Mixed feelings about this place. Drinks and food were great but the service was awful. It wasn't t busy, only 2 other tables and they were finishing up. Waitress was not pleasant at all. Seemed to be in her own world. Took a while for her to come take our order. Had to wave her down to order another drink. She went back to the bar and stood around talking and didn't bring drinks for about 10 minutes. (Drinks were poured from tap wall and no keg was changed, she was just visiting) by time the drinks arrived we were already done eating. Finished drinks and walked up to the bar to close out. Definitely needs to work on customer service!! read more

I ordered the mimosa flight. It was cotton candy, Keylime pie, blueberry, and chipotle pineapple flavors. They were like candy... Way too sweet... Jenny handled our table. She brought some lemon, lime and orange slices to help tone down the sickly sweet mimosas And she brought a Spicy Mango margarita. Helped me recover from the sickly sweetness. Venue itself is really really nice! They had live music, which was a nice surprise, and all the wait staff was very sweet and pleasant and efficient. If you're in the area definitely stop by! I was in town visiting my mother, and I discovered this wonderful pub. For three years I thought the place was under construction because it looks so dark from outside!! Dot let that fool you!!!! The beer was fantastic and wonderful pub food. I ate there twice in one week, and the pizza was fantastic. Lots of menu items. The brunch is a no for me. These were the breakfast potatoes that were served to me today. As you can see, they are burnt and inedible. Why was this served on a plate to a customer? I didn't send it back, but I most certainly didn't eat it and I certainly wont be back for more. How can you pair this with such a delicious chicken fried steak? Mixed feelings on this brew pub. Arrived just after prime lunch time on a Friday, nobody else there. Hmmm. Ordered some Pepsi which was so flat I had to sent it back. Waited about 20 minutes to get another newly carbonated glass of it. No water in the meantime. Hmmm. The food was good: I had a sandwich with pesto, cheese and bacon. Quite tasty. And the fries were delicious. But I like to split my order wjth a friend since we are small eaters... that was going to cost us another $4 plus the cost for another side-order. Hmmmm. I had a meal here yesterday and the service and food were terrible. I ordered the macaroni and cheese and it was overcooked and dry. I asked for water and the server I spoke with seemed annoyed with my request and never brought the water. My mother has also experienced poor service there as has her neighbor. They treat you as if they are doing you a favor. Don't waste your money there. read more

Located in a historic downtown Sutherlin building, this new branch of Backside Brewing of Roseburg has great food and good beer. The backside burger is the basic old-fashioned burger deluxe with top ingredients: ground beef cooked as you like, tomato, a leaf of lettuce, slice of tomato, Tillimook cheese, pickle and their own sauce. The sturdy bun couldn't quite contain everything. Sides include one pick from a variety of fries or a salad; The salad of different types of lettuce, cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices (two each) overflowed the plate. With a smooth blue cheese dressing, it tasted great. Dougie the logger is their pale, smooth version of the typical American lager. It was mild and a bite bland but had a good taste. I tried the peach IPA but didn't care for it. Most of their beers are 6% alcohol or more. read more

Backside Brewing is a welcome surprise here in Sutherlin, OR. They have some thing for everyone on tap...even Root Beer for the Kiddos. I started with the Golden Peach Ale which was very smooth with a light peach flavor, and the Axeman Red...after several samples (all of which we great!). For dinner I enjoyed the Backside Burger and fries all of which was delicious and cooked to my liking. The staff was great and friendly and answered all my questions. Ate here tonight. Server was prompt and friendly. We ordered an appetizer that never arrived. We waited 30+ minutes for our food, a party of 3 and another party of 4 arrived about 10 minutes after us and both tables had appetizers within 5 minutes :( Hubby had burger and said it was hard and dry. It looked to be commercially pressed as it was very dense. I had pulled pork sandwich. I asked that the bbq sauce be put on the side, but there was more sauce than actual meat, not worth $15 as it was about 1/4 cup of meat and 1/4 cup of sauce as it oozed out with each bite. Fries were hot and tasty. Server forgot to order our appetizer :( We went 30 miles out of our way to eat here, but never again. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

My Sister and Fiancé went there May 9, 2022. I can't go because it isn't wheelchair friendly. They were hungry for burgers. The highest price hamburger in town. About 1/3 the size of a regular Burger. The hamburger tasted like 70%ground beef. Not good meat. Ordered meat well done got Medium. Ick. Red meat. The homemade fries were good. The onion rings were store bought not homemade. The margarita was expensive, small, and watered down. All she tasted was the lime. Not going back. read more

So I originally had a pretty long and awful review up here after a run in with the French toast resulted in me ingesting honey (which I'm allergic to) after repeatedly asking if there was honey in the dish and being told no. And I still had to pay for the meal, even though I couldn't eat it and found out from the manager after I took one bite that it did indeed have honey in it. HOWEVER. A friend came into town and picked this place as our meeting spot. I agreed to go for simplicity's sake. I stayed well away from the French toast this time, and tried the Pesto Caprese Grilled Cheese. It is the best sandwich I have ever had. Seriously. I love this sandwich. It's amazing. And since the Great French Toast Incident of 2021 concluded, the staff has been nothing but kind and sweet to me. So here is my review. Beware of allergens, but try the pesto caprese grilled cheese. My friend took me here, and I was so delighted. The drinks were delicious. My favorite is the Grapefruit Jalapeño Margarita. I ordered the white cheddar grilled cheese with blackberry jam and crisped jalapeños. Sheer heaven. Staff is very nice. A couple weeks later, I went back with my husband. Came in for a Tuesday lunch. The place was pretty busy! I'd say with all the current restrictions, they were probably close to capacity. We sat inside at a booth. They had cute hanging plants on the wall above the table. The service was a little slow and our server seemed new. She kept forgetting items or we would have to ask 2 or 3 times for something. Other than that, she was super nice. I wasn't crazy about my seltzer. I ordered the honey lavender and it was just really light, the flavor was a little too understated for my personal preferences. Oh my gosh, both grilled cheeses were so good! They had the perfect crisp on them, not too burnt but not too soggy. The blackberry jalapeño was tasty but I think I liked the bacon pesto just a little more. Their sweet potato tots are so worth it. They aren't too sweet and they pair perfectly with goup. Visited on Sunday during the brunch/lunch time. The decor was perfect for a brewery vibe. We had the hamburger 'which was one of the best' and the chicken teriyaki sandwich that was really good. The waitress was very sweet and checked in with us frequently. The down side was it took over 45 minutes to get our food and the place can get very noisy depending on the crowd. Patio dining looks like it is under development and has a lot of potential. We will return. read more

I love this place! My only negative feedback is only that they continue to sell out of their Cajun style tater tots. They are so good they usually sell out quickly.
