I purchased 3 umbrellas last summer. I spent over $3000 plus a delivery fee. The delivery company had no idea how to put together the cantilever umbrella, which should have been my first clue that this was not a top rated outdoor furniture business. The only reason I ordered from them was because I wanted to match what I already purchased elsewhere.. Long story short.....they couldn't care less that I was having issues on how their product, they delivered the goods & they got their $. The furniture is nice- very expensive. Spent well over 5,000 for that and a fire-pit, you would think they would have responsive and respectful customer service. We purchased the full Sanibel set and the chair is very uneven. I have been put in touch with an email for customer service (7 days ago)- still NO response. Worse, the salesperson Julia (Farmingdale) gave me a card and encouraged me to let her know if I needed anything. When I asked for help she was rude with her response. I was not surprised as I felt rushed and disrespected during the purchase of the set and should have gone to one of their other stores. I had a bad feeling with her professionalism before I left the store. I strongly recommend going to a different location! I plan to call management to share the overall experience. read more

I probably should have read the reviews before making a purchase but alas I did not. I Took my mother to purchase dining furniture and she decided on The Loft dining set. The delivery and setup in January was fine but upon discussion with mom in April she happened to mentioned how much she disliked her purchase and how annoying it was to eat at the table. She said the chair backs were uncomfortable and the table is uneven so plates and dishes wobble when you set them down to eat. I immediately contacted the store because the website says there is a 1 year warranty on all furniture for manufacturing defects and this surely must be a defect! I was given an email address to send my concerns to, which I did which included a video of the wobbly place settings. After 10 days of no response I called back and after some searching, they found my email. I voiced my displeasure in the set and while I realized they would not take it back (even though it is in pristine condition, always covered since received) I was at least hoping for them to come and fix the problem. We ordered a Sag Harbor sofa about a month ago and noted it was in stock and we would be called for delivery. The delivery company called and a delivery date was set for April 7, between 3-7pm. I confirmed and waited & waited. The delivery never showed. After voicing my displeasure the next morning, I received a phone call from Peter himself. Not only was he appalled at what he happened, he promised to have my delivery sent right away. And in fact it was. The sign of a great company & ownership is not only how they deal with the great things, but how they deal with the bad. I'm so impressed with & happy how everything worked out for us! Awful customer service. I went in and found a couch I loved. I needed to make sure it fit in my space so they gave me a 24 hour hold. they had me sign paperwork to make process easier for when I called with my CC. They then called me 4 hours later while I was at work and unable to answer And left me a message saying that there was a customer wanting the couch now. Stay away! We ordered furniture for our new home in November 2020, with a estimated delivery date of April 2021. We understood the delay because of COVID and patiently awaited. When April came and went, we called the store and were told that the new delivery date would be in May. May came and went and we called and we were told June...you get the pattern here month after month. Today I was told we will be notified in August of our delivery date. Each time we communicated with the store, WE initiated contact. Not one single time did they call us to update the delivery date, despite our having put down over $1,000 in deposit in November 2020. Love this store! I have bought a few pieces from them for my dinning room and living room. Jason was a great help in helping me choose a side table to match the coffee table I had ordered previously My piece came in a little ahead of schedule and I told Jason I was having surgery and would like to know if the table could be delivered earlier. After two months of back and forth sally anne lied in order to get the commission on a sale of chairs she never had in stock. I had the most HORRIBLE experience with Peter Andrews in Farmingdale and Huntington. I ordered a house full of furniture, EVERYTHING arrived dirty and damaged. Some pieces were even unassembled. Peter Andrews did not dispute the damage as it was clear in all the photos I sent them. They took all the furniture back and the manager Diane assured me I would receive a refund later that week. Diane emailed me a few days later and said the owners decided they would not be refunding me. They took back ALL the furniture, and decided to also keep my money. I called the owners daily but they would not take my calls or respond to my emails. I moved forward with an AMEX dispute, and thankfully months later, my money has been returned. I am posting because I do not want anyone else to go through this. This has been a complete nightmare! I wish I could post "0" stars but that is not an option. read more

