Took my 97 Jeep TJ in for underbody suspension work. Back story, this Jeep was owned by Bach Crawlers previously, and I bought it from the guy who got it from them. There was pretty significant rusting underneath on the drivetrain/frame, which I knew going in. The reason for my poor review has to do with a few things. 1: You never know who you're going to talk to when contacting them (Austin, Misty, or Pete). We dealt with Austin initially, who was friendly and "sold" us on using their services. His initial assessment was that we'd be getting new driveshaft, 2 inch lift, and ball joints to square up some of the rust issues. Originally was told it would be "2-3 days" for completion. After about a week, he "went out of town, and his mother (Misty) told him to stop contacting us. 2:After about a week in the shop, and a few unsuccessful attempts at getting straight answers from them, I was told we'd need to have the rusted knuckles "cut off". Ok, no big deal, I know they were in bad shape. Fast forward a while and I finally picked up my TJ in worse driving shape than it was when I brought it in (took an entire calendar month). Suspension felt loose, noticed knocking sounds, death wobble, etc. 3: Misty, who I guess runs the front of the office, is simply defensive and accusatory when being questioned about their work, promises, etc. Avoid dealing with her if you can. 4: As some other reviews have mentioned, Pete is a friendly guy to talk to, which seems to be the sole reason that place is still in business. 5: After immediately taking my Jeep to an actual professional 4x4 shop in Parker, they were astonished that it had just gotten serviced and commented on several loose suspension components (still under the BC "100 mile retorque" blanket they like to hide behind). Bach crawlers installed the new springs on rusted out and broken perches, which allowed the springs to just move around and not seat properly. The shop in Parker is having to weld new perches on (obviously) for what is a glaring safety and functionality issue. Why couldn't this have been addressed at Bach Crawlers, rather than telling me I'd eventually need all new axles? I spent over $3k with this shop and feel like it made my Jeep worse. They did install new brake rotors/calipers which I will say are much better than before. Their MO, under the guise of saving you money (my guess), is to throw used, old parts on your car to fix whatever issue is present. They overcharge for new parts pretty significantly, and they give excuse after excuse (when you can get ahold of them) as to why their work isn't done yet. Others may have had good experiences with them, but I left feeling completely ripped off and that I had wasted a month out of my life in aggravation. This is the biggest sham,of all business PLEASE don't waste a minute is the company. They are not bbb approved. They take vehicles that are not there's. They will lie, steal to get your business and use every thing they have to take your money. They need to be shut down!!!! read more

10 months $4,000 repair bill. Wish I had done my research before taking my jeep to this place. Complete RIP-off. No status. Lost my phone number. Numerous follow ups with no status. Couldn't provide a bill other than to say $100 an hour is my rate. I'm convinced I was completely ripped off. Please do your research before taking your vehicle to this place. You're better off taking your vehicle anywhere else. My jeep ran the same as the day I brought in except now I have to take it to a real mechanic. read more

Just had some rear control arm bushings replaced. They did a great job at a reasonable price. A very knowledgeable shop.

I recently bought an 03 wrangler x and didn't know any vehicle history so I had Pete @ Bach Crawlers look it over and see what it needed. He found several things that needed to be fixed and went over my jeep top to bottom; literally finding and fixing things along the way. I wanted a reliable good running wrangler and now I have one thanks to Pete and his crew. Pete took great care of me and my wrangler and being able to have someone local I can count on is a great feeling. I'm confident he did me right and after having it back now it feels so much tighter and runs better. Pete knows a lot of stuff but his work is really shoddy. With all parts and labor, I probably spent close to $15,000 with him. Unfortunately, all I got was a rush job with not much attention to detail. I am not sure if he was just rushed or having other issues but I have spent close to a grand in labor just to get some stuff corrected. Welds on trackbar and Cs were terrible. One C on my Jeep is warped, causing a permanent caster difference of .6 degrees. This causes the Jeep to pull to the right. The master welder and the Jeep guys at GO thought I welded it all myself- they were that bad. AEV bumper was installed with three bolts and several washers missing. The acorn nuts that go on the fairlead were on backwards, causing the bumper to stick out 3/4 of an inch. So instead of trying to figure out why the bumper did not fit properly and closely enough to put the bolts ON it, he installed the bumper anyway, and put all the bolts UNDER the bumper on the winchplate instead of OVER. The bumper was just sticking out too far. Well, seven bolts instead of eight since he lost one and I need to order it from AEV. Then he hacked a bracket (due to his improper bumper install, the bracket was in the way) but not enough so the bracket's cut edge dug through my WARN Zeon winch casing (which I also bought from him). The RK suspension (X Factor 2.5 which I bought from him) was installed so badly, I could not go offroad. he assured me over and over that the tires would not hit the pinch seam since he had moved the axle back. Well THEY DID but mainly on the right (crooked axle install). They also hit the rear AEV bumper (35" tires) which I also bought from him. The trackbar bolt was hitting the bumpstop too- hard enough to gouge the metal out of the bumpstop. Pete never reversed it as should have been done. So I spend hours in Moab 4x4 Outpost where they fixed things -cut the pinch seam, reversed and shaved the trackbar bolt and laughed at the shoddy work while charging me $100 per hour. He never even cycled the suspension to make sure nothing hit anything. They used a forklift to cycle the suspension. Then I noticed rust coming from the AEV tire carrier spindle (which I also bought from him) and called AEV. They instantly knew that he had not greased the inside of the spindle before install. Sure enough, he had not but took it apart and did that after I drove back to his shop (I live an hour away). I doubt he even read any of the instructions for the bumpers or the tire carrier. The tire carrier kept rattling so he tightened it but I am now leary of this so I will take the bumper and tire carrier apart and reinstall. I could spend another ten minutes typing stuff. Stay away from Pete. Nice guy to talk to but probably the worst install mechanic anywhere. It's really too bad. I liked chatting with him. He seems to be a really nice guy and knows a lot a lot of stuff. It's just that for whatever reason, that does not translate into good work. I am reading more and more reviews about him on Wrangler forum and the other JK forums. I'm sticking with Rokmen and High Country. He has cost me a lot of money and caused a lot of headache, not to mentions days and days of wasted time. read more

