Accordingly, none of the dresses in there look familar from other stores or girls you've seen on the street - I can almost guarantee you will be the only girl rocking that particular dress. The stores stocks dresses for all occasions - the races, a wedding, lunch, work or a night out. The buyer for this store is obviously very, very clever. The girls who work in the store are incredibly helpful and friendly - I told them of the occasion I needed the dress for, and they came back to me with a range of options; so nice! The prices are reasonable - less than $60 for a day dress, and most of the stock comes in at less than $100. I suggest that instead of wearing the same Glassons/Sportsgirl number everyone else is, go to Saffron Road and fall in love with something original.

The store was sparse, filled with light and the homewares colour coded against the wall. That got my wife's attention as she loves colourful, well designed homewares. Everything was reasonably priced too. There also was a dinner table set out early with christmas decor and another table with nice organic jewellery pieces on it. There was even a little patio out the back where you can sit and try on shoes (as the friendly sales assistant suggests) as well as a bookshelf near the doorway with a range of wallpaper which had cool designs. To the back of the shop behind the cash register is the womens clothing. Prams and strollers can be easily pushed around in each section. This is one of the things I love about Biird is the product placement is clearly defined not jumbled together like your kid has just hurricaned through the shop and that one is able to wander around easily. Clovelly Road is a very busy street right up until the second roundabout where the 2nd block of shops are. It has some of the best bakeries, providores and of course Green Mango, Pasta Zu and Clodeli which are very popular eateries. Be savvy and use one of the side streets to park that has unlimited parking. For my little diva I purchase a couple of transeasonal pieces including a green Diesel layered dress and a beautiful cotton number from the brand Ouch. From the carefully thought out visual merchandising to the smooth Jazz soundtrack. I spent some time in here trying on things and perusing the racks with the attentive help of two beautiful and charismatic sales assistants. Both I will add, impeccably dressed from head to toe. The designs are unique with a nod to bygone eras. The designer has obviously thought about the modern woman with styles and cuts suitable for a myriad of body types. The clothes in the store are also very Parisian - very chic, and only to be worn by attractive and thin women. There's no doubt that the store has a buyer with very good, very consistent taste - but is it Australia? Is it Manly? I think not... The prices are certainly like those in the Galaries Lafayette in Paris, or in the designer stores along Rue de Georges VII - at $500 plus, a dress from Lulu Loves Paris is certainly an investment. The sales staff are equally Parisien - chic, with perfect tans and long thin legs. However, unlike their notoriously snooty French counterparts, the girls in here are happy to help.
