The folks here are always super helpful and answer any questions I might have, as a hobby gardener. For several years they have been my go-to for the nutrients and supplies I need to keep my patio looking great. They also do not hesitate to give out a sample of a product if they have it - I was interested in fish fertilizer for my dogwoods, and they gave me samples of a new product to help make up my mind. I never feel talked down to or dismissed due to being a lady. Times are a bit strange this season with barriers and masks and restrictions, and they seem to be adapting just fine. read more

the staff was very helpful. the prices were very reasonable and comparable and even better than online. for instance foxfarms soils are the same price without the shipping cost and the shipping costs tend to be more than the product. the shelves were well stocked. Me myself I like to physically see what I'm buying and compare products side by side and they have a great selection of products. pest controls, fertilizers, seeding, cloning, lights, trimmers, drying and everything else aimed at various growing artisans. read more

This place does not fill Soda Stream canisters. They were nice about it, though, and tried to direct me to somewhere that did.

So happy with this grow store. Being a female grower I often get ignored at shops but the staff at bloom is friendly and will talk me through how to set things up and improve my garden. There seems to be a new trend in portland. Food carts and grow stores. Bloom stands out in an oversaturated market as, in my humble opinion, The most knowledgable, most affordable and friendliest damn shop in town. Everytime I have stepped through the door at bloom I have always been able to find what I need and receive excellent service from both owners. next time your in need of supplies, go strait BLOOM. I've veen growing for fiteen years and if you want no bs, no egos, great prices and customer service this place really is the jam. Place has become very unfriendly to shop at, very overpriced, always constantly cased, even while loading up dirt, guy today tried to hide around a display to see if I was trying to put a huge bag of soil in my pocket, no offer to help load it up, or out to my rig, no thanks for your business, have a good day, not even a goodbye, had to remind him about the 1$ cozy I picked up off the counter, because I am so shady? VM has much, much lower prices,and a lot nicer people, will make the 3 mile drive there from now on, then the 3 blocks to bloom read more

Good store. As of January 2017 they are no longer at the Portland location. Only Milwaukie. Hope they open again in Portland soon.

I've been in two different times recently and both times nobody could be fucked with to help us or even greet us walking into the store. NOBODY in the store (customers) and the employees were complete pricks, they didn't pay any attention at all until they realized I was spending nearly $500.... Great new shop....they have good prices and some product lines other shops in town don't carry. The 2 guys who own the place are very knowledgeable (and not bad to look at either!). The store is roomy and there's a big warehouse. They'll even let you pull your car into the warehouse to load up (and they have a forklift which can load heavier items for you). They have a lot of new products on display so you can see how they work in the shop. Great addition to Portland's garden scene- you'll be seeing me again Chad and Tim! read more

I have an account at another shop that gets me a better discount on a lot of items.Bloom gives me a pretty standard discount rate that most anyone will receive when they set up an account, and since I am buying less volume than I was when I earned my discount at the other store I am not complaining, just illustrating a point. The other shop is closer to my garden but slightly out of my way. Bloom is sort of on my route, but not exactly. So why do I give it 5 stars? Because they EARNED it the hard way. By being super knowledgeable, very friendly, having a great product selection, by being on-time and prompt with special orders, by creating an atmosphere where anyone feels like a pro just by walking in. I will go to the other shop to buy certain items, but I really like these guys a lot and will buy here if there is little to no price difference. Heck I will keep going here just because I like them. Great shop. Very clean and well organized with good prices on things. Best of all, the two owners are very knowledgable and offer solid advice. Th drive in loading is also pretty sweet as I'm always a little leary of carrying co2 canisters out of garden shops. read more
