I haven't been to what I'd call a real arcade since I was like 11, and I will absolutely say this place is a real arcade. It felt like I was stepping back into the places I went to in the '90s, and it was weirdly the most at home I've felt in years. The price was $20 for the whole day, and all the games activated by just hitting the start button. The cabinets are in impeccable condition, and the woman working there today was so chill and friendly. I'll be going back very, very frequently. Thanks back to the arcade for an experience I haven't had in over 20 years. You guys rule.

Twenty bucks gets you in as long as you want; just hit the start button on whatever game you're into and that's it. My favorite of the many pinball machines is the JAWS game. Iron Maiden's pinball game is a close second, though. If you're a Pac-Man fan, then you owe it to yourself to visit this place. They have a row of games from this series, including my favorite, Ms. Pac-Man. Also, a couple of Mortal Kombats, Q-Bert, NBA Jam, an air hockey table, a basketball game, a Skee-Ball, and hybrid basketball-Skee-Ball game. And the condition of the games is excellent; the owner and employees routinely wipe everything down. You don't feel like you're placing your hands on surface that's already been touched by a hundred others before the last cleaning. If you're an arcade fan, a pinball fan, or just looking to kill a few hours with twenty bucks, you must visit.

The entrance is a little weird to get to with a bunch of twists and turns, but once you get inside you're greeted by the front desk. We dealt with two different gentlemen (not sure on their names). They were both incredibly friendly, funny, and made our experience super enjoyable. We ended up playing our first round with a large childrens birthday party where the kids stomped us in rankings. Definitely a blast, even if we didn't know them. The second and third game were played with just us two. The arena is HUGE and of course dark. With the different obstacles and maze-like set up, it is actually pretty scary snooping around looking for one person. We ended up unintentionally scaring each other so bad so many times that we almost lost our voices. It was a total blast. The prices are great, staff is friendly, and the games whether with a huge group or just one on one are incredibly fun. We will definitely be back and bringing friends. Just got back from a long weekend at West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert, PA - note we were there for…read morean event that was not the annual "West End Fair". I was there for a music festival called moe.down (it has a bunch of bands the main act being the jamband from NY called moe.). Let me just say if you are considering attending a music fest at West End Fairgrounds this place is pretty ideal for a small to medium sized fest. Plenty of flat ground to camp or RV. Lots of buildings to house some of the infrastructure. The ground generally has good drainage (we got some heavy rain for a bit and while it did pool, I think a lot of it went away relatively quickly. Also the location of the site is VERY close to 2 supermarkets, one of which is the largest ShopRite in existence! I had never been to Gilbert before but there is def stuff to see in do within an hour that you could add on before or after an event here. Overall I was very impressed and would happily return!

For Halloween this year a few of us decided to do something different. We saw an ad about a costume…read moreparty happening at a paint and sip store in Bethlehem and thought: why not? I've been hoping to nurture my creative side and doing it while drinking might help get my juices flowing. Their website boasts a whole array of paintings, there are pretty landscapes, rustic designs and some fun and festive ones, priced around $25-45 each depending on the length and difficulties. I saw a few more challenging ones that I'm very interested to satisfy my type-A personality. There's also one that you can install some lights to shine through the canvas. I'm definitely going to sign up for that. Since it's a BYOB, we went to buy two bottle of wines, dressed up in our costumes and headed out to check this out. It was located in an unassuming strip mall on Nazareth Pike. We were met with very pleasant staff who dressed as zombies and zombie hunter while assuring us that they usually look more normal, ha! The manager painted himself as Vincent Van Gogh' self portrait, I thought to myself that we were in for a creative night. The painting itself was a gloomy zombie walk in a grave yard. It lends itself to some fun shadow work. The host taught us how to paint it step by step with funny anecdotes and games in between while we refill our wine glass every now and then. Two hours flew by and everyone finished their paintings on time. I think we all left satisfied. My other friends later saw my handiwork and commented on it and I think we'll come back to try other ones. What a fun hobby to pick up!
