I texted my order to Brooks. I ordered the Philly special which includes three meats and one side. I chose brisket, ribs, and chicken. Everything was good as usual. Brussels sprouts was cooked properly. There was too much of some kind of spice. I couldn't figure out what spice it was, but I didn't like it. The coleslaw was nice and creamy had a great taste. Brisket is always my go-to at a BBQ spot. This brisket had a nice peppercorn flavor and a great fat-to-meat ratio. The sides were ok--though I did add a little seasoned salt to the mac and cheese when I got home. The potato salad wasn't bad. I'd definitely return for more brisket. Solid BBQ from Babalouie's truck parked outside Newtown Brewery last Saturday afternoon. It is a regular at Wissahikon Brewery; making only occasional appearances here in Bucks County. Great to see them here now and then. I ordered the St.Louis Rib Platter (beans and mac/cheese sides) and Brisket Sandwich for take home family sharing. Found the ribs to be a large six bone heavy cut, pull off the bone tender with good bark and choice of hot or sweet sauce. Very tasty, but perhaps too soft, without sufficient chew due to being prepared wrapped in plastic to shorten time in the smoker and holding too much moisture in for too long. The sweet sauce was better than the hot to my tongue, and essential to my overall satisfaction of the meal. The Beef Brisket may have been superior to the ribs, with heavier bark, more chew and richer flavor. It was drier than the pork and held the sauce better. The sides were not all that good. The beans were too complicated in ingredients and texture, with less taste than expected. The mac & cheese was similarly somewhat flat and somehow not very cheesy. Word to the wise - Stick with the sandwiches and a la carte meats and skip the sides. read more

Have had the food truck several times and the food never misses! Everything I've tried is excellent (fav being the ribs and mac n cheese). The jalapeño poppers are also excellent - be prepared for a rogue jalapeño from Hell in each batch. Let me start by saying, I lived in the south around some of the best BBQ there is. Nothing compares to this. Every single thing he makes is incredible. I don't even eat Brisket, but I love his. My husband is addicted to everything he offers and his face lights up every time I come home with this BBQ. While the meats are fantastic, don't sleep on the sides. Catered on site for my husband's birthday. Maggie was serving at the food truck for 2.5 hours and was so friendly and served our guests with a big smile. Everyone loved the food truck and the food was DELICIOUS. The dry rub was heavy on flavor for the ribs, chicken, and brisket. Sides were made from scratch and you could taste the difference. Coleslaw wasn't heavy on mayo. So flavorful. Everyone raved about the corn bread. Setting up, contract and payment were so easy. Prices were reasonable. Def will get catering again! We had Babalouie cater my dad's 60th birthday party recently and my family still talks about it!!! Delivery was on time, set up and HOT. We had more than enough food too, so we were able to send everyone home with leftovers! We ordered 3 types of meat and honestly, I couldn't pick a favorite. All of them were perfect. I always walk away from their station kicking myself for not ordering more food because I can never decide what BBQ goodness to consume, and it is just that that good. I wouldn't be able to consume that much food because they are not stingy when it comes to the portions of their platters. The ribs, brisket, and pulled pork are some of the best in the business. You taste all the elements of great BBQ in their dishes. The brisket and ribs contain a picturesque, flavorful bark, and the meat is just so tender and juicy, with a hint of smokiness. The pork is tender, and contains the same great smoked BBQ taste. As for the sides, their macaroni and cheese is made with rotini pasta I believe, contains a perfect amount of cheesy consistency, and a whole lot of "damn these boys know what they are doing. The poppers are not my favorite but stuffed with cheese, and wrapped in bacon is a recipe for a crowd pleaser. No good BBQ is complete without a side of good ole fashion baked beans. The first time I sampled the baked beans, they were really good. The next time around they were decent. A little inconsistency but overall they are good. I came across Babalouie BBQ when they first participated in the Lunch Truck Lineup at the Navy Yard. Since that first encounter, I have made it my mission to make a beeline to their area whenever they are on the base; even if I packed my own lunch.
