About 3 years ago I had a sports injury and a number of friends and family convinced me that I had to try acupuncture as a method of healing and pain relief. I live in Quincy and knowing nothing about it, I started an internet search that uncovered a couple places, so I gave them both a try. One was a small office that treated only the area around the injury and didn't turn out to be very helpful. The second was an older practice that had a great reputation but was a little dark and dingy.... Definitely not for me !! In a deeper search engine dive, I found Pan Healing. After two previous attempts at acupuncture and no success, I was a little hesitant to try it again but I'm so glad I did. On my first visit I met the owner Kristina. Kristina was definitely a person that was on the other end of the spectrum from the last two acupuncturists that I met. She had a very warm and bubbly personality and you could tell at the first meeting that she was a true caring professional. She was a former athlete and was very familiar with sports injuries so she sized me up pretty quickly and had a plan for me. The method that she used for me was "head to toe" acupuncture with an emphasis around the injury area. It was an incredible relief and absolutely got me in a better place both mentally and physically. If you have any fear of needles ..... forget about it! She is quick and precise with the needles and you will likely find zero pain and instead the rush of energy flowing to different parts of your body. As fate would have it, I had a second injury and she was able to treat me prior to surgery, the treatments put me in a better place physically before what was going to be a long recovery. Following my recovery from surgery, I plan to return for treatment to accelerate healing. However, I can't wait to just go when I'm injury free and just enjoy the bliss of the treatments. Pan Healing is a wonderful place with a beautiful clean/modern studio. It has great energy and a more focused approach to healing than most acupuncture places you will find. The location is right off of the southeast expressway, easy to get to with plenty of parking. Some health insurance plans cover acupuncture so check in advance. Side secret .... 2 years ago there were changes going on in my body that I could not explain and doctors visits could not be fix. My friend suggested an acupuncturist to me and how he felt after treatments. I am petrified of needles, but I felt like I was out of options and needed to try everything. I am happy, so happy I decided to follow through with acupuncture. I was diagnosed with MS at the beginning of 2016 and now that we knew what to work on and why I was having these health issues, Kristina knew how to treat me better. I began treatment 1x per week and did that for about 3 months and I came out of this cloudy feeling and constant fatigue I was feeling. Kristina has been amazing. I feel like after treatment I can do anything. I suffered from bouts of vertigo, loss of feeling in my face, constant fatigue, losing function in my right arm and speech issues. Kristina not only treated me with acupuncture, she began cupping, and massaged my back and neck to get the stress out of me. I am an extremely stressed out and anxious person, so the treatment really does help that as well. I hold all my stress in my back and neck so if I go less I can feel the buildup. Along with all the acupuncture success, Kristina and I share articles we find about health and wellness, as well as recipes and foods that aid in healthy living. I have changed my lifestyle. Less stress, more of plant based diet, as little cheese as possible because it causes blockage and brings out my vertigo. I started medication in the summer of 2016 but didn't feel any change like I felt from acupuncture and the lifestyle changes. My health insurance no longer covers my medication and apparently this will be a yearly issue where I will be pushed away from the meds I am comfortable with and shoved into trying what is new or whatever pharma company is padding those pockets. I am bitter about healthcare. Either way, I feel good and I owe it to acupuncture from Kristina and the changes made in my everyday life. I have learned so much from the things she talks to me about and the things I read that she sends my way. I never thought I would be a 36 yr old with MS, but I also never thought about taking care of myself so that I could live a longer and healthier life. I look forward to my treatments like I used to look forward to Saturday nights out partying. Now I am in bed early Saturday so I can wake up early, get treatment and enjoy the start to a new week refreshed and ready. I owe so much to Kristina. I know she truly cares more about my health and wellness. I have seen it in her work and how she communicates with her clients to make sure she understands what is happening. I've been seeing Kristina for acupuncture and related treatments for over a year now. I initially started seeing her for acid reflux treatment. Things had gotten so bad that I was reliant on regularly taking antacid for relief. I wanted to stop taking medication that neutralized stomach acid, and with Kristina's help I am no longer taking any medication for acid reflux, and when I do need a boost, I use all-natural food remedies along with acupucnture. What a relief it is to not suffer from an acidy esophogus almost every evening. Kristina has also treated me for bloating and other digestive issues to great success. I have also received cupping treatments from Kristina a number of times. I had bronchitis last winter, and cupping helped me feel better much faster. Kristina at Pan Healing is hands down amazing. I wasn't sure of how effective acupuncture was going to be, but it was. I have seen Kristina for 2 separate conditions. First, I got a bunch of mouth canker sores in my mouth from stress at work. She gave me 3 treatments and suggested some types of teas, and the sores went away in over half the time it normally takes. She has also given me treatments for my knee which i injured; minor ACL tear and torn meniscus. I decided not to get an operation, but instead heal on my own. The acupuncture sped up the healing and it feels as good as ever. I recommend going just for overall health and mindset, even if you do not have any ailments. Kristina is attentive, caring and just overall a really nice person. But if you do have anything troubling you, I highly recommend seeing her. read more
