I'm not familiar with the online auction process but through a series of emails, Gina the owner talked me through registration and how bidding increments work. That said, I won a few things. I was supposed to pick up my winnings today but that was impossible due to the storm. As per her usual Gina was well prepared and reached out to us with alternatives. She set up a new day for us to retrieve our things and if that didn't work, she graciously offered everyone her shop as an alternative. As I said, I am new to the auction world, but I will participate in future ones. Just to be clear, an auction does not compare to the inventory in her store. If you want true quality, just go straight to Silvercreek.

A "new shipment" of antiques had just arrived and we were there as each new item was being unveiled. The owner kept apologizing for her shop being in disarray to make room for the new things, it wasn't, and we were totally loving it. We found some surprisingly rare things and had the best time. I stop by every few weeks or so, and I always find something amazing. But this weekend was truly over the top.

From paint, to hardware, to instructions. I had an old piece that came with my house when I moved in. It didn't fit my style or the decor. After showing Amanda pictures on my phone of the piece and the room it was in, she helped set me up with the paint, wax, and brushes, and gave me a little in store tutorial so I could paint my piece with confidence. I was still super nervous when doing it on my own at home, but thanks to my in-store prep and questions, I successfully transformed my piece to something I love that truly reflects my style. Even if you don't have an old piece to DIY, you can still purchase gorgeous pieces redone by the team there. The shop also has antiques, decor items, and even has regular events to DIY your own items like seasonal wreaths and other home decor.

Filled with tchotchkes, vintage ideas, local artisan crafts, and so much more, it really lives up to its name of wit and whim. The two people working at the store were incredibly friendly and did such a wonderful job gift-wrapping the gifts I purchased and I picked up a bunch of business cards from local creators that I wanted to follow and see what else they have in store. A lot of the items don't have prices listed, so you do have to ask which was my only minor grievance. I will definitely make a few more trips here, especially for gifts, when the need arises.

I walked in and the aroma was breathtaking! I asked what the scent was and it was "Winter Forest" by Cow Harbor Candle Co. I bought one little candle to take home to NV. Burning the candle at home, I just couldn't get enough. They were out of Winter Forest, so I ordered an assortment of different scents from the same maker. Unfortunately, when they arrived a few were broken. I spoke to the owner, Jacquelyn, and she immediately replaced the broken candles at no charge, no questions whatsoever. They texted me when more Winter Forest was available. I order more of those too. I think I've gotten about 8 candles and I have to say that these are the BEST SCENTED CANDLES I've EVER had the pleasure to enjoy! Highly recommend this shop, the customer service is fantastic, and I hope to visit Huntington and Wit & Whim again next year. Also, wow has Huntington grown (well of course, in 50 years!) Gorgeous area. And, yes, I found my grandparents home. It's not the same, but I found it!! Ahhh, the childhood memories!!!
