He recommended Marc with AMC Granite & Cabinetry to help me nail down the layout and provide the beautiful maple cabinets and granite countertops. The tile work was exceptional. My concept for the backsplash was not exactly conventional, but tile master Mike was willing to help me figure out how to pull it off. Mike is also a master plumber, and Joe a master electrician, so it's one stop shopping: They take care of everything. The work area was neatly sectioned off with plastic, so no dust got into the rest of my living space. Pro Bros broke all the stereotypes of contractors who don't communicate, don't show up, etc. The lines of communication were always open, they showed up when promised, cleaned up after themselves, and got the job done in the agreed-upon time frame. The workmanship was top notch, the cost fair and reasonable. Brothers Mike, Joe and Charlie, and their entire crew, were all professional, personable, and considerate of my time and space. I recently hired J.C. Brothers Construction for a very small office renovation project. It was a…read morevery simple job, but ended up being a horrible experience working with this company: The work was poor quality--many new walls were not built correctly, or flush/plumb. They installed some tile which cracked both at the grout lines and in the tile itself. They accidentally drilled many holes into a finished wood floor. There were many mistakes reading and understanding the drawings I issued, which led to more mistakes that needed to be fixed, sometimes multiple times. They also do not understand or follow building codes. There is almost no supervision of the workers, which also led to many preventable mistakes. They will say they can complete work by a certain day, but then no one shows up for days at a time and the work does not get completed by deadline. They will propose a price for work and then immediately increase the price, or say that the price they proposed did not include many obvious things that were clearly in the scope of work. They said they would include debris removal in their proposal, but then demanded I secure and pay for repeated dumpster deliveries. As an architect and consumer, I would never work with J.C. Brothers Construction again, and would never recommend them to a client or other architect.
