You Can't visit the birds like we used to years ago and the gal wanted me to buy pounds of food. I…read moreonly wanted some samples because my rescue cockatiel is not adventurous with trying new food. I'm glad I didn't get more because he won't eat most of it. This used to be my go too place 20? Years ago. I hope she's able to stay open as long as she wants to be. She seemed a little unhappy I didn't purchase more. I'm sure sales are hard now with online ordering. Maybe if she made it more fun to go in there'd be more visitors.

Bev once again was amazing with my crabby African Grey, Gizmo. And Bella, my friends Umbrella…read moreCockatoo. She wrapped Gizmo like a pro and started trimming & filing. Gizmo's head popped out from under the towel, and she bit Beverly. I'm so sorry Bev, at least it was just a nip, not a full on bite. Just a warning shot, as you said . Within 2 minutes Gizmo was rolled free into her cage , promptly shook off with a "woo, holy shit" And NO I did not teach my bird to have a potty mouth. Gizmo is 43. I have had her since I was 8yo and she had just hatched. So she has an immense vocabulary! Bella was next. She went a little easier. I was able to get a better look at her. When she had first come to my house Friday, I thought to myself, yep girlfriend needs a bath! And Bev said the same thing today. She doesn't like the spray bottle per her owner. So she has to go in the shower with me. I have ALS, so that will be interesting She had her nails trimmed and filed by Bev and did amazing. No screaming or biting! Super Mello. My friend Rene, put her back in her cage herself. It was $11, for EACH , a Grey and a Umbrella. So $22 Total. That is just for NAIL trims. And just as a reminder Bev sells the top food brands. She also ships, which is awesome for me as I have ALS and live almost in Camas,WA. I don't really drive anymore. My transportation caregiver that gets me around during the week. She and I have become really good friends and she is the one who brought me out today, thank goodness. Gizmo, my Grey, had prison shanks for claws, and Bella could catch her own fish in the Lewis River with her Talons. There is no longer a Parrot store in Vancouver. And months before that, their grooming shop was closed. Hope this helps Parrot People!

The only reason why I don't give Bird Hut 5 stars is because I wish they would get a bigger place…read morefor their birds and expand their business to other areas. I've done business with them a few times and I've never gone away unhappy. I adopted two Quakers from them over the last seven years. The first one "buddy" who turned out to be a girl... was a rehome that had to be relinquished after 10 years. I had that bird for six years until it sadly passed away in an accident. The second was also a rehome who I adopted two years ago after that tragic accident. It was a bird they did not have any history on. The bird came from very bad circumstances when I took it to the vet it had suffered from a lot of social isolation that came out after I brought it home. When I called in tears asking what to do because I didn't think I could keep the bird "Samantha" talked to me with compassion and care, and I decided after talking to her I still needed to give it at least a few more months. My bird made a huge turnaround now after two years she was completely different bird that just needed the love that they entrusted me with to give her. Ceresa sold her to me and put her trust in me involving herself in the transition and because of her they even let me have her a week early. I have lived up to that trust and given my bird all the time, vet care that she has needed to recover from a previous past that was not good. I'll be going there soon to buy a bigger cage. I look forward to them seeing my Quaker April who is now renamed Gigi! thank you Bird Hut trusting me for the two rescues you let me love and take home. You are always involved in their care and your employees, always concerned for their well-being.
