Backyard has good food as well as the service. I recommend this over another food truck which I will not name.

The bread was incredible and the beet ricotta was so unique. I loved the salad which had an apple puree and blue cheese - flavors paired perfectly. The splin was excellent and the duck was good. We aren't huge duck fans but the duck leg and duck sausage were decent! Dessert had a great cherry flavor. Overall, super impressed by the food and top-notch service. Wine selection was excellent as well. Our only knock was that we were seated close to the door, so we had a few chilly moments! But worth it for this meal.

The only way to get a table is to book far in advance through Instagram. Also keep in mind everything I'm about to talk about below may never be on your menu as it's different every week. First course was a tartine featuring sardines, pickled fennel, and kalamata olives. A salty, but bright dish that finished with a subtle licorice spice. Second course was a lentil salad with cooked lentils, pickled celery, roasted fennel, lemon juice, goat cheese, and quick fried lentils on top to add a surprising crunch. My favorite of the courses. The acid from the lemon juice and the fat from the goat cheese was heaven on earth. Third course was a bouillabaisse of monk fish, pearl onions, and potatoes in a salty and savory, saffron tomato sauce topped with small dollops fresh aioli. Fourth course was an entire sole done so perfectly it melted in your mouth, covered in a lemon tarragon cream, and sprinkled with bread crumbs. Fifth course was a Paris-Brest filled with praline cream, spotted with sunflower seeds then dusted with powdered sugar. A very light and delicate end to a wonderful meal. This was more than just a dinner out on a Saturday night, it was an experience to be shared with your best friends or a romantic partner. My ONLY wish is for a wine pairing with each dish as an optional menu upgrade from the set price.

I mean what kid wouldn't be excited for that? So many freshly-made options to choose from, and this one was a winner. Definitely a very sweet-treat, and worth splitting a handful of ways, but boy was it tasty! I also grabbed a latte for myself, which I always enjoy here. I will say however, I wish they had other milk options beyond oat and whole milk. I say this with no means to complain, but both of those milk are very 'heavy' so whenever something like skim or almond is available, that's a personal preference for sure. Love the community feel here, love the goodies, will return.

They had a variety of baked goods to choose from- we opted for the cinnamon roll and the seasonal danish. We also ordered a cappuccino and an americano. The baked goods we had were okay. We were disappointed they wouldn't heat up the cinnamon roll, the reason they gave us was because the frosting would run and be messy. So the cinnamon roll wasn't very enjoyable. I liked the filling on the seasonal danish but I asked for it heated up and it was served at room temp. The coffee was good- we both thought it was weak for our liking but it had good flavor. Also to note, this place is very family-friendly. When we were in, there were a lot of children and families enjoying the space. I would love to come back and try the monkey bread; they were sold out when we arrived this morning and we were told it's a top-seller.

We ordered a 12 pack of doughnut and were able to pick 4 flavors. The s'mores ones were amazing! We also really liked the puppy chow. I didn't think much of it but after our doughnuts were delivered, staff asked her if she wanted powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar doughnuts to go for her birthday. She loved getting to leave with an extra treat. We had fun playing pinball while we waited and one of my nieces commented on how she really liked the vibe of the place. The selection of donuts looked delicious so I placed an order for a six-pack of donuts. Got to pick out three different flavors. Wait time was a ridiculous but i gave them a break due to the high traffic from the event going on outside. When I finally got my order I had to laugh. These donuts were the size of donut holes. One bite donuts? No exaggeration, I paid a premium price for full size donuts and I all I got were bite size dough balls. I was mad as a Danzig at a Bulletboys concert. Don't waste your time with this place. Happy Dough Lucky is just happy to take your dough. No luck involved.

The only reservation we could get was 4:30PM but we were excited we were able to get in at any time. Because of the timing, the sun was setting over the water, which was really pretty to see. I got a little confused with where to enter the building and I guess I went in the wrong way because I walked down the dock and entered the back of the restaurant by the restrooms, lol. Barnacle Bud's had a cool decor vibe and moody lighting. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and you could tell she was very excited about the menu and the pop-up experience. She provided exceptional customer service- she went over the menu thoroughly, came back to check on us multiple times, and always refilled our water, which I always appreciate! To start, we ordered wine and the relish tray. Everything on the relish tray was a little too vinegary for me but most of the table enjoyed it. However, the four of us didn't finish it. It was pretty powerful with vinegar flavor. For an entree, I had the salmon with veggies and my friends ordered the lamb chops, carbonara, and a vegetarian friend ordered a plate of Bud's potatoes and veggies. The food was good but I thought mine was very salty. And I'm glad I ordered my sauce on the side. For dessert, the four of us shared the mousse, which had good flavor and texture. Also to note, there were up-charges for veggies, sauce was $3 extra, etc., so just pay attention to pricing if that's a concern for you. Overall, it was a unique experience and worth checking out.

The fluffy & slightly chewy and doughy texture gives me a weird satisfying feeling. However, I just feel the flavors are a bit off - it's like there's just a layer of sweet glaze on the outside. The blue/green glaze in the donuts in my order is also very runny and watery. And based on my experiences, the donuts must be finished like within a day (best to try immediately) - otherwise the glaze is off the donut. Will be happy to return and try more to support the vegan donut idea!

The dough of the donuts themselves have a great flavor. And they are quite hearty and filling too! Instead, they opened a location in Brown Deer, which I guess isn't super far away. I ordered a $19 combo platter of spareribs and smoked chicken thighs with sides of BBQ rice and (for $2 more) hand cut fries. I upgraded to the corn bread muffin for a $1 extra (which they didn't bother including in the to go bag) and added three smoked wings to the combo platter for $5. I also got a $9 side of smoked gouda mac and cheese. My initial reaction when I opened the $27 combo platter container was "really, that's it"? Now, to be fair, the chicken was de-boned, so that took up less room, and I'll again mention they didn't give me the corn bread muffin I ordered so that would have taken up some space. Plus, the wings in the container were extra, so without those it would look even skimpier albeit slightly cheaper priced. All that said, the meats tasted good and had nice smoke flavor. I enjoyed their BBQ sauce, which I appreciate coming on the side for dipping. The rice was a little hard, but still edible. I thought the smoked gouda mac and cheese was great, but it's a tad pricey for a side item.
