This little cafe is worth the stop if you find yourself in the Yakima region. We we greeted the moment we talked in and found it to be quite busy for brunch time. Fortunately, they had a table and the wait very brief. I was rather impressed as service was friendly and attentive during our entire visit. I ordered the backwoods French toast and my buddy had the corned beef hash. We both really enjoyed our time here and I would definitely return again the next time I'm driving through.

We will always come here for a breakfast while in town and they're open. We're always warmly greeted, promptly I might add. The food is great, along with good prices. And the table service is spot on. Food comes out quick and hot, and the beverages rarely get to empty.

I don't review a business unless It is outstanding good or bad. HANDS DOWN- Best tasting breakfast ever and I am 78 years old. They are only open for part of the day and they are tucked away off of 1st street. What a jewel!

This is a local hidden gem, almost always PACKED... excellent chilaquiles and huevo rancheros. And guess what?!? Now serving ALCOHOL!!! Mango mimosa and Bloody Mary and..... more Very friendly staff and of course they speak Spanish & English. If you can find it come here for breakfast.

We split the Peanut Butter French Toast and the Logger Skillet both were delicious. Service was very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Service - so good! The thing that impressed me the most was watching the waitress greet her regulars.... Hugs... more hugs.... Asking how their week was... this is def a place regulars regulate. Ok- onto the food. It took me a while to order because IT ALL SOUNDED AMAZING! Pancakes tasted like vanilla cake. I prefer the classic taste of pancakes but I think people who love vanilla will love these pancakes. Hamburger was great and the fries in the picture (crinkled) were not what I got. I got steak fries but they were really yummy! I got the fry sauce and it was just a classic experience. I had to remove a few onion slices because there were massive amounts of raw onion. They asked if I wanted pickles and I did! They were awesome too! I would order the burger again.... But Next time I come I will do one of their amazing breakfast items.

We needed a place for breakfast for our group of 7 that was in town for wine tasting. Based on the reviews, we wanted to give it a try and glad we did. Small space but well used. Service was wonderful. Our order was taken and although they were busy it didn't take long to get our food. Food was great and pricing reasonable. Parking lot is shared as it's a strip mall. I would recommend giving it a shot as we will be back next time around.

This was my first time eating here. My husband has been once before and loved it so I was ready to try! I'm a breakfast fanatic. So when I find something really good, I have to tell others. We were greeted with a friendly waitress and seated quickly. I love the cabin feel and all around atmosphere of this little gem. The owner is super friendly and she was smiling the whole time we were there. We needed a few minutes to look over the menu since this was my first time there. I decided to have the chicken fried steak skillet. It comes with cut up pieces of chicken fried streak, shredded hash browns, country gravy and 2 eggs anyone you choose. Also a side of toast or English muffin. My husband had the Philly sandwich with chicken and fries. It was amazing!!! I can't wait to go back and try something else. read more

Best breakfast I have had in a long time. The only problem I had was leaving with too full of a belly!!! Try anything with the Chorizo in it. They do have a sign at your table saying it could take some time to get your food when busy basically because everything is homemade. But it is definitely worth the wait if you have to wait. read more

If you feel like having breakfast at Dennys or Sharis, DONT!! THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Great Food. Omelettes, hashbrown, pancakes, biscuits&gravy bacon or sausage the list goes on. Get anything on the menu. You can't go wrong! read more

Pretty solid breakfast place, if you don't mind the wait. It took a very long time to get our food (40 minutes). They even have signs at every table warning you that your food is going to take a while to cook and they are doing their best. If kitchen turn-around is such a known problem, wouldn't you do something to remedy it other than excuse it away with a sign placed on the table?! On the positive, this place is very mom-and-pops in decor, has friendly servers and, as a result, you can tell they have a loyal following of locals on the weekends. The eggs are cooked properly to your order, the food arrives hot (when it finally does arrive) and everything tastes fresh enough but some things are a little over seasoned, like the country gravy (soooo much garlic!). Overall, it was good comfort food but nothing that out-shined other breakfast spots I've visited. I'd go again if in Yakima, but wouldn't make a trip for it. read more

The service here was exceptional - my coffee never had a chance to get cold and I felt more pampered here than at most expensive places in Seattle. The food was delicious, prompt and reasonably priced. Don't be fooled by the location on the strip-mall; this place has an awesome breakfast proposition. Will return again when back in Yak! read more

Very nice food and service, the breakfast is amazing. All dishes are some how hispanic inspired, just my impression. Taste very good. The waiting line is sometimes long on weekends, but it is worth the wait. The location is quite odd, lot of improvised decoration. read more

Best Yakima breakfast place hands down. Loved the Chorizo scramble and the Backwoods french toast...their sausage was pretty great also, but to top it off my cranberry juice was served in a chilled glass!! We will be back for sure! read more

Whatta find. Clean, fast, friendly and delicious. Very very good - we loved it!!! Ingredients were very fresh...different potato options, eggs were perfect. Delightful. English muffins for something other than just toast. Great coffee. You won't be disappointed !! And easy to find too! read more

