Delicious food, great beer, huge wine selection and wonderfully friendly and helpful people. While I'm not huge on strip mall locations, everything was about this place top notch. Definitely well worth be visit! read more

Amazing owners, good (if way expensive) wine selection, and phenomenal cheeses. Check it out if you're in the area! The only knock against them is that they close way too early. read more

Wow! Let me just say that this place deserves 5 stars for service, recommendations, selection, and atmosphere. We had a great time tonight. I have been to many wine tastings before and I was beyond impressed with the selection tonight. We even stayed and had a glass (or two) with a cheese plate which was incredible. I plan to come back before I leave and every vacation! read more

Awesome sandwiches. Excellent wine selection and wine by the glass selection. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend. Seek it out. Great for kids too. Extremely friendly service. The sandwich selection is worth it itself. read more

Our family has a trip to Carova planned for September 9. In mid-August, I called Bacchus and asked if they sold a particular brand of beer (Victoria, from Mexico). Jennifer said no, but that she'd ask her distributor if they could get us 6 cases by our arrival date. Just as she said that she would, Jennifer texted me (today) to say that yes, they would have that amount of Victoria beer waiting for us on September 9th. Thanks Jennifer and Bacchus Wine & Cheese! read more

This is one of those spots that makes you feel lucky to have something so cool and unique in your neighborhood. Except I'm not that lucky. However, this is a great place to visit if you're on vacation in OBX (like me) and looking to treat yourself to a bit of decadence. Or not even. You can browse the gorgeous selection of wines on one side of the shop, buy cheeses from all over the world on the other side, or just stop in for a sandwich. And speaking of sandwiches, their selection is vast and named after different places in the area (which I think is a fun touch.) For example, I ordered a Pine Island - smoked turkey, ham, bacon, smoked Gouda, lettuce, tomato and mayo. It was great. My boyfriend got a classic French dip and loved it. The beef au jus was flavorful and definitely not on the salty side as many tend to be. And I found myself dipping my sandwich in it too - no shame here. Nothing about this establishment is pretentious either. You think fancy wine and fancy cheese and you might paint a picture of something obnoxious but Bacchus is just... cool. And inviting. The owners run the register and make sandwiches alongside their employees and treat customers like friends. The shop is a reflection of their passions and they represent the shop well. Awesome side facts: They have daily wine tastings - six wines for $5 per person. You can pick up delicious chocolates and yummy accompaniments to go with your wine and cheese. And t-shirts with the shop's name and logo. Love. read more

Lunch was lovely. Sandwiches and wine after a morning on the beach. Lots to choose from. Gentleman even helped me pick a wine since none of my normal favorites (I am wine picking) were an option by the glass. Cute little shop and wonderful staff. read more

Bacchus At The Beach - Delis Near Me - Corolla, North Carolina

Absolutely love this place. The current owners have had it now for one season and did a great job. Any of the sandwiches and wraps are great. I love the Chablis and a good steady ole friend the French Dip. At some point I just want to go through every sandwich on the board. Order your sandwich, grab a beer from the cooler, enjoy the great sandwich, take a bottle of wine and some dinner fixings home with you and you are set! This isn't subway....they will be crafting your sandwich for you to running it down an assembly line so it takes a little longer. It also isn't subway prices but the quality is worth it. read more

This is a really good alternative to buying a rolls, deli meat, cheese, condiments, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and a bag of chips from the grocery store. Why? Because it is more cost effective for two people to bring lunch to the beach. It also beats the other options at this shopping center for sandwiches. That's about it. Otherwise, foodies beware: this place is average at best. I gave an extra star for having multiple veg options on the menu. read more

Spoke with Jennifer last night. Told her my price range and then my girlfriend and her family were on vacation and I would like a nice platter and bottle of wine delivered to the house. She was up for the task and made really good recommendations. I didn't have the right address. However I had the link for the house that they are staying. At which time she told me to email her the link and they would make sure that it was delivered appropriately. Their services and also quality of product is impeccable. I will use them again in the future as well suggest them to all friends and family vacationing in the area. read more

we found this place by accident on an off season vacation and they were so accommodating to us and our dogs. best selection of wine and best chicken saad sandwich we've ever had! will be back for sure! read more

