I am a military war veteran who served my country honorably and proudly. I was discharged due to an injury I obtained while in service. Since I was discharged I have been trying to locate the best place for care. This was my first appointment at this location and I was hopeful that this would be the place.
The staff was very helpful, they explained everything they had to offer and seemed to have great treatment options.
I cannot argue either way as to how effective their treatment is as I only attended one time.
What bothers me is the number companies out there that do not support, offer any benefits, or have any incentives for the men and women who, have and still do, serve this country and fight for the freedoms that we take for granted. Sadly Back to Wellness is one of these companies.
The day following my treatment I was contacted by Back to Wellness. I was informed that my benefits would only cover a certain percentage and that the rest would be out of pocket. A whopping $90 for the first general office visit and $70 thereafter! I cancelled all of my future appointments because I would not be able to afford that. I was never informed that I would be charged let alone so much money out of pocket. If I had been informed up front I would have cancelled right away. I asked if they would compensate in any way, yet they offered nothing. I never expected them to waive my fee but hoped that it could at least be discounted a bit. About 3 days later I received the $90 bill in the mail.
While I don't believe in handouts, it is unfortunate that companies such as this one are unsympathetic to injuries caused or aggravated during ones military service. We, soldiers, have put our lives on the line and have made so many sacrifices to ensure the safety of our country and our freedoms yet we can't even get affordable health care.
My insurance covered 80% and I am very thankful for that, had I not had the insurance my bill would have been astronomical. I do understand that this is a business and they need to make money yet without our service where would they be? If not for the sacrifices that those who guarded this country before me, beside me and all those that will come after me where would any of is be for that matter?
There are too many companies like this one and it is so disheartening. Again, I can't speak to the services they provide but I can say that I know what they services they do not provide. I, for one, refuse to be a patron to companies such as this. I was too good and too proud a soldier to support companies who do not support the very foundation of our rights and freedoms. read more
