If you're old school and want a classic good brewed coffee with the standard cream and sugar table this is not the place. But if you like ambiance, cute cafe patio, cute view, cute walk into a cafe/house this is the place with quick iced drinks. The lattes and matcha are probably good my sister said the iced chai was yummy but the plain coffee at the coffee shop was bitter and watery. The lids spill so hot coffee on the hand. There was oatmilk and 1/2&1/2 with a small sugar cup and teaspoon. The cafe by the Ferry at least have variety with sugar in the raw, agave, simple syrup and sugar alternatives alongside more dairy options on a larger table that didn't feel in the way of the pick up counter like Babas where the pick up window also holds creams and sugars etc. near a lot of foot traffic Also only one size for coffee which seems to be a 12-16oz small cup if you like cream in your coffee you'll have to be okay with one cup no refill table and I didn't see on the menu a refill discounted option. The sandwiches sounded delicious but the sandwiches are after 11:30am... only a sausage breakfast sandwich option which tasted amazing!!! So yummy the bread was very good. A couple options for pastries but nothing that stands out. No wild blueberry pastries when I went. I'd say if you're visiting from a city and like the long lines for matcha and a pastry this is a great spot but if you're older want a nice chat and calm space to enjoy a good cup of coffee and cheaper options; unruly girls is your preferred cafe. They have four brewed coffee options self serve about 4$ for unlimited refills

Best coffee in Portland Maine. They make their own blueberry syrup. Blueberry latte with vanilla cold foam. Super sweet hardworking girls. Peaks Island must stop.

Crazy good cappuccino and a great blueberry scone! Super cute place on Peaks Island. Wonderful owners. Such a very nice experience to sip your coffee and watch the bay!

If you are already going to or on Peaks Island, then Babas is a must for breakfast &/or coffee. And I would seriously recommend taking the quick ferry ride out to Peaks just to go to Babas for a delicious breakfast with an amazing view. The breakfast worth going to Peaks for is an interesting and elevated take on an American breakfast staple: a sausage, egg, and cheese baked into a little brioche nest. See picture. Then go to Babas and try for yourself, because there is no way I can do it justice with my words. As an aside, the service and ambiance are also excellent (my husband commented that he could have stayed there all day). We will be back!

Wow! I did not expect to be so quaint and welcoming inside. The food and service were fabulous. The owner Emily is delightful and such a beautiful soul! Her story is amazing and I love that she named the place after her grandmother....The way she restored the building is just on point! We will definitely be back on our visit and if you come this way, you have to come here.

We went to Baba's because we saw a picture with an espresso machine on Yelp. We love visiting the Casco Bay Islands but, as a general rule, they aren't places you go if you want more than just drip coffee. Baba's surprised us, though, by serving us a decent latte. They also serve cookies baked on premises, and breakfast sandwiches. You can find a more "traditional/hearty" breakfast elsewhere on the island, but Baba's provides a unique experience for this location. The staff were also very friendly, and made us feel very welcomed. Would recommend visiting if you like both a relaxing island visit and a nice cup of espresso based coffee.

One of my favorite places in the whole wide world…read more Great beer/wine and liquor selection, and great food. Mike is always happy to help me pick out a bottle of wine which is much appreciated, along with stocking up on a few extra bottles of Havana Club rum when I've asked. But most importantly, their pizza is just so perfect, to me at least. All their toppings are great, but you really can't beat their good ol' cheese/pepperoni pie. It's simple, yet complex, amazing sauce, perfect dough, it's homemade and genuine, at a price that's more than appropriate. I'm always happy when I order a large half pep/half cheese "for the kids" Their take home meals are also excellent, their pot pies are top tier, St. Patrick's Day corned beef dinner is a must, I don't bother making my own anymore. The pesto tortellini is another banger. The pot roast slaps as well. There are a few I'm forgetting but you really can't go wrong. I'm not a big Italian sandwhich guy, but everyone I know loves them, and to my eye, they look wayyyy better than any of the alternatives around town. I'd highly recommend, it's a family owned business that's been here for over half a century. Ps their Ben&Jerry's selection is also...perfect, and I don't think I've ever bought a losing scratch ticket from here either, just winners.

When I moved to Portland 7 years ago, I fell in love with this place. Sadly, it has gone down hill…read morefrom there. I am not sure what has gone on especially in the past 18 months, but after the last four consecutive visits, the food has been just dreadful. Over cooked, under cooked, slimy/greasy, bland, over frozen, dry. So sad. Places like this shine for me and it is so sad when things fall apart. Today I got the Chicken Parmesan prepared meal from their reach in section. It really did look so yummy. I took it home and heated it up on the stove over low heat like I always do to ensure food that is cooked is not over cooked in the re-heating process. Little did I know that the chicken was already over cooked. When I took the first bite of chicken I was not sure what shocked me first: The total blandness of the chicken, the hardness and obviously over frozen-ness of it, or the over cooked of it. Over frozen has a very distinct taste. And this chicken had it. I think it was frozen, thawed too quickly, cooked (over), then re-frozen. This is just not what you do to food that is supposed to be as good as it is supposed to be here. I hope you guys figure things out. The last meal was the lasagna and it was so greasy omg. And it was similar with the spicy sausage pasta a few months ago - just so very grossly greasy I could not eat more than a few forkfuls. And the chocolate cake - i was totally bummed because on the lid you have a label that says "Our delicious moist chocolate cake". It was so dry, i had to toss it after two bites. You guys had a fantastic reputation. I cannot spend my money here anymore, but even more than that, I do not want to risk eating a bad meal.
