SO GOOD. They were busy busy, so I ended up taking mine to go. That 15-minute drive home was basically an exercise in self-control because I could smell it the entire way. But the toast held up beautifully, and that egg?! The yolk was still perfectly runny. Pure bliss. I was intrigued by the drink menu and ultimately got an iced pistachio latte. It was delicious with a very natural pistachio flavor, not sweet fake pistachio, iykyk. I wasn't asked what size I wanted so I assumed there was only 1 but I see in the menu photo there is 2 sizes. I got the smaller of the 2 for $6. I thought I saw they didn't take tips but the payment screen definitely had the tip prompt, and I left one. The space has a simple, clean aesthetic with natural wood and black color scheme. They even have outdoor seating, which doesn't seem like it exists in the mall area of South Portland. It works though because Cobblestone is set back a bit from the main road. Tons of parking, although it seemed like crews were working to fill some of the huge potholes so there were construction type vehicles, cones, etc throughout the parking lot. So nice to have non chain businesses moving into the mall part of South Portland. Will definitely be back to try the food and maybe an ube latte. The breakfast bowl is good. The smoothies take a horribly long time! The ambience is good overall, but they do need to clean or replace their upholstered chairs. Some of them are stained and some sink too much.

Right from the jump, I noticed the vibe at Tandem Roasters was different. The big Tandem on Congress is large, usually always has a line, and has a large selection of food in addition to the coffee. This Tandem is smaller and more chill - the main floor has some seating around the perimeter, with a smaller room off to the side with more seating. In addition to their merch, they have a decent selection of vinyls to browse. The vibe is overall more chill here - I had time to browse and soak in the aesthetics, whereas you're kinda shuffled down the line at the larger Tandem due to the crowds. The menu is mostly coffee and related beverages; they have a small selection of bakes but it's not nearly as large as their other location. I had already had breakfast, so I decided just to go with a cappuccino. The beverage was good - everything you want out of a cappuccino. Service was also good, I was taken care of promptly and my beverage was ready relatively quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally got to check this Tandem out. It's a little off the beaten path of the main commercial hub of Portland, however there are a few businesses in the area so it's worth checking out if you're in the area.