I am a little bit of a food junkie so I love Bacchus. They have a very large selection of wine and a knowledgeable staff that helped me find the best wine in my price range. The cheeses and deli selection are great but I prefer the fresh cut steaks - they are delicious. One thing not mentioned in other reviews are the wine tastings. I'm not sure what the schedule is but we went on a Tuesday and got a good tasting, education on the wines, and then they had a huge selection of food paired with the wine. It is basically a tapas meal with wine thrown in, well worth the cost. read more

What a great find! Stellar sandwiches, nice wine selection, and super helpful advice for a group of us silly tourists. The veggie sandwich was packed with flavor and I'm actually a huge meat eater! read more

Serendipitously came in here over the weekend and we were thrilled to find it! The owner Kim was generous and easy going. She explained everything for our tasting and was patient. So patient that when a cantankerous customer came in demanding wine- he walks in the door, "Chardonnay." And Kim goes on to explain her offerings including providing a tasting and the man didn't so much as say thank you. I had to bite my tongue. Seeing this made me realize that this business owner treated everyone nicely and friendly customers get even better service. This just makes it even easier to come back here again and again. read more

For anyone who thinks 5-year aged gouda and Malbec wine are an appropriate vacation lunch, Bacchus is the place for you. Their selection of cheese, groceries, meat, and wine is excellent, and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help you find the perfect Friday-evening indulgence. Go in for the $5 wine tasting with fantastic information and suggestions on purchases and pairings. read more

Good little wine, cheese (about 10 to choose from), and sub shop! The subs were made with Thumann's deli meats and cheeses. This is a treat since Boar's Head seems to be the premium deli meat lately even though it can be bought at the grocery store. We ordered the Bacchus and Italian Stallion subs and were not disappointed. The pickles were awesome too! We were impressed. read more

The owner and her mom are insanely amazing. We talked to the mom who said her daughter decided to quit her corporate job and move to OBX and follow her passion of food and wine. They've built up a nice wine and food shop plus deli/sweets. You feel like you're important as they take the time to talk to you and answer questions. Cannot recommend enough. When we come to OBX we always get meat/cheese trays for the whole week. Highly recommend the raspberry tango dessert bar. read more

On our first visit to Corolla, we happened to come across Bacchus wine and cheese! We know that the real scoop lies in the local shops so we paid a visit. We were not disappointed! Jessica and Debbie made us feel so welcomed and tight at home. Their charisma and charm make stopping in a must when one visits Corolla. Jessica's knowledge of wines and personable touch will ensure that one is paired with wines that will suit your specific tastes. Stop by the deli to sample the gourmet meats, cheeses, and breads. The store is absolutely wonderful! Strongly recommended to stock up, or even restock when in Corolla! Cheers Jessica & Debbie! read more

Great place to pop into for wine, cheese, and meats. The good stuff.

Went here during a week long vacation in Corolla. We had a group of 6 people go for a tasting; 6 wines paired with 6 different foods. It was amazing! 3 whites and 3 reds paired with fig and brie, Greek pasta salad, shrimp cocktail with wasabi horseradish, mini filet strips on a crustini with homemade horseradish, red pepper poppers stuffed with aged cambazola (not sure on spelling) and dark chocolate made with cherries and chiles. Everything homemade and fresh and paired nicely with each wine. We sampled wines from the "one hope" brand; each bottle's proceeds go to a different cause. It was hard to choose just one to take home! . Our server David was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Definitely worth a trip if you are in the area! read more

Great sandwiches, including a turkey cheese steak. Incredible wine and beer selection, including to go. Cheeses as well...

