There was a guy there I told him when I came for he called the owner and put me in the direction of where it should have been. He didn't give me any help looking for it after looking for about a half hour I couldn't find it. I again inquired as to where could have been instead of coming over and helping me he just pointed in the direction again. There was no one else in the store it's not like he was busy. Wandering in to LIFEC's space is like going through a giant garage sale in an senior apartment complex basement at the end of the month when everyone moves out. Sure, there's junk but you'll also stumble upon so. many. TREASURES! Do you have an empty bedroom that needs something of interest? They probably have a set of nightstands, or a bench to put your shoes on. Maybe even a swanky vintage dresser from the 40s? Live out your mid century modern dreams, or collect pieces to create your own story. I've wandered in to search for props for parties (maps, globes, vintage luggage for a bridal shower!), to fill the gap in spaces in my own place (unique beer steins are where it's at) and even to get some basics (A set of folding chairs! A must have PRE-COVID). Prices are higher than a garage sale, for sure. I know you CAN haggle with them but I honestly won't. They're a charity/nonprofit. The last time I spoke with the owner I could tell both him and his staff had huge hearts. They are dedicated, provide personalized assistance and care about their consigners and buyers. They truly want the best outcome for all. Although it is second hand store, they only accept first quality high end items and unusual finds, which makes shopping and consigning such a positive experience. They have an amazing eye and have curated an inventory filled with items that you will rarely find anywhere else. The Items are often posted on Instagram so you are always up-to-date on what pieces are coming in, another unique feature. Calling all kinds of customers, including Stagers and Decorators. I can see that nobody gives a crap about this place with so few reviews but whatever…read more I returned here after being away for a while and my last visit here was many months ago - the placed seemed half empty (or half FULL if you like). I can tell vendors were "pulling out". But things kinda (?) changed here . They now are back to being FULL again however - but all the prices are very high now! The dealers here seem to do what ALL DOPEY ANTIQUE DEALERSHIPS do : They blindly look up prices on ebay or the internet . This is not a good practice because PRICES ARE FLUID on collectibles and antiques. Always were , always will be. Again, it's all about not caring / not wanting to "move things along" - this is what retired vendors & dealers do. They probably have a pension check coming in and don't REALLY need the extra money. The staff here was less than helpful, less than friendly , less than knowledgeable and now sit "Floyd's Baber Shop" style with a round kitchen table in the middle of the store -- and you can hear all their takes on recent current events and the news . Oh wonderful ! I did buy a few OK / lower priced things here but I hope the dealers involved can get their act together and lower some of the stupid old fashioned prices on junk like Flintstones jelly glasses and old magazines that are collecting dust . (Crazy Prices of note: One average fashion magazine from the 1960s -- it was Vogue or something- was marked $75.00 . So it clearly was somebody looking up internet prices - saw one rare issue of Italian Vogue - either sold or was merely asking for $75.00 - and bingo : he thinks his is ALSO worth $75.00 ). Stupid.