Fine furniture? I think not...In February, I ordered a small occasional table to complete a room that I had redone. I finally had the privilege of picking up this table at the Farmingdale warehouse yesterday, 6 months after my order!. The table was 141 dollars, paid for since February and promised in 3 to 4 weeks at time of sale. I had called this company every week or two during the past 6 months and when I finally decided that I had enough and was requesting a refund which had to go through every manager and perhaps God above, the table came in the following week. So I go to Farmingdale to pick up this treasure that I waited so long for and I get a small cardboard box from China! Today I assembled it and it is OK but certainly not worth the aggravation and price. I will say the sales staff and manager at the East Northport store were quite nice, however whoever answers the phone at the distribution center is another story.... What a joke! I ordered furniture on 1/16/22 was called that the set is in and scheduled delivery 3/12/22. When they show up they are missing a piece you received a phone call. No I didn't I would of never scheduled delivery without all the pieces. I have been calling every two weeks since then and on 4/22/22 I was told the piece is in and the delivery company will be in touch in a week. Well that never happened kept calling. Finally the delivery company calls me after I did more leg work. They scheduled me for delivery on 5/21/22. Friday afternoon got a text and phone call that I am scheduled for delivery 5pm-7pm haha funny usually it's earlier but I waited and no show no phone call. I called delivery company today and they said oh the piece is not in sorry we should of called. I said the piece has been in your warehouse since 4/22/22 and she tells me no so I call the store again and they safely it's in the warehouse. Don't waste your time and energy with this store! We purchased a couch from you on Sept 11, 2016, while we were confirguiring the couch. My mother andi asked if there was a deliver charge for the couch to the hamptons where we live and we were told no only to NYC but not the hamptons. While we were writing up our order we were sitting on the couch across from the register. We over heard them speaking of a deliver charge and we began to question why there was one when we were told there was none. We had Lorraine and another women helping us i dont remember her name. However, she was the one that told us there was no delivery charge to the hamptons. Then fast foward to wednesday see email below. I recieve this email about how the couch with a left arm chaise would only have 27" between and that they could upgrade it to a armless loveseat which would be no cost to them just me and that they would "EAT" the $300 difference in price. My response was I need to go measure the area, it in fact didnt fit. So I spoke with jason told him that we would have to go with the original design due to the lack of space. I then proceded to ask if that they was being done because of delievery issue he said that he would have diane call me on saturday and we can see if we can get something worked out for us. Saturday Came NO CALL Monday Sept19th Called at 12:34pm Asked to speak to diane she wasnt available she was in the store but not at the front desk. I left a message. NO call back. Sept 20th Tuesday I called at 3:58 pm asked to speak to diane she wasnt available spoke with lorraine left messge for diane. At 4:03 on the same tuesday i got a call back from lorraine she left a voicemail on my phone stating " I just spoke with diane and she said were going to take $100 off your order hope your happy with this and questions call back". Tuesday 4:06pm I called back very disatified with this, 1st you offer to eat $300 on a loveseat that would be larger because of only having 27" of space between a left arm chaise and main portion of couch. Then to say im going take $100 off because were trying to accomandate you and the mistake of telling us there was no delivery charge. I feel like you offer one thing that would better the situation and then when that doesnt work we just take $100 bucks off. How did we go from $300 to $100. its an insult i came to you with high recomendations and now thereis a very bitter taste in my month. I'm Very Disatisfied with the Diane the Manager and the with Sale associates that helped us. I've tried to handle this without having to email anyone. I ended up having to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs because, after taking $3200 of my money for a fire pit chat set and cantilever umbrella, I couldn't get customer service to either return a phone call or answer an email. I suspect that I paid full price for old floor samples and the absence of any documentation, manual or packaging for either purchase did nothing to allay my suspicions. Without the documentation, I couldn't even sign up for a the manufacturer's warranty. Also, the advertised weather cover for the chat set wasn't provided. When I told the saleswoman who I dealt with about the missing cover, she just told me that there was a mistake in the advertisement and inferred that it was my problem, not the store's. Then she told me a story about how one of the employees had the same set and hadn't covered it for years, as though I should just be content not to get what I paid for because I didn't really need it. Also, I wasn't happy to learn that there are no returns except for store credit so Peter Andrews really gets you coming and going. read more

