We came for the wine and added some food. The food was very good, perfect with our wine tasting experience. And that is exactly what it was an experience, a great one. The wine is super good and the server was very good. Talked about the wine, the food, and the property. The decor is upscale and rustic, perfect for a winery. Everything from the wine, the food, the service, and the decor complimented each other. Thank you.

Beautiful tasting room w/ plenty of outdoor seating. We were there on a beautiful Saturday & did the wine tasting w/ a cheese plate. Knowledgeable & friendly wait staff.

Abacela was on my Harvest Tour, where Greg Jones sampled grapes and measured sugar level at harvest time. We paired 6 wines with meats, cheese and baguettes. The inviting tasting room looks out onto the vineyard on the hills.

Visiting Abacela Winery is a lovely way to spend a few hours. The winery has a great view of some of the vineyard. There is an indoor wine tasting area, bar and seating area, as well as, a lovely outdoor seating area next to the vines growing. We chose the Signature Flight for $20 to get an idea of the wines they have. They brought out another taste to start-a 2001 Merlot so we could compare to the younger 2009 Merlot. The Signature Flight has 5 samples of their wines, including two of their Tempranillos. The owners chose this area because the climate and soil would be perfect for the Spanish Tempranillo grapes. It ripens several weeks earlier than other grapes which is perfect for the shorter growing season in this area of Oregon. We were brought two of their ports to try, as well. A 2017 Vintage Port and a N/V 10-year Tawny Port. The Tawny Port was delicious. I would recommend Abacela Winery. This is a beautiful winery and a lovely place to enjoy wine and foods. The pours are small, as mentioned in other reviews, but the extra samples made me feel the price was worth the Flight. Our server was excellent and knowledgeable about the wines. I would definitely go back!

Beautiful vineyard with some good wines! Joe started our tasting out with a "bonus pour" of the rosé that was just bottled, We were also able to try two of their ports at the end of the tasting. The 10 year tawny port was our favorite. The signature flight has 5 wines for $20, the wines were good, pour could have probably been a little bigger but some wineries do smaller pours. We decided to buy 3 bottles since 1 tasting fee is waved if you buy 3 bottles, we asked for the 10 year tawny port, Tannat and merlot, our total was $150. It wasn't till I arrived back to my home state and realized we didn't get a Merlot, instead we were got a Malbec. my fault my not checking till I was making sure the bottles made it safely in my checked bag. I know I said Merlot to Joe because I had asked to try it before we got a bottle and Joe had said they don't allow him to open anymore Merlot because they don't have a lot left but insisted it was good. I don't know if he mistakenly grabbed the wrong bottle or got confused after walking away to get the wine. He didn't give us a receipt so I don't know what we were charged for, just know the total was $150 Overall a good winery just very disappointed we didn't get the bottle we thought we were taking home and paid for something we didn't want.

It's a beautiful property, a very nice spot to sip wine. But the wine wasn't great. We had a Syrah, Grenache, Tempranillo and a blend. They were all okay, but just basic, nothing special. The guy who served seemed bored and unhappy to be there. But it's a nice property

We hosted a book club meet up at Abacela this spring. It was set up beautifully upon arrival. The staff was so accommodating and welcoming, especially Joe who prepped the space prior to our arrival. We had an excellent time at this beautiful space. The delicious wine flowed with our conversations. Thank you

We visited Abacela Winery on a sunny late March weekday. Wonderful experience. SERVICE: 5.0. The woman who served us was very knowledgeable about the wines and the region, and provided prompt service with a smile. WINE: 4.5. We did a wine flight, and enjoyed the wines. Bottle purchases were a good value. The flight consisted mainly of Iberian varietals, including one from Portugal. AMBIANCE: 5.0. Sitting outside under a trellis with a cloud-dotted blue sky in high 60s temperatures facing gorgeous green hills lying beyond the vineyard was heavenly.

It's such a beautiful vineyard and they have some great wines there. We went there for wine tasting and we had a great time there. The staff would leave you alone after serve you and I just wish they have an extended opening hours

Beautiful winery and tasting room. All the wines were exceptional. It was a little expensive for a tasting flight.

They have an extensive wine list; so my husband and I each did a tasting of 6 ($10), and then ordered the smoked salmon plate ($25). We then took a seat out on the terrace overlooking the beautiful winery and vineyard. Not long after we were seated, we were served our wine flights and salmon plate. Let me first say that the smoked salmon plate was beautifully presented and very delicious. The salmon was tender and moist, accompanied with cream cheese and a wonderful pepper jelly. Oh, so good. My wine flight was mostly whites. My favorite tastes were the sauvignon blanc (not a typical suave blanc, less acidic with a smooth finish); the chardonnay, and the rose. But I enjoyed all the wines I tasted. Also note that they have a small gift shop with some very cute items. I'm so very glad we came here. Great staff, great views, great food and great wine. We will definitely be back again next time we are in the area.

You have to go down the road a ways to find the gate in the fence to get in. But it's there. Trust me. Once you get there and meet Scott & Jennifer Henry, you'll want to stay a while. This is an outgoing couple that's passionate about their wines and about growing succulent house plants. They are very good at both. They have no vineyards of their own, but buy grapes from growers across Southern Oregon. They feel this arrangement allows them to get grapes from many different regional climates and greatly expands the variety they have to work with. And not tending a vineyard gives them more time to devote to wine making. Their results are impressive. For Rose, we took home a bottle of 2013 "Transparency", a white blend of 57% Muller Thurgau, 28% Muscat and 15% Riesling. Delightfully fruity, slightly sparkling, slightly sweet. For me we got the 2012 Syrah, actually a blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Grenache, a very interesting raspberry and spice experience. If the tasting room is a bit hard to find and keeps short hours, it's okay. You can find their products on some local grocery store shelves, including Sherm's Thunderbird in Roseburg.
