doing and investigation and will hopefully reverse the charges soon, but as of now Backyard Masters has my money. I wonder if this would be considered grand theft? read more

On Mother's day we decided to purchase a spa last minute even though we knew the season was coming, quick. From buying with Dean Jr. to the awesome delivery team it was a smoothed event- I was relaxing in my spa in just a few short weeks! When I experienced issues, Dean Jr. was quick to get out the best technician Oscar (REMEMBER his name for your service needs). Not only did he thoroughly trouble shoot, he educated me on the functions of the hot tub 'innerds' as well as the importance of water chemistry and troubleshooting scenarios that New York spa owners may incur. So not only did I walk away from my appointment with a fully functioning spa, I now feel like a fully functioning spa owner! From start to finish everyone of their recommendations were tailored to fit my needs with no hidden agendas. From the bottom of my heart thank you to the whole team! Hello i.m writing this review because I believe that credit is due to the staff of Backyard Masters. My wife and I where thinking about putting a pool in so we went to the store and was approached by Jesse i was only going there to look and listen well after shopping around and going to other pool companies we made our choice n Backyard Masters. Jesse and the staff treated us like family they walked us through every step of the process from the color of pool wall and liner. Jesse even came out to our house to look at the yard to see what would be the best spot to place it and the choice was great cause now i can maximize the other space well. So overall my wife and I highly recommend Backyard Masters if you want to be treated like family. Again from the sales to the installers even through out the winter management and owners included we couldn't of made a better choice. Since going through the process with the purchase of the pool my Wife and I have been back to the store and purchased patio furniture as well again making us feel like family. Stay far away from this company. The absolute worst customer service in the entire universe. Lisa, who claimed to be the customer service manager, does not want to hear any valid complaints, will not listen, will not work with you to resolve the issue. The absolute nastiest person I have every had the displeasure to work with. An inferior installation crew was sent to our home to install a new liner in our pool. The liner was fine, however the technician used a power tool to install a plastic skimmer. As a very experienced mechanic, I know you should never use a power tool to install a plastic item. Needless to say, the skimmer was cracked and the threads were stripped, and therefore the pool was leaking. I requested a new skimmer and was told in no uncertain terms that I was lying and that I was at fault. The mechanic came back 4 times to try to fix it and could not, and I was told that they are not coming back anymore. This company has a policy of charging you in full before the work is performed and now I know why. read more