Such a lovely shop! $5 wine tasting everyday! We had a fantastic time talking to Jessica our first tasting and Sam the second. They are super friendly. Jessica has a well-curated wine and beer selection and is super helpful. They even special ordered items for one of our group. We are going back again and can't wait to try something new. Definitely recommend going to try something new and brining a bottle back to the house for dinner to dessert or both! read more

Awesome place in Corolla (by the Food Lion) if you're looking for an amazing wine, craft beer and gourmet food selection. They do wine tastings during the week from 2 to 4 and everyone there is knowledgable, really nice and friendly. Went there 5 times during the week we were there and they were always tasting unique and wonderful wines which you can pair with a cheese board. Family owned and run; you have to stop if you're staying in Corolla! You won't be disappointed. read more

Delicious, fresh sandwiches (some of the best multigrain bread I've had), scrumptious desserts (we'll be going back for more of those brownies with caramel and coconut cream pie), and wonderfully friendly, accomodating service. I love this place! I'm visiting there a few time a year and a stop at Bacchus is a "must"! Their sandwiches are yummy- and they've got some awesome desserts to throw in also! AND- if you're up for some wines or beer they have a great selection of both. The best part is that the people behind the counter are awesome, chill and great all around folks! Can't miss going to Bacchus - be aware, lunch time will be busy so plan ahead and don't wait until your starving or you'll order more than needed and be stuffed to the gills! read more

Bacchus' new owners have done an amazing job in overhauling the space and making it more comfortable. The menu still has amazing soup & deli-style sandwiches. The afternoon wine tastings are a must if you're looking for something different to do! Try it out, you won't be sorry. read more

Adorable! We were just walking by and decided to stop in... boy are we glad we did! We did a wine tasting and enjoyed every minute of it. They have an amazing wine selection and great cheeses and snacks. They also have sandwiches. I could have stayed there all day! read more

Sad to see how far this place has gone downhill. Has been one of our favorite Corolla lunch spots for 14 years. Under new ownership now and is unrecognizable. Menu is changed and blase'. My wife and I ordered a sandwich and a salad. We each took one bite and decided to leave immediately. Paid my check and will never be back. Both tasted like we could have gotten them at Subway. (My wife actually thought the Subway comparison was too much of a compliment) Certainly not the delightful experience we have come to expect in our decade plus of patronizing what used to be one of our Corolla mainstays. Tragic demise for what has been a Corolla institution for our family for more than a decade. read more

This has been our first stop two years in a row while waiting for our rental to be ready. The sandwhich selection is great and always tasty and generous. The wine selection goes without saying...they had some nice beers also. It was not crowded at all at 11am on a Saturday...there is limited seating. We comfortably sat our party of 9. Stop at the Food Lion next door to pick up some stuff for the house before checking in. We went back for more sandwhiches later in the week. Staff are very friendly. They have bathrooms. They closed at 6:30pm during the week. read more

So to begin Thanksgiving Week, "The House Wasn't Ready!" .,,..and so we popped in to Bacchus to relax and refresh. As we all piled around a table, Jessica (the co-owner) was welcoming us with a sincere smile. Her unique wines and Belgian Beers began to flow, and the sun warmed the chilly afternoon through the big windows. She and her Mom offer really tasty sandwiches, gourmet cheeses, and a broad & deep retail section of fine wines and brews EVERYONE should visit this special local business (several times!) Thanks so much for a wonderful time, and wishing you a wonderful Christmas with lil Cora! -kevin read more

In the middle of the kids taking a surf lesson, we thought we better think about what we were going to do for lunch. Do we go back and make lunch or can we order a couple of sandwiches? We thought we'd put in an order. The website had a decent menu to look at online. We ordered 10 sandwiches and they were great taking my order and it was ready in 30 minutes all packed up for us to take to the beach. Order was perfect and just right. Great for a beach picnic. read more

Absolutely delicious sandwiches and wine. It is a little cafe style place (not a bistro) there is no real waiter service - not really a restaurant at all. Gets busy often - expect to wait for some things! But, its worth it. My only wish on this visit was that the wine bar was open and they had a few more accessories and food for sale. read more

Always a good stop for lunch in Corolla. Sandwiches were both yummy. Wine and beer selections were great.
