Maria, Dean and the team worked with me on my needs, educated my on my options, and we ultimately chose the best item for me. A brand new 14ft Swim Spa. Throughout the process, the team was not pushy but did followup and remain engaged with me. They heard my cost concerns and worked on options for me based on my budget. So we brought our pool six years ago from this joke of a place. They took our money and said we have a thirty year warranty. After the first season the pool started rusting out. When we call backyard maters they said you're out of luck the company who made the pool is out of business. They would not do a thing for us. The third year we had to empty and scrub the walls. We were getting burnt from the rust slipping into the water. We did this for the next two years. This year we took the cover off. Completely rusted out. Parts of the pool are missing because of the rust. Sis years old. We had our last pool for seventeen years. Not on problem. DISGRACEFUL. DO NOT BUY FROM BACKYARD MASTERS. The installer recommended by Backyard Master's was absolutely the worst. If you don't use their installer then they will not warranty the pool. When the manager was confronted she took the installers side. They left our yard a mess and removed 20yards of topsoil after being told not to and demanded payment in cash to continue installing our pool. We now have a landscaping company scheduled to fix what they destroyed. The filter still is not working correctly (leaking and they installed the valve incorrectly marked). They also destroyed a 20 year old fig tree that they were told to protect on their last day there while we were at work. read more

Customer service is terrible. There is never a manager available to take a phone call. Always on break or off. Promise a phone call back and never get. Been waiting for a warranty part on a spa for 2 months. After originally being told it would be in within a week, I was then told it shipped from NJ. Then told it did not ship. Then told it shipped from Belgium. Apparently, that never happened either. It's been one empty promise and BS response after another. I will not spend another dollar at this store. We bought a 26x15 pool on May 31st and it was installed on June 26th. Dealing with sales was a wonderful experience, I didn't feel pressured or rushed in any way, Antonio did a wonderful job. The rest of the staff were as helpful as they could be during the weeks between purchase and install, I must of called 30 times trying to narrow down my installation date as we originally purchased a smaller pool and then upgraded a few days later. I will admit, trying to get an exact date is tough but I understand now they are dealing with ordering from the manufacturer and cannot guarantee anything. Maria at the desk was very helpful in setting me straight with my timeline and their installer John was also extremely professional and did an amazing job. We love the pool and have experienced 0 issues. I was very prepared for what others have mentioned regarding a messy yard after the install as both John and Antonio alerted me to the fact that they do not remove the dirt that is dug up and it's up to me to have it removed. I also didn't expect a fully opened pool at the end of the day as I knew it would take 24-36 hours to fill. That left me with plenty of time to put my steps together myself, something that was also explained to me from the get-go. All in all, I would absolutely buy from Backyard Masters again and would recommend them to others. They were helpful when I needed them and firm in setting my expectations. My wife and I went to Backyard Masters at 912 Broadhollow Rd Farmingdale NY looking for outdoor furniture. After walking into the store and a woman, who we later learned was Lisa the customer service manager then yelled from the front desk can she help us, we were net even near her. We informed her this was our first day out looking for furniture and we were just browsing, and we didn't need help at this time. Within two minutes she was back stating she had to tell us to be careful that there were steps throughout the store and again started into a sales pitch, once again we stated we would just like to look around. After another two minutes we sat down to test a furniture set and she again comes running over to tell us how long they have been there and starts once again with her sales pitch. My wife asked if she would just leave us alone so we could just browse and at that point she said we were very unprofessional. At that point I looked at my wife pointed to the door and said we're out of here. The sad thing was we liked some of the furniture but at that point HATED the sales manager, if she really was the manager. I find it amazing that this woman called us unprofessional when she does not understand how to deal with people. The pool itself is a great pool and my family is very happy with it. I purchased my hot tub back in December of 2020 from Backyard Masters and It was delivered just over a week ago. The hot tub is wonderful and everything I wanted. Backyard Masters did an awesome job from start to finish. The maintenance on the hot tub is so much easier than what I was used to with my old one. We bought a pool from this place and had trouble from the beginning. We called them to tell them the filter was leaking and they very reluctantly sent someone over that didn't fix the problem. We also told them we were losing a lot of water, over an inch a day and they never called us back. Finally we had a company come over and dive in the pool only to find 9 leaks in the liner. When we called Backyard Masters back to tell them they said they would get back to us the next day and after 4 days we had to call them back only to be told we had to wait to see what the mfr. would do. I ordered my pool in December and scheduled delivery in June, with installation scheduled the day after delivery. The pool was delivered on a pallet wrapped in plastic. The next day installer came and ripped up the ground to prep for the install, at the same time one of the crew started unboxing the pool parts and placing them all over my backyard. The installer also put up a small pool and started filling it with water that would be used later to help expedite the filling of the new pool. After working for a couple of hours, the installer approach me to tell me that they were missing hardware to put the pool together. Because of the lack of hardware the installer had to leave the job. They left with parts still all over my yard, and dumped the particles-filled pool. He said they would pick up the parts and return later to finish the installation. Around 4:30 without hearing from the installer my wife and I had to clean up the mess in my yard. At 5:30 the day of the install I contacted Backyard Master to explain the problem and was told by the salesman that the warehouse was out of the hardware and knew they were shorting me but should have alerted me and the installer on the shortage, but that never happened. He then said they would order the parts from Canada and should be in by the next Tuesday or Wednesday. The next Wednesday, no parts, no call. I called for a status update on the missing parts and was told they knew nothing about any missing parts and would look into it. On Thursday, without hearing back again I called to get a status update and was told Lisa would call me back, which she did and told me that she just ordered the parts and it would be another week before they came in. I did not get an apology for the inconvenience they put me through all I got from Lisa was thank god it's just about a pool and not a call about cancer or a heart attack. DO NOT BUY A POOL FROM THIS COMPANY. I was promised the inground pool to be installed in 3 weeks. It took 4 months. Problems included 1) Pool was not square 2) Liner had rocks under it. 3) liner was not properly installed. 4) Wall has shifted and slid. Footing was not done properly. 5) Left a hole in the backyard for months and didn't come back for months. Never returned phone calls. 6) Destroyed our fence and neighbors fence. 7) Destroyed kids toys in the backyard. 8) Workers would leave the job and work on a construction job next door (absolutely no supervision on the job) 9) Filter broke in 2 months. Took over a month to get someone to replace. Took time for them to call us back 10) Installed the pool heater too close to the house, had to renew permits, due to the length of time for them to come to repair. Ended up costing us more money since we had to hook the gas up again ourselves. 11) Not even two years in to the pool installed, the LED lights broke in the pool. Called, texted, and went to the store in october 2018 to have help. Nothing (now may 2019). I even offered to install the replacements myself, if I can only get the serial numbers from them. Nothing. Not even to give me the serial numbers, so I can do the exchange with JANDY and install them myself. No body in this store takes ownership of anything that goes wrong. Always someone else's fault. Bought a pool from them in April 2021. Once They got my deposit they could care less about me. Gave me names of installers that only wanted to install if I was not getting a permit. When I called to complain about the installers. They said they have nothing to do with the installers. But yet they recommend them They were no help at all. My advice stay away from them. Unfortunately now I see all the negative reviews that I wish I saw before I bought my pool.
