It was Labor Day Monday, and we were coming back from a family trip to Gatlinburg. We were so happy to find this place was open. The food is no fine-dining, it's pretty simple, but it was near perfection for what we were looking for. We each got a different sandwich and they were all amazing. We all were absolutely raving about the fries. They were cut in a unique way I hadn't seen before, where they were little slats. Not dry-shaped, not wedges, but slats. They enabled the perfect combination of crunch and tenderness The locale is very unpretentious in the best way. I wouldn't mind living in this area and being a local here. Seems like they regularly have live music and other cool events. The singular gripe we had is that it took a very long time to get our food. But that's our own fault for coming on Labor Day Monday. Otherwise, the lone man running the place was delightful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I cannot wait to come back!

My wife, Brittany, ordered 6 soft chicken tacos, and she loved them. I ordered 4 chicken tacos and another order of 3 chicken tacos, and they were all seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. We also got our son 3 beef tacos, and he really enjoyed them. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, which were fresh and tasty. To drink, I had the Chamoy Margarita, and Brittany had the Blue Margarita--both were excellent and definitely worth trying. We finished our meal with the sopapillas for dessert, and they were the perfect sweet ending to a great dinner. A special thank you to our server, Nicole, who provided exceptional service. She was friendly, attentive, and always checked on us throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed, including keeping our water glasses refilled. Her excellent customer service made our visit even more enjoyable. If you're looking for great Mexican food, delicious margaritas, tasty desserts, and outstanding service in LaFollette, I highly recommend El Charro Mexican Grill. We'll definitely be back!

We used to be regular customers at China Town in LaFollette and always enjoyed eating there, but…read moreafter our experience on Father's Day, we won't be returning. Our almost 2-year-old son was eating with us, and like most toddlers, he can be a messy eater. A few noodles ended up on the floor, and the male server gave our child a dirty look that made it seem like he was disgusted with him. Families with young children should not be made to feel unwelcome or judged over normal toddler behavior. The service overall was disappointing. Throughout our entire meal, no one ever came by to offer drink refills or check on us. To make matters worse, the bathrooms were very dirty and clearly needed attention. We were disappointed because we had been loyal customers for a long time, but after this experience, we have decided not to come back. It's unfortunate to see the quality of service decline so much at a place we used to enjoy.
