Most places have you pay for an hour and that's it or simply a dollar per game. The wings were not too great, but overall the menu had enough items. Many cocktails and beers to choose from. Had some friends in town and wanted to check out this place for some fun darts and pool. They do check is upon entering. Plenty of pool tables and dart machine. I'm not sure about the pricing of the pool but I think we paid about $8 and for the darts you use your own bills for the machine but get the darts at the bar. Overall, we all had a great time. Wasn't a fan of all the smoking inside the building. When we left we were all smelly and gross. Restroom was decent, but no paper towels. read more

I would give this place 5 stars, but I just can't stand places that allow smoking. I'd prefer not to breathe in smoke from the pool table next to us or go home smelling like an ashtray...but these are the consequences of going here, and I was fully aware of before stepping in the doors. Besides the above, this place is great! We came on a Saturday evening and it's $5.00 per person per hour to play pool. They have a choice of 8 or 9 foot tables, we chose the 8 foot because we're not professionals over here. The pool tables are well maintained, as well as the equipment. If you're feeling hungry, they have a fairly decent food menu of fried goodness, such as chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, fries, mac n' cheese bites, mini pizzas, chicken fingers, etc. The food is also very cheap! Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed their chicken wings which are breaded and deep fried, served extremely crispy with whatever sauce you'd like on the side (I highly recommend the garlic parmesan...the favorite of our group). I have zero idea how much the drinks were, as one of our friends decided to pick up the entire tab at the end of the evening, but I don't believe they were too expensive. I stuck with Miller Lite all night. Pro tip - ask for your beer to be served in a pint glass, rather than the tiny mugs it usually comes in. They charge an extra $.50 or $.75 to do that, but it's definitely worth it, as I believe the mugs are only about 8 ounces. Overall, great experience and will definitely go back! read more

Mind you we are all well over 40 with a 20 year old young adult. Backstage is a good place to hang out with friends and shoot pool or play darts. Drinks are relatively cheap as well. They have finger food which isn't bad either. There's normally always a server (cocktail waitress?) walking around making sure our drinks are good or if we need another. You are able to smoke in this establishment so if that's something you like, great! But for me, I hate leaving and smelling like an ashtray. We were visiting and looking for somewhere to shoot some pool, and this place just happened to be close. They have Plenty of pool tables, Drinks were ok and the staff was friendly. That's about the only thing positive I have for this place. I can't stand cigarette smoke so the fact that they allow people to smoke tobacco in this place was horrendous! A big majority of the pool tables were run down. I ordered a cheese pizza and the pizza was nasty and looked like a low budget , off brand frozen pizza from the grocery store. I certainly cannot forget the fact that security and staff spent almost 30 minutes trying to get a guy out of the restroom who was locked in the restroom and unresponsive. While we're playing pool They literally were using trying to use a hammer and screw driver to get the restroom door off the hinge because the guy was not responding to them banging on the door yelling for him to respond. Not responding to them yelling for him to come out of the bathroom or them banging on the door. We were unsure if the guy might been dead or blacked out or what was going on. Thank God after about 30 minutes of them trying to break the door down unsuccessfully the guy finally came out and just strutted off like nothing had happened smdh. My number 1 pool hang out in Orlando. Great place to go with some friends during the week or after work. They have awesome drink specials( I normally get a pitcher of Yuengling or a gin and tonic) The main selling point with this place is the price of pool. I haven't been to a pool hall that even compares not to mention they have regulation tables whereas other places struggle with slightly larger than bar tables.. It's a shame really that most places don't shell out the cash for legit tables like Backstage does. I did have to knock a star down because of the smoke concentration. You have to be ready to come out smelling like grandma's old ash tray when you come here. It can be a bit much for the eyes and the lungs especially if you're not a smoker.. Which I'm not =/ . Aside from that you really can't beat it here though.. Oh yea the Saturday UFC fights are always free and fills up fast so if you're trying to catch the next Silva fight make sure to get here early. For what it is, Backstage is just right. It's a great place to go to play pool (there are tons of tables) and there are plenty of dart boards as well. The crowd can be a bit sketchy, but that adds to the charm, right? Drink prices are good, and they pour a strong drink, so that's a plus. The bartenders are very nice but can be a bit slow to make it around to the tables for refills. They use the TouchTunes Jukebox, so be sure to queue up your songs early. The last time we went they were playing some awful stuff. (Like where you wonder if they picked a particular song as a joke, that kind of bad.) On the bright side though, the music can be changed, you just have to pay for it. Overall, I like this place. We don't go often since it is a bit far for us, but it's a good spot for that part of town. In an area that tends to be a bit touristy there are still a lot of locals that hang out here and that's a good thing. read more

