Selection of cards

I found some really cute and unique cards here, as well as one of a kind gifts. I could have spent hours looking through their inventory. They have a really unique collection of cards. If you're looking for something meaningful and different, this is the place to go. I came here looking for gender neutral anniversary cards and found plenty. As a gay couple, it's hard to find anniversary cards that aren't "to my husband from your wife" or vice versa. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best place in Long Beach to buy greeting cards. I don't know how the owner does it but he manages to find the funniest and oddest birthday cards and also just the right mood/message for sympathy cards etc. This is the only card shop I've ever "planed" to visit (ie I go out with the intention of driving to the shop to buy cards rather than happening to pass it and wandering in) and that speaks volumes.

Signed, framed artist prints!

This is the best card and gift shop in such a cozy setting. Michael is the nicest store owner and so helpful. The cards are so unique and the funniest. Pair the card with the Italian soaps, hand creams, salsa bowl sets, oil air fresheners, candles, jewelry, writing journals and even wrapping paper. There are such different things to buy here that you cannot find elsewhere and Michael does an in credible job putting the gifts together. I needed a Long Beach Naples - water scene and Michael made this suggestion. The gift receiver was thrilled. This boutique is the best! Thanks Michael!!

Babcock and Cooks is always my first stop for Cards & Gifts!

I loved the old store and this newer, albeit smaller version is equally great. A terrific place to find your cards and small unique gifts!

Dainty Disco is such a cute and unique craft studio in Long Beach, especially for decoden glue…read morecrafts! There aren't many places like this in the area, so it's a fun and creative spot to check out. I found them on Instagram and decided to go with some friends. I've been to two craft studios that are similar, so my review is based on experiences from other places. The booking process was super easy--you reserve online with a $10 nonrefundable deposit, which goes toward the final cost of your craft. When we went at 3 PM on a Friday, we were the only group there, so we had the whole space to ourselves. Free street parking was available right in front of the store, which was a plus! Just a heads-up, it's located in an older part of Long Beach, so keep that in mind. The studio itself is absolutely adorable - very girly and charming. It's a smaller space but seems like it could accommodate a few larger groups at a time, so if you're planning to go with a big party, I'd recommend inquiring ahead of time. One thing I really appreciated is that there's no per-person studio fee. The craft prices ranged from around $15-$45, which is similar to other craft studios I've been to. You can decorate a variety of items like jewelry boxes, mirrors, photo frames, claw clips, phone cases, and glass cups. There was a nice selection of beads, charms, glitter, and other craft supplies. Their website and Instagram list monthly specials, and this month's Hello Kitty and Sonny Angel-inspired phone buddies were adorable. The owner was incredibly sweet, and you can tell she puts a lot of love into her business. She originally started Dainty Disco as a gift shop, so there's still a small retail section with cute merchandise available for purchase. A couple of minor things could be improved. The lighting inside the studio wasn't the best--it was a cloudy day, which didn't help, but some additional overhead lighting would have been useful for crafting. Also, a few craft options were sold out; for example, they were out of the larger heart jewelry boxes and only had one smaller one left. I think a section on the website that lists the options for crafts with pictures would have been helpful in guiding customers ahead of time for their choices. Overall, we had a great time, and it was nice to support a small business! They also host monthly craft meet-ups, which I'd love to check out in the future. If you're looking for a fun and creative activity in Long Beach, I definitely recommend giving Dainty Disco a visit and I'm down to come back!

I'm already a pretty artsy person so this was right up my alley. My only feedback would be that I wish there were more beads and charms to decorate. I feel like the selection was a little slim and that could have very well been because we came a week after Halloween and perhaps it was a busy time? Regardless, the place was decorated so cute and the two hour time slot that I booked was exclusively for us, which I thought was really nice. Another note- the number on yelp is not updated and there are two addresses that come up when you search via google maps. Make sure you are going to the right location!

They think everybody is in there to steal so they'll either blatantly follow you around or take the more low-key approach and you'll notice they just so happen to start stocking shelves in the same aisle you're browsing in. They also like to do this thing where they announce over the P.A. system "Long Beach P.D. - Line One" to make you think they have called the police on you to get people out of the store!

My sweet, very patient mother has now had to make FOUR separate trips to fix a painting they originally damaged and incorrectly framed. Each time, instead of taking accountability or offering even the most basic apology, Kristen somehow found multiple different things to blame -- none of them being the store. We dropped the piece off for the FINAL time in December. December. We never received a call. Not once. After multiple attempts to reach the store by phone (which went unanswered or unreturned), we finally had to physically go today (in February) to see if the artwork was complete. And instead of even a simple, "We're so sorry for the inconvenience," we were met with callous, passive-aggressive energy and the most aggressively condescending tone I have ever encountered in a retail setting. No ownership. No apology. No professionalism. Just attitude. Shame on you, Kristen! I have genuinely never dealt with someone so unhelpful and unprofessional in all my years at any store anywhere. It was shocking. We will absolutely never bring another piece here again as long as she is employed. There are too many businesses that value their customers to waste time being treated like an inconvenience for expecting basic competence and courtesy. Save yourself the stress and take your artwork elsewhere.