I have purchased many smaller items over the years from Peter Andrews, and never had an issue. However, I recently purchased a sectional (over $6k) and the experience was a complete disaster. I will never shop here again, nor recommend to anyone. We ordered the section in January 2016 - but did not need delivery until May, when we moved into our new home. So we gave them 5 months to put this together. Day of delivery comes - and the section is different fabrics. Which boggles the mind - half of them are in the fabric we ordered, and half are in a color at the opposite end of the spectrum. It's a sectional. Who gets different colors? Obviously, ZERO quality control. I refused delivery and then the fun began. Forget the fact I had nowhere to sit....long story short, it took one MONTH for them to refabricate and deliver the correct couch. Along the way was miscommunication or poor communication from management, a return of the delivery fee (only concession that they made), and unfulfilled promises. Shame as the salespeople in the store are very nice and knowledgeable, but the corporation itself is a nightmare. Nightmare. Never again. If you are buying something you are going to walk out with, great, but don't order any large pieces from these people. read more

I went in to buy a chair and ended up buying 2 couches to match! LOL. The salesman I worked with in Farmingdale, Jason, was absolutely fantastic! He helped me coordinate the colors of the chair to the couch and pillows the curtains in my living room. He was always available by phone to answer questions and so friendly and knowledgeable. It was a little pricy, as was the shipping, but that's the type of store that it is. We gave her dimensions and an idea of the style we were looking for and she was amazing! She gave us great ideas and made sure the furniture fit appropriately in the apartment. She was also helpful after delivery. We had an issue where a certain piece would not fit in the elevator for delivery and she helped us get in touch with a service to help us with our problem. I had always thought that the furniture at Peter Andrews might be too large for our room and our budget, but their stock includes pieces at various sizes, styles, and price points. The sales associate, Julia, knew just what to show us when I said we had space issues in our smallish den. She clearly explained our options, and while we did not feel rushed, we didn't feel pressured or up-sold, either. She's good with colors, too, which helped with planning the sofa in coordination with existing pieces. Another impressive aspect of our Peter Andrews experience was the customer service. We had a communication glitch with the delivery company, and Diane, the general manager at Peter Andrews, addressed it immediately. The girl who picked up tried to get me in touch with a sales representative, however all of the salespeople were busy. The girl went out of her way to find some wine glasses that I had been looking for. It may have taken a while however she put the glasses aside for me so I could come and pick them up the next day. So I went in on Sunday and picked up the wine glasses. When I got to the store, I was happy that this girl didn't put me with a sales person. All the salespeople were very rude and up tight. Besides the general rudeness of the salespeople, the girl who picked up the phone was working there that day, she was so nice and made sure that all the glasses were clean and in good condition for me. read more

I shopped at the Huntington station location many years ago and was treated so poorly it took me at least fifteen years to give the store another try. While shopping with my daughter yesterday I overheard the staff speaking to each other so rudely that I was disgusted and amazed. The sales girl dropped and broke a glass, she called for help. The person she called said no, three other sales associates walked over and said "what did you touch it for" and walked away without helping. The store is so over crowded with merchandise that you need to back out of the aisle to let customers pass. They have a lot of cute things in the store and I could probably spend a fortune there but won't because it's not a fun happy shopping experience. Shop here only if you want to walk out feeling stressed. Such a shame. read more
