I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company! They assisted me with setting up my 91 yr old Dad's apartment with safety equipment after he suffered a fractured ankle. Even the physical therapist was impressed with their suggestions and installation. The pt's knew about them already through other clients and said they are simply the best at what they do. Nancy came out to meet with her and offered wonderful ideas for the bathroom, including a new showerhead and strategically placed grab bars. Jim handled the installation with great care, leaving everything spotless - and even gave my grandmother a hug, which absolutely made her day! I strongly disagree with the July 2024 negative review from Madison. Our experience with Back Home Safely has been exceptional since our first contact in 2017. At that time they installed double stair railings and grab bars in the bathrooms as well as at the top of long steep stairways. They were extremely patient, knowledgeable, and professional in accommodating a scared, reluctant patient with a new hip replacement. They recently installed a starlift in my home prior to a second hip replacement. We visited the showroom several times to test out the available models and to ask a million questions over and over again. Greg has the patience of Job and was very attentive, reassuring and professional with a great sense of humor. Mikey the installer was outstanding. He performed a masterful job installing the lift in a narrow space resulting in a perfect fit from day one. I absolutely love my stairlift and use it all the time. Both Greg and Mikey were very accommodating to my needs and preferences and bent over backwards to please this tough customer. They were very compassionate and understood the challenges that patients face in dealing with disability and medical restrictions. I highly recommend this company and cannot say enough positive, glowing things about these two exceptional gentlemen. read more

Back Home Safely installed multiple grab bars of different types for my wife with Parkinsion's. They also provided a new step at a sliding door that had a deep step to go outside. Both Kristin, the rep who walked through the house with us and helped us decide what we need and Steven, the installer, were punctual, helpful, and very friendly. Run, don't walk away from this company. Upfront sales people are personable. Service is horrible. Suggested cutting the legs off my mother's antique bed because it was too high, as opposed to getting a thinner mattress or a combo box spring/mattress. Purchased a stair chair for my mother. They installed it, and at the base, they drilled through her antique Persian rug (6 holes) without asking, or without moving the rug 6 inches (which there was room to do) to avoid drilling through the rug. When we called to complain, politely, we got the owner/senior manager who didn't care and gave us attitude like it was our fault. Said they drill through rugs all the time without asking and no one ever complained. Have told every contractor/architect we know to steer clear of this organization. read more

My experience with this company started on May 20, 2024; it was recommended by the rehab center where I had been a patient. Gregg came to my home on 5/20; he was very nice, seemed very knowledgable and interested in helping me. We developed quite a list of items to be done. I got a hospital bed and a wheelchair through them within a month or so. The rest of the list has apparently been ignored; I have called once or twice a week since the end of June. Most of my calls are answered by nice women who promise to give Gregg the message to call me back; he has never returned a single call. One week, no one answered the phone at all. I did actually speak to Gregg once, and asked him about my order; one item was a commode; he told me he had one in the warehouse and would bring it to me himself the next day; he did not, nor did he call to explain. I called the office today and got a recording to leave a message. I told them to cancel the remainder of my order and to expect a poor review, so here it is. In my opinion, Back Home Safely is very unreliable and does not provide the services they promise. I would never recommend them to anyone. Their failure to perform puts disabled people at risk. Update: Shortly after I left the message this morning, telling them to cancrl the rest of the work order and to expect a poor review, Gregg himself called me. He apologized all over the place and offered to go get a commode right away. I told him not to bother. He then apologized some more and said he thought my order had been completed. Unbelievable! The items that weren't done are: (1) a commode, (2) hand rails around two toilets, (3) refit a shower to accommodate a shower chair, (4) the shower chair itself, and (5) repair the end of an outside ramp. it's ridiculous! Why did he think I kept calling and leaving messages? As far as I can see, he was lying. Again, I have had a dreadful experience with Back Home Safely. read more

