I bought this through Groupon which I've always been really happy with using and I never usually write reviews but my experience was that bad that I want to stop people from going here. The building was cheap/sketchy looking to start with. There was no locker room/place to change and the rooms where you received a massage opened up the the main counter where during the massage you could hear the staff and other people talking throughout the entire hour massage. In the rooms the massage tables were covered with a single towel and white paper (like what's at a doctors office). I tried to get over the overall feel like dinginess and uncomfortable feeling but then the massage itself was TERRIBLE that I was either in tears or on the verge of tears the whole time. Although it was deep tissue, I know that my experience should not have left me in tears and got to the point where I had to ask her to stop. Even after a horrible experience, with the appearance and feel of the building itself and the massage we left a tip in the massage room. As we were leaving the women went into the room to look at the tip and approached me for a bigger tip! Please do not come here, I'm sure there are places that you can pay a similar price that won't leave you feeling upset, sore and drive you to take the time to write a poor review. I'll never get a cheap massage again :( read more

I had never had foot reflexology. The massage and foot reflexology was a reasonably priced package. I wanted something inexpensive and this fit the bill. I really wanted to like this place, but they were just okay. I got a couples massage with my friend. First, we asked if we could use the bathroom before hand, and one of them seemed mad. Then, they didn't ask what level of pressure we wanted...they just started massaging. The worse thing was that they were chatting to each other during the massage, which was unprofessional. The massage itself was so-so. I left them a 15% tip even though the massage was not great, and they were pissed. I will go elsewhere next time. read more

Rainbow is exceptional. After a 60 minute foot massage, I could have danced all night.

Definitely worth the price. As others have stated, this isn't for focused injuries. It is a full body massage, and will be hard to explain if you have tightness or knots and need a particular focus on a certain area. With that said, the gentleman who was working on me seemed to identify on his own where my knots were and put extra attention as was needed. Most likely will go back. read more

I went to this spa today for the first time and I love the location because it is around the corner from Newbury street. My friends and I spent some times on shopping on Newbury. Our feet were so tired and we went in for some foot massages. I thought an hour of massaging would be too long, but it went by so quickly!! The therapist pressured all the spots that were sore and the way she did it felt great and relaxing. After the therapist massaged my feet, I definitely wanted more!! I have been to many spas. This spa is the best. The price is cheaper and the service is good. I did the foot and body message. Each one is one hour. It only took me $92 dollars. The environment is very clean and there is soft music. It make you feel real relax and make me sleepy. It is a nice place that you should try it. I am going to every month. read more

I have to agree with the previous low ratings. From my experience, here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1) easy to get an appointment (with virtually no advance notice for a Friday early evening), 2) ~$30/hr cheaper than other 1-hour massages that I've gotten; Cons: 1) paper towels instead of soft fabric that spas typically use for the tables; 2) rooms with partial walls mean that you hear everything that is happening in the other "massage rooms" (anything from conversations, back slapping sounds, etc.); 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY, my massage was plain painful. The funny thing is, the therapist asked me ~20 min into it whether she was hurting me because I think at some point I made a pain sound... so I said that yes, it was painful, and that it would be great if she could go lighter on me... not sure if just didn't understand or what but she continued with the same vigor for the rest of the hour... I left the place with memories of pain instead of relaxation. I don't plan on going back. read more

I went in with a lot of stress and tension and when I left, my body was tense and stress free! The atmosphere is very calming and welcoming . I was disappointed in the fact that there was no chat about sensitive or problem areas. The masseuse just walked in and began with no conversation. A little too much pressure at times and she didn't really listen when I said to stop. I left feeling pretty good but I was sore for 3 days. I've had better. read more

Hi, Everyone ! Today, I went to the Rainbow Health Center at 36 Gloucester St, in Back Bay. Caused my body has a lots painful in the my shoulders, back, lower back. My hips very painful and can't move. Hamstring and calfs all hurt. My friend send me a massage gift card and value is $49 for my birthday and said: " Go to try this place and maybe helps !". I called and made an appointment at 2:00 PM. The place is very nice clean on the 2nd floor. A Chinese women spoke well English and brought me enter a room. After few minutes she came back and introduced herself named is Angela and new work there. Angela asked me: " Do you want hard or medium? I told her: I prefer hard, because my whole body painful. She started works and from medium to super hard and deep tissue works too. Angela told me about my bodies has a lot problems as like a lot knots, muscles fibers adhesion. And both side hips have has sciatica problems and caused "ITB". And low limbs too tight and bother the blood circulations. Angela is a very knowledgeable Chinese masseuse. After 90 minutes massage and my whole body looser. I can't believes. It's AWESOME !!! The massage total spend $49 + other half hour for $39. I gave her $18 for tips, and she was happy and "thanks a lots". Angela's told me continue massage and after 2 weeks rebook her again. I will ! wow. for 60 bucks, this massage, i think, was better than most of the other spots that charge twice as much. this isn't some situation where they drop you in with some lady that just rubs you down for 60 minutes and you feel like you got robbed. no. these ladies are well trained and know exactly what they are doign to get the kinks out of your neck, back, whatever. she figured out that my right side - neck and shoulder - was super-tight and leaned into it with her forearm and elbow. excellent work on the lower back as well. couples massage in the couples room is what we got. made the reservation with just an hour or two notice and they were one of the only spa's in town that stayed open late. these chinese ladies are working hard for the money and nothing they do is short-changing you or is cheap in any way. i've been to spa's all over the world and all over the country and this massage was great. they are right off newbury and they aren't on the street level so i'm sure their rent is a good bit lower because customers have to walk up a flight of stairs but it is well worth being charged half. only caveats is that this isn't the Gansevoort Spa in Turks & Caico's ok. no steam room, nor jacuzzi, no meditation room / garden / lake or any of those amenitites. just a day spa indoors. but a very good one with great services. read more