My husband and I were looking to buy a pool. We wanted an above ground or semi inground. We met Nick in the Farmingdale store and not only did he get us into an amazing semi inground pool but he was so so helpful. We had a ton of questions about this pool. Nick spent multiple days and hours with us explaining everything about our pool from maintenance to ladders to liners etc. He even pulled up our house on google maps because we were not sure about size of our pool and electrical wires that we have In our yard. Nick was extremely knowledgeable and helpful every step of the way. These days it is rare to find good customer service but we sure got lucky when we met Nick. I will be recommending Nick in the Farmingdale store to all of my family and friends looking to purchase a pool or anything for their backyards this summer. I usually only post a review if a place is really good or really bad... I'm pleased to write that Backyard masters is the latter. They are awesome and I can't say enough about how great they are. We recently purchased a Bahama spa hot tub and we are beyond satisfied. Buying a hot tub is a major purchase, so I did a ton of research and visited a number of hot tub stores. Backyard masters offered the friendliest salespeople who are courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Antonio the sales manager worked out a great price for us and arranged financing terms that were beyond my expectations as well. The staff there is always ready to help with any questions even over the phone. Even their install guys were great. Purchased a fiberglass in-ground pool from Dean Jr last April. Pool was shipped up from Florida and lifted into my yard. His site supervisor Jesse was there to oversee the entire installation. Both Dean Jr., and Jesse provided me with the assurance that my install would be performed smoothly/problem free. No job ever goes 100% perfectly but mine almost did! During and after the install both Dean Jr. And Jesse remained in constant contact with me to assist me in operating my equipment. Nothing but good things to say about these guys. Purchasing additional equipment and supplies from Dean Jr. was a pleasure. He was willing to meet my prices on much of the equipment he sold me. He's a true gentleman. When my Tub was delivered the installer did not realize that the cover lift could not be put on once the tub had already been pushed into place inside the hot tub house. My installer kept ducking me and never returned to put the cover lift on as promised. When I told Dean and my sales person what had happened they sent their installer over and had the cover lift installed in no time and free of charge. I also recently had a service issue and they supplied prompt service and the Tech was great. The problem was diagnosed and the repair made...I would recommend Backyard masters to anyone and will be buying my next tub from them...My thanks to Dean and the entire crew over there. Backyard Masters is by far the best choice for me when i purchased my new Artesian south Sea Spa ! i have been enjoying it for 4 months now . The price was great the Staff is very helpful in guiding you with everything from start up & with any questions you may have .they supply all that you need for your hot tub needs . The sales team is great as well they made my buying experience pleasurable. Antonio explained to me what would be a good choice for the amount in my budget and got me into a fantastic Hot tub !! After shopping around for a bit me and my wife just purchased our pool from Backyard Masters. I was recommended to go to Backyard Masters from a neighbor who is has dealt with them and I must say, we are very happy so far. The salesman was very knowledgeable and extremely polite. Me and my wife both thought it was very pleasant and professional that the Owner came out to greet us and thank us for our business. Backyard Masters was for sure the most informative place and easiest to deal with, making this a much easier process than expected and most of all gave us peace of mind. My family and I went to Backyard Masters after they were recommended by a friend of ours. We went to a few other places who had bad-mouthed them and now we know why.. they did NOT want us to go there. Backyard Masters is no comparison to these other places. The showroom is huge, everything was beautiful, prices were fantastic, and the service was even better. I went in there to buy a pool and came out with a brand new backyard. We got a fiberglass in ground pool, hot tub, furniture, and in the process of designing our own custom outdoor island. Their ideas and designs are exremely creative and made my backyard better than I could have ever imagined. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! It is nothing but a scam. I ordered a hot tub from Antonio it took weeks and weeks later than it was expectedto get it in , I didn't get it until after the summer was basically over and then when it came it wasn't the one I ordered. I have been told I would get money off for the past two months and keep getting emails from the owner telling me they're processing my order and I'm still not received the money back. I will be contacting the better business Bureau , taking them to smalls claims court as well as fighting the charge on my credit card because I have all the emails proving that they did not give me what I paid for. read more

RUN!!!!!! DO NOT WALK FROM THEM!!!!! Spent over $7000 on pool & set up and within 4 years the galvanized steel wall of the pool (which has a 10 year warranty....) developed a rusted out hole a little bigger than the size of a quarter that is ABOVE The water line.........., and they are fighting me because the hole is rusted, and the warranty doesn't cover rust!!!!??????? ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO RUST!!!!!!! That's my complaint and I have been put through a run around for 8 months now!!!!!!! What a showroom! You won't a see a showroom like this anywhere else, and I have shopped around. Thank you to Sherrie in the patio department for a great deal on my furniture. I can't wait to do my kitchen with backyard masters next spring. The store is REALLY big, a lot bigger than it appears outside. There are 2 gorgeous inground pools IN THE GROUND inside of the store! I saw a bunch more pools as well but I wasn't pool shopping yet so didn't go too crazy looking at all of them. You will be extremely impressed with backyard masters. We recently purchased a Dynasty hot tub from Backyard Masters. The Sales team was very knowledgeable and eager to assist us. When we scheduled a delivery date after purchase we were given an arrival date for the spa. After leaving the store, we did have some additional questions about our purchase and Lisa, the Customer Service Manager was very helpful in answering our questions and resolving any issues we had. Maria, Elise and Dustin were wonderful as we did our complete backyard makeover. Maria, who is very knowledgeable about the various semi-inground pools helped us select the 12" X 24" Doughboy Desert Spring. Alex the installer did a very professional job of installation. Elise worked with my wife to select backyard furniture. She spent almost three hours with her selecting just the right table, chairs, seating and pillows. Elise also help me select a new grill for my outdoor kitchen. Dustin coordinated the delivery and the team unpacked my furniture and place all the items where we wanted them. I had a great experience!! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly!! Our sales person, Antonio, explained the pool systems available and options in great detail. That helped me make the decision on which pool type and maintenance system to buy. He proposed a comprehensive pool package. Which we went over and finalized the package. The pool was delivered as promised, first week of July. We enjoyed the pool for the season without any issues. We will be closing the pool this weekend. I picked up the winter cover and accessories this weekend. The store had everything in stock and at good prices. read more