This "company" is a joke at that. Tried to get my Jeep regeared and have a locker installed in the rear about 6 months ago. None of it was done and they ended up stealing $500 from me. Their business model is as follows: They take your money and put it into other projects, while making you wait in a queue. You will not receive the parts you order until somebody is behind you in the queue, and when you call them out on their Ponzi scheme, they get defensive and refuse you business. Furthermore, when you do finally get the parts you order, not all are there, however they do not provide itemized receipts, so you have no proof in a court of law unless you can prove you paid a certain amount to them, and then had to buy the missing parts again somewhere else. none of their technicians are certified. They do not have a reliable phone number, nor do they return your calls. None of the technicians have any certification, and are hired under the assumption that they can figure out what they need to do. They operated without a business license until they were caught. Lastly, if you confront them about any of the aforementioned problems in person, they will try to fight you in their parking lot. They will call you names, and threaten to damage both your body and your vehicle. Complete rip off, along with immature management have an utter lack of understanding of a practical business model combined with short tempers. Do not waste your time with these people. read more

After reading the other reviews I wasn't sure what to think, but I finally decided to go talk with Pete and Misty Bach because I knew one thing... I needed help. Wow, those other reviewers couldn't have had anymore of a different result than me. I bought a brand new '14 Jeep JK Unlimited last year. I knew I wanted to get a lift and bigger tires, but frankly I didn't know where to start. Things got worse as I tried to research what I should get. Next thing I know I am asking questions like, 'Whats better a monotube or twin tube suspension". Frankly, I still don't know what that means. Once I finally set my male ego aside (because I should know everything right?!?) I went and made my way over to Bach Crawlers. Pet and Misty were awesome! They walked me through all of my options. They told me things that made sense for me to do and they told me things that didn't make sense for me to do. It wasn't about what they liked or what was the most expensive option.... it was rather about my budget, my driving style, and my trail experience. They wanted to know how I was going to drive my "rig" so that I would be best equipped for what I do without being over equipped for what I do not do. I finally settled on Pete's Eagle Rock 3.5" Lift and 35" tires. Can you say Sweeeet! I also put a poison spider bumpers and installed a CB so that I could talk to people on the trail. My concern was that I would lose the drivability on the road. Since this is my daily driver I needed to find a balance between trail ready and work ready. Petes lift has been that and more for me. The ride is smooth and you almost can't even tell any difference from stock in the way it drives. However, it looks way tougher and handles like a dream on the trail. Needless to say I am extremely happy that I found Bach Crawlers. They really know what they are doing. I have been spending more time at the shop just hanging out than I should admit (my wife may read this :-) While there I have been impressed to see how Pete and Misty handle there business. They are consistently putting their clients needs first and without exception have been beyond honest with every person that has come through their doors. I want to tell of my experience at Bach Crawlers. About a year ago, I purchased air bags for my truck to help when I pulled my camper. I noticed they seemed to be leaking. When I purchased them, Back told me I had a year warranty. I called and made an appt on July 2 at 10 am and said I needed my air bags checked out. When I got there on July 2 I was told oh we need your truck all day. (Why wasn't I told that the first time?) So I made an appointment for 7/10. They had the truck all day. I got a text that said "without a load on the rear of the truck, we were not able to determine if and wherh there is a leak. You cam pick up your tru. The manufactures has some tips... I can relay to you." When I picked up my truck, I asked why I hadn't been told about the load. He didn't really have an answer. Well, I told him I would come the next day with a load on. He said any time would be ok as it was only a quick look. Due to circumstances, I didn't make it until today. 7/24/19. I called and left a message at 10:35 saying I would be coming after work. When I got there, I told the woman at the desk what I was there for. She went to the work area door and said I was there. A man, I assume the owner, said what she is here now? I told the woman it was the third time I was there and that I was also told I would get an invoice and warranty. She said oh it was you? Her demeanor changed completely. She said I don't like your attitude you need to come back another time. I said my attitude? She said yes you need to leave I have a right to refuse service. She also said your warranty is void. You need to leave now. She followed me out the door. I didn't raise my voice until she followed me out the door. Funny how eager they were to take my money when I purchased the airbags. I didn't have any issues with Pete. If he would have come out it I think we would have resolved it. She was horrible. I am going to write the Better Business Bureau. I have all the texts and correspondence. I wouldn't recommend this company. They don't even deserve 1/2 a star. read more

