Manuela is the most amazing acupuncturist! I had never had acupuncture before, and she was extremely gentle and caring, and explained everything she was doing. I have been to other acupuncturists and none have been as gentle as Manuela. She targets all the points related to specific issues I have, as well as general points for wellness. I went to see Leah because of the incredible reviews she received on Yelp. Unfortunately my experience was nothing like the positive reviews. I had been suffering from hamstring pain and after trying several other cures, I decided to try acupuncture. At my first session with Leah she explained I would probably get some temporary relief in a few hours and with each future session the relief would last longer until it would be permanent. I was hopeful. Unfortunately I had no relief after the first session. At my second session Leah was not available so I had one of her co-workers. Leah had told me they would do more at the second session. There were more needles involved and some firm massaging. Again, no relief. I woke up the following morning with significant back pain where she had put the needles. I called Leah who didn't express any concern or sympathy for my pain. She asked if her employee had done cupping. She didn't even know! She hadn't. Leah thought it might help and suggested I might get it somewhere else. She also agreed that if I hadn't had any pain relief in two sessions, it probably wasn't working. We canceled my next appointment and she hung up. There are so many issues with my experience here that it's hard to believe it's the same place that's received such amazing reviews. read more

I suffered from chronic upper and lower GI issues for over three years. There's magic in those tiny needles. How else can my intrusive daily headaches have been reined in after years of prescription and over-the-counter meds, physical therapy, and consults with recommendations from a physiatrist and a neurologist? Sure, the Advil for the headache pain, and hot packs on my shoulders, and posture exercises helped somewhat with the related muscle tension, but Leah's acupuncture treatment is the first treatment that definitively and meaningfully addressed my chronic headaches in an ongoing way. This has been that important a gift to my well-being. As a major additional benefit, when I happen to also have a bout of lower back pain (resulting from aggravating my desiccated spinal discs from, say, raking too much) Leah adds well-placed needles that temporarily but effectively remedy that discomfort, too, without drugs.
