This is a generational neighborhood greasy spoon neighborhood dinner/dive type vibe done oh so…read moreauthentic and well. Type place where you know what to expect... you get what you want and you know why you're there. (Probably not a salad) keep going, Brothertons! You make everything better when I'm feeling homesick. I think it's the wood paneling inside or the predictability of the broken doorknob to the women's bathroom. (if you try to lock it, you will most likely only be locking yourself in until your family notices you have been gone awhile . Have a good buddy watch the door for you) Tbh I've never seen the doorknob NOT "out of order"... now it's part of the charm of the joint... yep. Now you know. I have been ordering double-decker club sandwiches from Brothertons for decades because my father took me there and his father took him there. I like the turkey club double-decker with plain grippos potato chips (portion lasts me two meals) Recently tried their chicken and waffles, and it was actually pretty delicious. My other go to is a BLT double-decker on Rye add Guetta, fried egg and American cheese. I admit I come here hung over most of the time and it's perfect and I love it but you don't have to be hung over for Bretherton's family restaurant to hit the spot... you could also be really high. I was anxious to get on the road ahead of the blizzard but here we are. From the first moment when we were greeted by regulars and I raised eyebrows by asking for a glass for my PBR, I knew I was among friends. Regulars had all brought in food and we were warmly invited to partake. Everything from home baked cookies to Arby's! And a world class collection of sports memorabilia. Really world class. I wish this was in my hood. But I was told it is often this way during games, so I will be bringing my new friend, who does live nearby. I totally forgot I needed to get on the road and enjoyed myself. And if you know me, you know how unique that is. So if you can, visit here ASAP. And you can thank me later.