I agree with all negative reviews...obiously this company is not what it seems and will take you for every penny and not provide the customer service or parts in which you pre-pay for. They run on COD basis for a reason and the wife is extremely rude and unhelpful. They purchase their items from 4 Wheel Parts then add additional money as a mark up. I would suggest going directly to the parts store to save your $$. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GIVING THEM CASH!!!!! NOR WILL THEY ANSWER THEIR PHONE!!! Keep this in mind. Would definitely not recommend this company would recommend any other shop. Took them one month to install a gas tank tons of excuses. Finally picked up the jeep wasn't even done. Needed to filler hoses that he should've been aware of when he drop the tank three weeks prior. Never told me, never said anything until he told me to pick it up. I pour gas on the front it poured out the back as fast as I poured it in. I asked him why he wouldn't have put some gas in, he said only two lines. After waiting a month I picked it up ordered the parts myself. After putting gas in the tank, then realized he didn't hook up the lines properly. He switch the lines and therefore the jeep would not start. I drop the tank switch the lines put lock washers on where he didn't, then the jeep started. Exactly why I was amazed he didn't put gas in it and check it. His quality is terrible, otherwise he would've realized days prior that he needed a filler neck... When I called and asked if I could get a refund on the labor because I ended up doing all of their work over again, his wife said I was an asshole... I hope she was joking but she said her work was under warranty and I should've had them do it. I would've thought anybody including my young son could have dropped the tank put a new one in in less than one months time especially when you claim this is what you do for a living. How could she see bring it back when I didn't even do the job right the first time. Worst mechanic around. If you want a messed up jeep, messed up lift, or damaged and broken bolts then this is the guy for you. He forgot to tighten the shocks on my jeep after I paid him to install a lift, then refused to fix the broken shock mount bolts. After towing and repairs to the vehicle caused my his mexican engineering this cost over $500 to repair his $450 installation for a jeep lift kit. This is the kind of dishonest mechanic you hope you never run into. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR, JEEP, TRUCK, BICYCLE OR SKATEBOARD TO THIS PETE BACH CRAWLERS THEY ARE CROOKS AND WILL CAUSE MORE DAMAGE THAN REPAIR AND NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP OF ANY MISTAKES!!! He actually sent my friend a bill for additional $500 after he had been paid and gave the jeep back to him, saying additional labor for rusty bolts, and he saw the jeep before he accepted the job. Then he tried to put a lien on his truck, and take it from another repair shop!! All this because he is too lazy to repair broken bolts. SCAMMER!! read more

I would not give a star at all, but I would not be able to leave a review if I didn't........I cannot begin to tell you what a HORRIBLE experience my husband and I have had with this Back Crawlers. I cannot support a local business who will lie to your face, collect your money and continue to lie about the work they say they are doing......Pete & Misty are headed for some pretty heavy duty Karma in their world if they continue to do business like this. We brought our Jeep in to have work done and it took 7 days on a Job that should have taken a day...That's if you get to work before 11 am (oh, and their operating hours say 10am -5pm)!! What a JOKE! They were not there until 11:45am. I would not let him work on, even a dog house, ever again....Needless to say, I could go on for days about his nasty wife, but I have more tack and self-respect than that. They Lie and tell you they are doing the work and have not even started on it, tell you they are waiting for parts and then the very next day, tell you they were not waiting for parts..I could tell you so much more, but there's not enough room....We have referred great friends with Jeeps and Trucks that they will NEVER AGAIN get a reference from us. You should think about taking a business class on Tack and Professionalism and get your wife out from behind the counter because she is definitely not Customer Service Savvy.....Go with your Gut! Best offroad modification shop anywhere! Proprietor Pete Bach has been doing this forever and is very well known and respected in the industry nation-wide. He has spent TONS of time consulting with me on my Jeep Rubicon build. My '09 Rubicon is always one of the best looking and performing rigs on the trails. We were one of the only rigs on a big run last year that made it through Pritchett Canyon (one of the toughest trails at Moab, UT) without assistance and without damage! Pete has worked with seemingly every product on the market over the years and knows exactly what works with what, the pros and cons of all products, and what products will fit within your budget. He is honest and just loves the offroad industry. He isn't in it just for the money; having many times provided me with free advice that worked. Plus he and his wife are just plain nice folks!
