Kass was a great guide! It was a sunny day which made it breezy and slightly rough, but fun. If you want to see wildlife you want the overcast days and preferably morning or evening. I went at 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Bring rain pains if you don't want to get wet (optional) and rain jacket with layers depending on the weather. They do provide a water bag to store extra layers which you can change at the break out by the tonsina point. Pretty bridge and trail to hike. They provide hot chocolate, tea and some yummy granola bars made locally.

So beautiful in the evening!

Had a fantastic time on the 4 hour Resurrection Bay kayak tour! Our guide Laban was awesome - super fun and personable and shared a lot of interesting facts about the bay and sea life. Time spent actually kayaking was about 2 hours, which was a perfect amount of time for a newbie kayaker like me. We stopped at a beach where we had hot chocolate/tea and a delicious homemade granola bar from the wonderful bakery at Resurrect Art before heading back to shore. A great way to spend an evening in Seward!

Wow! Do the Aialik Glacier trip. Yes I know it's a lot, do it. This was the best excursion I did in Alaska. It includes a 2.5 hour boat trip to the bay you'll kayak in so you can spend your $$ here and skip an additional cruise! The boat trip specifically searches for wildlife and gets closer! We saw puffins, two humpbacks, sea lions, bald eagle, sea otters and beautiful scenery! I saw more on this trip than an actual wildlife lunch cruise. The coffee/tea and muffins added a nice touch. You will have a personal guide--this is what really impressed me about this excursion! It was just me, my husband and my mother, 3 people to a guide! Our guide was Joe and he absolutely made this a memorable experience. He checked in on us the whole time, interested if we were ok. He constantly came by and told us what we were looking at without being prompted. Joe would whip out a map several times throughout the boat trip to show us where we were going, where we were in relation to that, and included many fascinating tidbits along the way. I felt like our guide Joe was a living google search bringing everything to life. The kayak adventure was great! Not too difficult for any of us. Everything was explained clearly and in a timely manner--I felt fully prepared to be out there! We had an amazing day kayaking to the glacier, watching the calving, learning about geologic and ecological history of the region, and had lunch on the water! (Snacks will be provided throughout the day--it's pretty awesome!) No complaints whatsoever, even the price! For what we paid for other excursions--this is completely worth it! Thank you Joe and Kayak Adventures Worldwide for giving me an amazingly Alaskan adventure!

Such a wonderful experience! My husband and I booked a half day kayak adventure tour for the early morning slot. This being our first time kayaking, we were a little bit nervous but our tour guide, Richard, was awesome! He was funny, engaging and knowledgeable. We had an absolute blast! The weather was perfect . Thanks for the awesome memories!

Myself, my wife, and our friend had an amazing day on the Aialik glacier kayaking trip this past August with Claire! Although this was our most expensive excursion on our trip to Alaska, we all agree that it was totally worth the money and most likely our favorite. The long boat ride and from Aialik bay was an amazing opportunity to see puffins, jellyfish, sea lions, and bald eagles, not to mention the stunning mountains, glaciers, and icefields surrounding us. Claire was was an excellent guide, always checking in to make sure everyone was having a great time, and answering any and all questions we had. The fact that we were able to see orcas on the boat ride home was an amazing end to an unforgettable trip.

I had a fantastic time kayaking to Aialik Glacier with Kayak Adventures Worldwide. The guide, Kim, was talkative, informative, and friendly. Not to mention strong and robust (I totally needed the pogies for my cold hands, but she didn't!). A lot of the information I already knew (just from the info boards at Exit Glacier the day before), but did learn some new cool things, like birds who swim better than fly, and why Aialik is a stable glacier. The paddling was really fun, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Well, maybe not...someone in our group from DC was really nice and he'd done the trip the year before. Maybe I'll get to go back on a sunny day. But seriously, gray weather aside, it doesn't even factor into what an amazing experience or scenery you're enjoying. I would be weary of high waves, and HEAVY raining. When I say heavy, I mean pissing down rain, not intermittant drops or drizzling. But, put your trust into Wendy and Dave, they'll never put you out into dangerous waters. Just take dramamine if you're not sure about your stomach, wear synthetic layers (it was the 4th of July and I'm so glad I had my regular padded rain jacket), sunglasses and a hat for sure. Side note: yes, for me, this was definitely an expensive trip. But it was also the highlight of my Alaskan vacation. It was also to a fairly remote area of the Fjords National Park that people don't usually go to, unless they take a boat tour. And, FYI, one of those tour boats did try to view Aialik, but they had to stay outside in the bay, several hundred yards away....hardly a viewing for them, while we got up close and personal with it. You really can't put a price on an experience like this....do it once, and you'll be glad you did more than just walk in downtown Seward with a stop off at Exit Glacier.

