This was my first visit there, and it was so enjoyable. I walked in, paid, and went directly to the TMNT cabinet, beat that twice, then played Area 51, which is a great old light gun game, then another light gun game called LA Machineguns, and a racing game that I can't remember the name of, but it was great. I haven't been to what I'd call a real arcade since I was like 11, and I will absolutely say this place is a real arcade. It felt like I was stepping back into the places I went to in the '90s, and it was weirdly the most at home I've felt in years. The price was $20 for the whole day, and all the games activated by just hitting the start button. The cabinets are in impeccable condition, and the woman working there today was so chill and friendly. I'll be going back very, very frequently. Thanks back to the arcade for an experience I haven't had in over 20 years. You guys rule. read more

Great place, lots of fun, super friendly staff, and a variety of games. It is the highlight of this mall, for sure. Twenty bucks gets you in as long as you want; just hit the start button on whatever game you're into and that's it. My favorite of the many pinball machines is the JAWS game. Iron Maiden's pinball game is a close second, though. If you're a Pac-Man fan, then you owe it to yourself to visit this place. They have a row of games from this series, including my favorite, Ms. Pac-Man. Also, a couple of Mortal Kombats, Q-Bert, NBA Jam, an air hockey table, a basketball game, a Skee-Ball, and hybrid basketball-Skee-Ball game. And the condition of the games is excellent; the owner and employees routinely wipe everything down. You don't feel like you're placing your hands on surface that's already been touched by a hundred others before the last cleaning. If you're an arcade fan, a pinball fan, or just looking to kill a few hours with twenty bucks, you must visit. read more

Finally! An Arcade with ARCADE GAMES! You pay per visit. But it's worth it if you make an event out of it. I'm 24 and took my niece who's 10. And we had a blast! They have Air Hockey, then Hockey foosball. Nostalgia 10/10...Real Fun 10/10 Thank you "Back To The Arcade" for healing my lost faith in Modern Day Arcades lol. read more

Excellent!! Had so much fun here and the owner was great! Would highly recommend. There's a great selection of games to play!

This arcade is located in a very dead mall. It's probably the best thing the mall has going for it. $20 bucks gets you unlimited games. It's not huge but it's packed with classics like 4 versions of packman, dig dug, donkey Kong, qbert, and many more. There's a nice selection of pinballs. Just a handful of driving games but they linked and that's always fun. There are a few shooting games to round out the options. All of the games were in working condition and set to free play. They offer free coffee and water which is a nice touch. read more

Such a great selection of pinball and every other game you could think of!!! Such great price and owner is super nice dude !!

Reasonable price for free play machines. I couldn't understand the employee because it was too noisy on what was covered and what wasn't but enough room, picked a day with hardly any kids, and free coffee and water on a hot day outside was a good combination for a fun time with a friend. There was a Stranger Things pinball machine, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles machine with several flippers, a few ramp slides, and a sometimes spinning pizza that sometimes helped lol. 4 pacman machines put together including two alternatives I'd never played before till now- Plus I think and something else. I bombed out on all the games fairly soon lol. read more

Back To The Arcade - Pinball machine at Back - Arcades Near Me - Allentown, Pennsylvania

I've done my fair share of the arcade game over the years. Be it the corporate route with Dave and Busters or the independent retro route with Silverball in Asbury Park, NJ or the now defunct one that was in Daytona Beach. The setup here is you come and pay at the front and then you play (duh). All machines are set to free play and from there you go until your fingers fall off. There is a decent mix of newer and classic pinball and all of the expected favorites with things like Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, knuckle bleeding air hockey and all possible Pac Man derivatives, etc. If I had to make three minor critiques to keep them "honest": 1. More sports games. I know they're aren't exactly a ton of classic arcade sports games but maybe if possible something like RBI Baseball would be nice if it's out there somewhere to be added to the collection. 2. The guns of the hunting games are iffy at best with working. The one on the right side didn't work the whole time we were there. Maybe every twenty shots you would be told you hit something where as the other gun was mowing Bambi down left and right. 3. I wish the store front were larger. Only because then there would hopefully be more machines. More of a good thing is never bad idea. Whether or not you're above a certain age...it's hard not to like the retro arcade concept. The equation is very simple: Nostalgia + Hours of fun + reasonable pricing = A hell of a good time. read more

Mark and crew at 'Back to the Arcade" provided wonderful service for our daughter's 13th birthday party. It was great to be able to invite parents to stay and play alongside the kids! We enjoyed classic favorites from the '80's (not recreations running on modern flat panels, but true original games exactly as they were when we were in 7th grade, give or take a few years)! We are thrilled to recommend any gathering of up to 50 people to skip the coin-slot and play for as long as you like! Book well ahead of time as their calendar fills up quickly! read more

Back To The Arcade - Back to the Future/Arcade - Arcades Near Me - Allentown, Pennsylvania

