We ordered some wings for an appetizer and both ordered medium rare ribeyes with no sides of any kind (carnivore style) for the main course. The wings were really good but turned out to be breaded so definitely NOT carnivore friendly. When the steaks make it to the table is where our dining experience took a turn for the worse. Their appearance had my mouth watering even if they were a little on the thin side - they looked great. Upon cutting the steaks, they were obviously overcooked to medium. This isn't a deal breaker for me and I can enjoy a medium steak as well even if it's not my preference so I was still excited for the first bite. I shouldn't have been. I think the grill marks on the steaks must come that way from the supplier because they had no grilled flavor, no char flavor and honestly... pretty much no flavor at all. For $30 per steak I guess I expected more. Overall I would say it could be a great place and atmosphere to go sit and have a drink and some apps but I would be hesitant to choose it for dinner again.

My wife and I decided to try Mabel Murphy's for a New Year's Eve supper and were really looking…read moreforward to prime rib and shrimp. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We started with the crab-stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, but when they arrived, the centers were still cold. My prime rib came out barely room temperature, and my wife's was ice cold. Her broiled shrimp tasted more like cocktail shrimp that had been sitting on ice, while my deep-fried shrimp were cold, soggy and had a strong old-fryer-oil taste. Even the au jus for the prime rib arrived cold to the touch in the stainless cup, and the butter for my wife's shrimp was already congealing again. Overall, the food quality was absolutely terrible - some of the worst food we've been served at a restaurant in a long time. I do want to give credit where it's due: our server was wonderful. She was kind, attentive, and very understanding of the situation. She offered to comp the meal and even brought us boxes. We boxed up the prime rib with the intention of reheating it at home just to salvage something from the night. However, when the bill arrived, only about 30% was taken off and this was because they gave us a box and we weren't sending it back to have it remade after an hour and a half wait for our food On a $140 bill, that amounted to roughly $34 off - leaving us paying for cold, undercooked food that we had to take home and fix ourselves. We genuinely wanted to support a local business, especially on New Year's Eve, but this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

It was a busy Saturday night; we waited for our table in the bar area. Our waitress was attentive and got our drinks pretty quickly. They pour a good drink at Stub's! We had a wide variety of options (if you are from Wisconsin, think supper club menus). The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was nice; although a little loud. I went with the walleye and rib combo. The walleye was fantastic. The ribs were good, but nothing special. The lyonnaise potatoes were hot and tasty. It came with fresh rolls and a house salad. The blue cheese dressing was homemade and had excellent taste. My dining partner had steak with a chicken breast (on a bed of rice). She also had a glazed sweet potato. She enjoyed the meal. My buddy had the rib eye steak and his partner had scallops. Both said they were good; however, not as good as meals they had there on previous visits. My friend thought the quality of the steak had gone down. While not an easy place to get to, it was worth our drive. I'd definitely give it a shot if I returned to the area.