Wonderful boat/kayak trip to Aeliek Bay. Tons of wildlife & a fabulous guide for our family of 6. It's a long day & a lot of money, but we would do it again in a heartbeat! Nice that it wasn't a super crowded boat too! Our guide, Murphy was informative and made the day enjoyable.

Let me preface this by saying that this review is not in of itself indicative of what others may…read moreexperience since there are so many factors that come into play. The tour guides are perhaps the biggest factor that is in control by the company. The wildlife viewing and glacier kayaking experience is also dependent on how lucky nature views you. This of course is not this fault of the company, but may impact experience. With that long statement out of the way, let's talk about what happened during my excursion. To start, they go over the typical safety protocols to mitigate chances of issues that would occur. Then you embark on a roughly two hour ride to the kayaking destination. From there, you kayak about 4 miles to the glacier. It's just beautiful to enjoy the Alaskan waterfalls and viewpoints before arriving at the glacier. But once there, you're hit with the majestic beauty of the glacier. Due to safety reasons, we paddle until about 1 mile from the glacier, but it's big enough to be seen from a good ways away. If you're lucky you can see some ice calving. Then you enjoy some lunch from a spot near the glacier before embarking home. Along the way there and way back. The group was also fortunate to see some amazing wildlife! From porpoises to orcas, to whales, it was just a stroke of good luck! If you're in Seward, heck even Alaska, it is definitely worth taking this kayaking tour!

I highly recommend trying it out, even if you're new to kayaking. They were very prepared, and we felt safe, on top of fact that the kayaks were really hard to flip. I'm not saying you should flip (since it WILL end the tour), BUT if you do end up capsizing, your guide will have to do a shoey at the end of the season... just saying.

Remote, peaceful, immersed in nature, this is hands down one of our favorite spots in all our travels. During the boat ride to the property we got lucky and saw a couple of orcas! Upon arriving we were in awe of the property, the views, and the amenities. We went fishing, cooked fresh salmon on the grill, hung out in the shared space and met other guests, and enjoyed the sound of rain on the yurt roof. I literally had the best night of sleep in my adult life in that yurt! So so cozy. There were river otters that came by each day, which was an added bonus. We will definitely return to take advantage of the surroundings more!

We were given the Oyster Catcher yurt which had a nice combo of a view of the inner cove and the outter bay. Our yurt was in excellent condition with great amenities. We did shopping in Seward before the trip as recommended by the hosts and had all we needed to prepare great meals at the yurt. We used the kayaks to stumble across salmon spawning near the cabins. The spawning was one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever watched. Thousands of salmon making their way upstream in all different stages of life. Incredible. The kayaks were in great condition and we appreciated being taught how to use the kayak skirts because we come from warm water area where skirts aren't used. I recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to kayak as ours came in really handy when getting off the kayaks at the nearby waterfall. If you plan to fish, I'd recommend bringing your own tackle. We weren't having much luck with what was rigged up but we also didn't fish for that long. Still would have been nice to have our own lures to use because their lures seemed too big for the fish in the cove. Tons of fish, not a single bite. I don't think the hosts are that big on fishing. Always good to do your own research if you wanna catch something. During our stay we saw a ton of jelly fish, bald eagles, thousands of salmon, otters, sea lions, puffins, and more birds I couldn't identify. Incredible experience. We loved the art gallery and communal coffee spot. Wish we bought some orca island gear while we were there but forgot to stop back in the shop before departing. Stay here!! Don't bat an eye at the price. It is worth it.