I'm here to make a huge shout out to Mark and his staff for providing my family and I a remarkably profound experience at Back to the Arcade. Growing up in the Lehigh Valley, the South Mall was once a thriving location in a time where malls, arcades, mall Santas, and video stores were all at its peak. Fast forwarding many years ahead into the new millennium, the swing and vibe has changed in ways that are unimaginable. However, the Back to the Arcade experience allows one to take a glimpse into the past, allowing you to time travel to a different, more simpler time, giving you a fun and refreshing break from modern life. I first stumbled upon this hidden gem back in July 2024, with my fiance and a close friend. We had an absolute blast, and were blown away by the unbelievable price. I have been based in Los Angeles for the past several years, and after four long holiday seasons away from my home town, I looked very much forward to bringing my family to this thrilling arcade experience since my last visit in July. My family arrived just about over an hour before closing. I was warmly greeted by Mark, and he shared our love for arcades. With the remaining time in mind, I asked if there was any chance he could consider granting us a deal for the family with a shorter block of time remaining, and ended up allowing us to enter the arcade for $10 a person. This type of generosity cannot be overlooked. In addition to this, he offered us the opportunity to stay and play a little bit past closing, without a wince of rushing us out. Mark treated us like family from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, and I truly could not have asked for a more special occasion. As a Los Angeles resident, I must attest that this is one of the best arcades I've ever been too. I wished I could go more often. If you love arcades and love in the area, please don't overlook this incredible gem. It is imperative that small businesses like this remain in tact in our communities as long as possible. read more

Can't post that you will be opening an hour late, can't put a sign on the window to let people know. Ruined my daughters day! Then is sooo immature after a complaint is made, sends you a message on messanger and then blocks you before you can respond. Horrible business if you cant take a simple complaint or simply inform people your opening late. read more

Certainly a hidden gem in Allentown. Stopped in at the south mall with friends a few days back when I caught wind of a nearby arcade. As a huge arcade fan, I was thrilled with what I saw. Back to the arcade is your immediate ticket to an immediate escape to the nostalgia of the 1980s and 1990s. The price is a steal deal too. For just 20$, you can play as many games as you wish for the whole day! This is the best arcade deal I've ever stumbled upon. The arcade is sprinkled with great ambiance. With in the store you'll find neon decor, photo opportunities, and futuristic ambiance. There are all types of games, including racing, pinball, skeeball, Pac-Man, and much more. There is certainly something for everybody here. Definitely looking forward to visiting again when I'm back in the Lehigh Valley with some of my true blue game fanatic family! read more

Back to the Arcade is something unique in the Lehigh Valley, it's a retro Arcade. This place is full of mostly 80s arcade games with a few early 90s games mixed in plus a bunch of pinball machines as well. Most of the pinballs look newer but I don't know enough about pinball to tell. If you are looking for the greatest hits of the 80s arcade scene this is the place for you, they have PacMan, Qbert, DigDug, Donkey Kong, and my favorite Tapper. They also had some of the better games of early 90s Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2, and Area 51. We went on a Wednesday so it was half price day, so it was $10 a person for all you can play. There are plenty of games to play to keep you busy for an hour or two. They also have a party room here for birthday parties. Overall a great blast from the past and a great way to spend some time indoor on a hot summer day. read more

Best Arcade yet! This is now top of our list of places to play pinball. My favorite game was Nightmare on Elm Street. There are only a handful of games that are not on free play or marked not working. Every game we played was great, nothing malfunctioning by tilting or balls getting stuck. Employees were constantly wiping down the machines between players. They have a room for private kids or adult parties. The owner Mark is a complete sweetheart and obvious fan of back to the future, among other things. Photos of this place don't do it justice you have to see it in person and experience it to truly appreciate it. read more

This place is amazing. Pay one price, play all day. Cleanest arcade I've ever been to -- they go around wiping down the machines constantly. Fun layout, cool arcade lighting, best retro games out there. You can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do -- everything is in tip-top condition. Lots of pinball machines (my fave), air hockey, skeeball, large variety of video games, etc. Super nice people. If you haven't been to Back to the Arcade, you're truly missing out! read more

We had my son's birthday at Back to the Arcade. The adults enjoyed themselves more than the kids! The owner, Mark, was easy to work with, and really has a love and passion for the Arcade. We rented their back room, which had lots of space for our family. I also suggest getting your pizza at Dino's in the South Mall...delicious and right around the corner. They even gave us a discount for having the party at the Arcade. My mom was impressed at how attentive the employees were to us and other guests. They walk around and santize the machines all the time, and offered us water and coffee. All kids at the party got to take home a prize! Great place, cannot recommend enough! read more

We had my son's 10th birthday party there last weekend. We didn't book a party but brought my son and 6 friends plus 3 adults. They gave us a discount because of the size of our group and only charged the adults $10 instead of $20 so we saved $30 which was awesome! The place is great! The kids and adults had a great time. My husband said the only thing missing was beer. Lol. The owner and staff are also fantastic and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time! We will definitely be back and recommend it for a party. read more

This place is great. All kind of classic video games. The owner, Mark, was extremely friendly and has created a great retro environment. Cost for adults was a flat $20.00 for all day play for virtually all the video games and pinball (there are one or two large games that it looked like you had to pay to play though, just FYI). But if you are only going to stay a few hours they may cut you a deal on the price. Will definitely go back again. read more

This was a sweet and fantastic space for our son's 8th birthday. Mark and Crystal were a dynamic team, and were so kind to us. We were able to bring in food and drinks and host a group of ages 2-72, and everyone had a blast. The fine tune stressors and details of other venues were non-existent. Dino's Pizza in the South Mall delivered to us and we're excellent. What great people all around. Our fullest recommendation to any families looking for a birthday party space. read more
