Our first tour was a kayak trip on Resurrection Bay. Rob had all of our gear prepared and ready to go, and even though it was rainy, the provided rain gear kept us warm and dry. We stopped for lunch and took a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. One of the women on our tour had some mobility challenges, and I was especially impressed watching Rob hike backward while holding her hands and making sure she felt safe and supported. Throughout the trip, he pointed out landmarks and wildlife and shared so much interesting information. He was knowledgeable, funny, patient, and incredibly attentive. Later that day, Rob guided us on a hike of Exit Glacier. His knowledge of the glacier and Kenai Fjords National Park was amazing. Along the way, we learned about the plant life, geology, and geography of this breathtaking landscape. I feel incredibly lucky that we had Rob as our guide. There is no doubt that we would have missed so much if we had explored these places on our own. He made both experiences unforgettable! Captain Louis worked with us ahead of time to plan a trip that the whole family would love -- a stop at Thumb Cove, picnic on Fox Island, and an incredible view of whale bubble netting in the bay. The trip out to the bay was smooth and boat very clean and comfortable, with life jackets for the kids. We loved our picnic and scenic walk on Fox Island -- kids, dog, and all! Very easy and save to get on and off the boat with our kids and small dog. After our picnic, Captain Louis navigated us to the most remarkable bubble netting whale watch, which felt like National Geographic (see the video here!), and was a highlight of our trip. We will definitely be joining Alaskan Coastal Safari again next time we visit Alaska, maybe for a fishing trip and Bear Glacier!

This was one of the most special things I've seen in my life. If you are in Seward, you need to see Bear Glacier and very few operators go there. Bear Glacier completely blew our minds. I know decades from now, I will still think about that time my husband and I went to Bear Glacier. Captain Louis also took us to see various wildlife: birds of all kinds, a humpback whale, otters, seals, and sea lions. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and the area. Captain Louis brought us to spots that the big tour companies don't go, which I really appreciated.

We got to see so much wildlife, including humpback whales, puffins, otters, and even a minke whale which is apparently rare to spot! We stopped by a glacier and had lots of time to take pictures. The views were so stunning! They also provide binoculars which were very helpful. It was summer time but still gets a bit cold out on the water so I recommend layering up. The staff were super nice and helpful. They offered bags to anyone who was feeling nauseous. I would definitely recommend taking Dramamine or some other motion sickness medicine before the tour because quite a few people on the boat were feeling seasick. I got the vegetarian sandwich which was better than I expected! It was simple but did the job and there are condiments available as well. Staff also provided granola bars and cheese. After the tour, I purchased a bunch of souvenirs from the gift shops Note: the parking lot closest to the Major Marines office fills up early in the morning but there are lots of parking lots nearby. Also the is massive and has 3 levels. You can sit wherever you want and the third level is an open deck. Overall, amazing experience! I thought the 6-hour tour was a good balance between time and wildlife spotting. Would love to come back again and hopefully see orca whales next time

The staff was friendly and the captain greeted everyone. They do forewarn about sea sickness, losing items like a hat and also safety to prevent falling overboard. Things they obviously have no control over is who will get seasick (they had Dramamine and ginger chews for purchase) , what the weather is like, and what sealife you may or may not see. Additionally they must stay a good distance away from from the animals for safety reasons. They do have a bar for alcoholic beverages, sandwiches that are part of the package (turkey, beef, vegetarian with option for gluten free bread), but you may wish to bring your own food and snacks. My best advice: - book the tour early - get in line early so you can get a seat outside the main cabin (good views and helps reduce some of the sea sickness) - bring or purchase some dramamine - bring sunglasses - bring binoculars to better view the sealife and glaciers - make sure you have warm clothing that you can easily secure given the high winds - know that no two people will have the same experience and that you may have good weather and animal sighting or you may not

We stayed two nights, one in a small cabin and one in the hostel portion. There are kayaks for rent and the caretakers are very helpful getting you set up with everything you need. In addition to two cabins and the bunk house there is an outhouse with a great view and a sauna which can help you destress even more. There is a common kitchen area to prepare meals and they have everything you need to cook. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little adventure but not wanting to pitch a tent.

We were given the Oyster Catcher yurt which had a nice combo of a view of the inner cove and the outter bay. Our yurt was in excellent condition with great amenities. We did shopping in Seward before the trip as recommended by the hosts and had all we needed to prepare great meals at the yurt. We used the kayaks to stumble across salmon spawning near the cabins. The spawning was one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever watched. Thousands of salmon making their way upstream in all different stages of life. Incredible. The kayaks were in great condition and we appreciated being taught how to use the kayak skirts because we come from warm water area where skirts aren't used. I recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to kayak as ours came in really handy when getting off the kayaks at the nearby waterfall. If you plan to fish, I'd recommend bringing your own tackle. We weren't having much luck with what was rigged up but we also didn't fish for that long. Still would have been nice to have our own lures to use because their lures seemed too big for the fish in the cove. Tons of fish, not a single bite. I don't think the hosts are that big on fishing. Always good to do your own research if you wanna catch something. During our stay we saw a ton of jelly fish, bald eagles, thousands of salmon, otters, sea lions, puffins, and more birds I couldn't identify. Incredible experience. We loved the art gallery and communal coffee spot. Wish we bought some orca island gear while we were there but forgot to stop back in the shop before departing. Stay here!! Don't bat an eye at the price. It is worth it.

Remote, peaceful, immersed in nature, this is hands down one of our favorite spots in all our travels. During the boat ride to the property we got lucky and saw a couple of orcas! Upon arriving we were in awe of the property, the views, and the amenities. We went fishing, cooked fresh salmon on the grill, hung out in the shared space and met other guests, and enjoyed the sound of rain on the yurt roof. I literally had the best night of sleep in my adult life in that yurt! So so cozy. There were river otters that came by each day, which was an added bonus. We will definitely return to take advantage of the surroundings more!