Let's set the scene for Back Home Safely. You have a family member coming home from the hospital and she has limits to mobility. You don't have time to wait for a regular contractor to estimate the job - you need something quickly and even need advice about what you will need to adapt. I was given their name by a rehab person at St. Claire's. They were over in 2 days and in less than 2 weeks the work was all done. I needed to rent a stairlift and was lucky enough to find Back Home Safely. I can't recommend this company highly enough! Gregg was kind, understanding, and sincerely wanted what was best for me. A very rare quality these days. He understood that I needed a stair lift immediately and made sure that the installation was done promptly. All done with a great sense of humor which cheered me up immensely, at a very affordable rate, and with great skill on the part of the technician who installed the stair lift. The technician came promptly , explained everything, was generous with his time, and made sure that I felt safe and comfortable before he left. Received a great recommendation for this company from Kessler Rehab & I could not agree more. A family run business which takes pride in providing quality service for your family member's physical disability. I needed an outdoor stair chair lift installed because I ramp would not work for the location. I had to reschedule installation a few times & there was never an issue. When I finally needed installation I was pressed to get it installed asap. Also not a problem & they were so understanding. The chair lift works great and we were able to rent it. If we decide to purchase it the installation fee will be applied to the price or we can continue to rent. This gives you some flexibility. They offer a variety of services but my review is based on an outdoor stair chair lift. read more

We got a recommendation by A rehab hospital and honestly I don't know what I would do with out these guys. They put in a chair lift, grab bars, tub step and made sure there was ample room to be able to maneuver things like wheel chairs. They did more for home mobility then the ot guys and saved my father from going to a nursing home. It ain't over yet, my father is still slowly recovering, some things needed to be changed for personal preference, but these guys have been helpful and professional. I just recently had a chairlift installed inside and outside by Back Home Safely. Mike was the installer. He did a terrific job installing both chairlifts! He explained how to operate the chairlift and the safety features were explained. I am on a three month trial basis and then i can choose to rent or buy, which I intend to buy. The chairlift is giving me freedom to get around my house so much easier and to get outside again. I highly recommend them. read more

We have had a chair lift since 2017. It took over 6 months to get someone on the phone to discuss buying out the chair or discuss the amount paid quarterly over the years. Well, it was regularly discussed but no one on the phone has authority. So they promise you a call back...but that didn't happen. You will note they do not put their phone number on the bill. I guess this is for a reason. It felt very much like delay tactics for 6 months plus to come up with an arrangement. While the chair is fine and is only used twice a day or so, I feel the office is intentionally difficult to get a hold of. They are not flexible on pricing and I am confident they will respond here and say this is our fault. I assume average customer is elderly and this is just a billing machine to rack up payments. read more

They have installed everything from a stairlift, to bathroom grab bars, and even reflective tape on the basement steps. I would never in my right mind allow this company to fix , install or renovate anything in a friends or family's home. They were contracted to renovate an existing bathroom for my father with health and mobility issues. With out getting started on the substandard work, walls that aren't strait, (hey I'm not suppose to see the spackle or seams in a new wall ...really come on ) tile job so bad that if u were to run your hand down the wall u could cut yourself. They even put an inch high room transition strip in a wheelchair accessible bathroom (what u have to get a rolling start to get over the lip) to top that off it wasn't even secured to the floor (grout is not met to secure metal ). You would hope they use secure fixtures strong enough so and older person could grab just to steady themselves, well a clothing rod is not meant to be used as handicap shower rod... I would say not so much .... now I'm suppose to rate with stars ... Gregg would you do this kind of job to your father's house ? Would u be ok sleep well if your mother was taken advantage of in a time that all she said was "make it so he can come home " obviously this is suppose to be a review that gets a star or 5 stars ... well I'm old enough to remember just showing up doesn't get u a star for anything (by the way the workers who were suppose to start early didn't get to the site till 10am every day ) yeah enough said . read more

Back Home Safely was hired to renovate a bathroom to make it handicap accessible for my father who has health issues. The owner Gregg accepted the job and time constraints. The bathroom is a total disaster and there is not 1 thing correct including bowing walls, a tile job that needs to be replaced and all of the finishes are cheap and also need to be replaced. After having him come and view the faulty, substandard work, with another licensed contractor there as well to back up what we already knew, he STILL expected to be paid. So over the course of the next few days we have had to pay a plumber to correct what his contractors messed up and will continue to have to make changes to make the bathroom SAFE and functional, which he was supposed to do as a handicap contractor. We are out thousands of dollars and will have to spend thousands to rectify the situation . AVOID this company at all cost. They completely misrepresented themselves! read more