It's good . The place doesn't get too packed which is another good thing . But the soda always tastes odd like if liquor or something was placed in it? I'm not a drinker so idk if it's just me but I came two different times and on each time it tasted this way . I got two different sodas also to see if it was just me and it WASNT . As soon as I got out of the car, there was a guy outside watching me like a hawk. I was a bit creeped out. When I got inside, my friend told me that it was ladies night. Now it made sense. Every guy in the place (not that it was busy) were sizing us up. Again, a little more creepers. The staff was very nice and attentive. I don't have anything bad to say about them. They were great. Been coming to this place for 10 plus years. The bartenders here are awesome and friendly. They have a great amount of tables and I never have to wait for one. They also have corn hole and darts if you don't want to play pool. Every Tuesday they have drink specials, $4 you call it!! You can't beat that anywhere, so have your drinking pants ready! I've been coming here for years! Great place to have drinks after a long day's work or just to meet up some friends. I love tuesday $4-you-call-it night. It use to be only $2 but I guess with the economy they had to increase the price. Regardless $4 is great for me because I only drink top shelf liquor so it's great on your wallet. You can also get food delivered there. Or order $5 personal size pizzas. Which is helpful if you need a little snack so you don't get too tipsy. Only down fall is that it is ridiculously smokey. Backstage Billiards is a true locals bar, but also answers the drinking and recreation needs of the many "out-of-towners" that frequent the International Drive tourist area. Here are the things I'll say are definitely true: You can smoke in Backstage. They have a bunch of smoke eaters, but if you walk in and have hung out around smokers, you're going to smell like smoke. After all, its a sports bar and pool hall, not a day spa. Cleanliness- Bathrooms are your typical bar standard, as for anywhere else, servers are always wiping down surfaces, and I've seen them clean up after hours, and I'm actually surprised how diligently the staff cleans even though they have someone else come in and clean before the bar opens as well. Male - female ratio- It's a pool hall, so naturally it tends to attract more men then women. Ladies will most likely be checked out. But its rare that I've ever seen anyone made to feel uncomfortable, and the staff are quick to control any situations within the hall that need to be handled. Service- Backstage sets my standards for service. Their staff is the most attentive bar staff I've seen anywhere. I've gone to bars in the local area where bartenders don't even acknowledge that you've been waiting for 5 minutes to order a drink. Backstage isn't like this, ever. They may get busy, but a bartender looks at you and lets you know they'll be right with you. Additionally, you're never left wanting to place a drink order while they are idly chit chatting with each other. They do everything in their power to answer the needs of their patrons, and they are "johnny-on-the-money" when it comes to keeping dibs on their establishment. Best of all their drinks are never watered down, and they have great nightly specials. When they have a themed party, the place comes to life, and it's really a blast to be amidst this fun staff, and the friendly regulars that call Backstage their nightly home away from home. read more

Cool place to play pool, the cheese sticks were run of the mill, plenty of pool tables, it was priced affordable, the specials are decent, but the place is smokey! It smells awful in there. My clothes reeked, my hair smelled awful and had to be washed 3x just to get that smell out. Our clothes had our hotel room smelly! Clorox lysol spray couldn't even air the smell out. The waitress was attentive and friendly, no real complaints besides the smoke which took away 3 stars. My dude had some sort of mix up and had to go back the next day when they opened to get his Iicense. He was in there less than 3 minutes and smelled like an ashtray coming out. So I am a local and I have going to this bar for over 15 years.. and to quote Toby Keith.. "I love this bar" It has pool, darts, HDTV, and drinks. the staff treats you like family busy or slow. They may not serve food BUT most locals know you can order wings or pizza from Broadway Pizza and it'll be there quick. (They have the Hotline lol) Yes it is a smoking bar and that just adds to its identity .. Sometimes the lesser known places are the true gems of the city... and this is a freaking diamond. Just visited this place on a Sunday and I'm impressed with the deals. Usual pool price is $5 per person, per hour. Half price on Sundays. BUT... I was charged NOTHING for playing pool today because my wife and I drank more than $5 of alcohol. Draught beer was like $1.60. Around 2:30 or 3, they put out free food (chips, dogs, and sliders /w cheese). A ton of TVs around the place showing different football games.