Dora and staff are extremely accommodating. Dora knows my regular order and greets me by name every time we come. It's the only breakfast spot we go to. My husband loves every omelette, and I am obsessed with the baby reds and refried beans. Best breakfast place in town! Definitely worth the wait when it's busy. read more

First off, the name is misspelled here - it's the Backwoods Country Fare Cafe (versus County). It's set back from 1st street on the south side of a small strip mall and it's a great little breakfast restaurant! Much larger inside than it appears, it is decorated country style with a friendly ambiance and staff. Cute kids menus - they are laminated inside the front cover of "Early Reader" hardback books so the kids can order and then read their story book (worked perfectly for our little ones). They have the usual breakfast offerings but have created a variety of unique twists on the entrees. The Backwoods French Toast rolled in crushed cornflakes is wonderful - crisp but not overly sweet. My husband had the Snow Sliders - poached eggs on biscuits covered in a sausage gravy and hollandaise sauce; rich but not a scrap was left on his plate. The usual potato offerings are expanded by also having home cooked small red potatoes as a choice; nice change of pace. Service was spot on - no issues there and was timely for a home cooked meal. Lunch entrees are also available but those will have to be sampled on another trip. We will definitely return! read more

Our new favorite place for breakfast when we're in Yakima! Clean place, no kitchen noise, excellent food and service. Our server (and owner), took the time to make sure we understood how the menu was laid out. Had a hard time deciding what to have because everything looked so good. Servings were generous and cooked just as we requested. Sausage gravy was very rich and creamy, and the bacon was probably the best flavored and tender textured we've had. The personal service was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this place! read more

I had the backwoods french toast. It was good. Different with the corn flakes but was what the Dr ordered. Also had 2 eggs over medium and 3 pieces of crispy bacon. Was dining alone while hunting outside Yakima. Lost a star for the cold seat by the door, service was attentive. Would go back next to me I am in the area. read more

They brought out refreshing cups of water, chips and 6 types of salsa, while we reviewed the menu. The "chips" are actually whole corn tortillas fried! So you use them whole or break them into chips yourself. My guess on the salsas are: salsa verde (tomatillo), avocado, pico de gallo, a smoky ancho, a citrusy habanero, and something else. They all had distinct flavors and a little light spice, but we wanted spicier. They brought out the "no way Jose" sauce and warned us it's their spiciest and it sneaks up on ya! We tried it and found it was not burning but quite nice. We drizzled this sauce all over our food. It was the most flavorful of the bunch. The menu is quite extensive, with everything from sopas to sopes, tortas to tacos, cocktails to desserts. We each got a plate of food, meaning the main entree comes with Mexican red rice and refried beans. I got the sopita (aka sope) with barbacoa and a fish taco and husband got a dipped torta (I forget the name) filled with adobada. The amount of food and meat was quite generous, the toppings (veggies) too. I really enjoyed my sope - it had the perfect crispy crust and I could taste the slightly sweet creamy taste of the masa. The barbacoa was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. It was more like stewed beef meat. It was fine but I was expecting really deep flavor. The fish taco seemed freshly grilled and was moist, but there was a bit of a "fishy" smell and flavor that kind of took over. Thankfully, the generous veggie toppings and fresh handmade corn tortilla and salsas helped mask the flavor. Have to hand it to them that those tortillas are really good! The Mexican rice was perfect. I haven't had that flavor and texture in Mexican rice in a while and thought that was well done. The refried beans were good but also had a flavor I couldn't place my finger on... My husband said everything was really good on his plate. His torta was massive! Really flavorful and stacked with things. The adobada was very tasty. I wish I ordered that meat instead of the barbacoa and fish. Overall pretty good Mexican food, generous portions, really sweet service. The interior is also really clean and nicely decorated. They have a small parking lot out back.

It was so filling and delicious that I packed up half the relleno and a tortilla to go. The burrito was amazing even when reheated and eaten a couple hours later. I specifically really enjoyed their rice and beans, well flavored and cooked to perfection. They have a great salsa bar with 3 types of homemade salsas I preferred the green, all of them were each unique in flavor and spice. I will be sure to return next time I am passing through Yakima.

Would definitely say the tacos are worth it. The chile relleno was also really good, I'd never had one before but it was cooked and fried well and the red sauce that covered it was tasty. The rice and beans were cooked nicely, nothing felt too heavy or too greasy. The rice and beans still tasted like rice and beans. Would definitely come here again.

Since my appetite is smaller, I now ask for just one cheese/onion enchilada on its own. The staff never blinks at the request, and my husband happily shares a bit of his refried beans with me. My meal was perfection. Definitely worth checking out. It's not the most extraordinary Mexican food in the area, but it's always very good--better than we can make at home--and that's why we keep coming back.

We tried this place out because it had pretty good reviews. It was decent, nothing to write home about though. The service was good. The food was just okay. I got a veggie scramble. It was weird to have celery and carrots with eggs? I would suggest to the owner to have the veggie dishes use zucchini, peppers, mushrooms, tomato's or all of the other vegetables that pair well with eggs. Best breakfast we had in Yakima. Tiny, hole-in-the-wall, tucked into a strip-mall wonderful place to eat. The waitresses are super. The chorizo burger is homemade and full of flavor. Even the coffee is good. Seek them out, you won't be disappointed! read more
