Fruit mango whipped cream cake 9" serving 6 or more
    Emily C.

I ordered birthday cake on Saturday evening for pick up on sunday morning. They are close on sunday but open til 10am for pick up only. 9" fruit cake with mango whip cream for serving 6 was $35, and they gave me some bread as complimentary Place is clean and quality of bread is always good Only thing is that i wish they had some example of cakes on websites or something for customers to see and choose from

Came in 30 mins before they were closing and there was still a decent amount of baked goods left. There were a few samples put out for you to try which was great because there was a lot of new breads I've never seen before! We ended up grabbing 3 things to try. Everything we got was delicious. The guy working there was super friendly and nice. There was plenty of seating if you wanted to have your pastry and coffee there. Definitely recommend this bakery if you're in the area.

Service is great, bakery is clean with plenty of seating in the cafe area We got a variety of goodies (about $100 worth) to take to a celebration given the great reviews. We were disappointed though -- some of the breads and buns were stale. The cream puff and the chocolate croissant were a hit but the castella cake, red bean, fresh fruit and crème croissant, almond cake, strawberry cream cake, even the mochi bread were not that good. Really disappointed given the higher price tag per item.

In love with this bakery! I just moved to the area and was so excited to see Sol Levante in my Yelp! search for "Asian bakery". My boyfriend and I love Asian-style breads and cakes, and we tend to crave them several times a month. I've already visited this bakery twice since I moved close by about 2 weeks ago. I had patbingsu (shaved ice) on my first visit and picked up a mango birthday cake on my second visit. Both the shaved ice and cake were sooo delicious, light, and refreshing! The small patbingsu serving is actually hugeee, and it's topped with fruits, condensed milk, and in-house mochi with red bean paste. It's not too sweet or heavy at all, and it's perfect for beating the summer heat or just to please a sweet tooth! As for the mango cake, it's seriously amazing. The cake was decorated with fresh fruits, and even came beautifully boxed and with candles. I opted for a small cake this time since my party of 4 planned to pig out at an AYCE Brazilian BBQ place earlier in the day. The steakhouse also had a dessert buffet, so we didn't think we'd end up craving much cake after. I was wrong--every single person wanted a second slice and I regretted not ordering a size up. When I picked up the cake, I received a few complimentary breads to try. What a warm welcome to the area and bakery! My boyfriend and I tried the breads the next day and each of them was unique in flavor, aromatic, and sooo soft still. I am already thinking about which cake to order next, and can't wait to try all the different types of pastries Sol Levante has to offer. The owners at this bakery are so genuinely kind and friendly, and anyone can easily tell this bakery is a passion business just by stepping foot into it. I'll be back soon, Sol Levante!

I just got off my night shift and I was hungry for some breakfast. Decided to scope out local bakeries on my route home and see what my options were. This bakery is only 7 minutes from Einstein Medical Center and easily accessible from Cheltenham Drive. Once I saw the picture of the decadent croissant filled with whip cream and strawberries I was SOLD. Seeing as the bakery name was not in English I assumed that the bakery was French or European. Upon entry I immediately noticed large tables with rows of atypical shaped pastries with little cards listing the item in English and another description with Asian characters. I assumed Korean since a lot of the breads and pastries listed mung beans but I didn't see any signs listing these were Korean style pastries. I tried to ask the very nice lady ringing me up but she didn't understand my question, and I did want to ask if these were Korean and insult her if they were not. Long story short, Yelp reviews thankfully confirmed these are Korean style pastries! I am all about trying new authentic ethnic foods, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem in a dull, uninspiring strip mall I pass by multiple times a day! The rice balls filled with cream are my favorite item I've tried so far. Like a fried donut filled with a slightly sweet paste. Freaking delicious. The Rice ball with mung bean paste (I assume), was our least favorite item so far. It's probably an acquired taste for mung bean delicacies! Highly encourage everyone in the Cheltenham area to check this place out! The oblong white and brown pastry tasted like coconut angel food cake. We like that one too. Just slightly sweet and as light as a cloud! It would be so good as a summer dessert as a sub for strawberry short bread! The croissant with whip cream and berries was huge and the berries very fresh. The whip cream was the perfect sweetness. It was huge and filling for only being $3!!! The owner also gifted me a plain croissant and little round pastry with raisins and walnuts. Not typically a fan of walnuts and raisins so I probably never would have bought this on my own!!! However it was absolutely amazing!!! Dense and heavy almost like a scone but moister and sweeter! I would definitely purchase this pastry in the future. A perfect pastry to go with a cup of coffee or tea. After I try the other items I purchased I will post pics and update my review. Hoping to make a stop to try their coffee on my way to work one of these days!

I absolutely love this place. I'm so glad they've finally reopened after the place next door fell down making them have to close up shop. They have the most delicious items and never disappoint. If you like Paris Baguette you'll LOVE Sol Levante. They have a few similar treats but overall 3-4x the inventory of bakery items, REASONABLE prices (Paris Baguette is annoyingly overpriced), and it's a local business. Overall I personally love knowing my dollar is going towards a family as opposed to a chain. Especially a business with such super warm hospitality. Every time I've gone I stop for one treat and end up getting at least a few items because of all the variety calling my name. They also always give a free item (or 2 or 3) when you get multiple things. It's truly a great experience and I hope to see more people coming by. Great local bakery I only wish I had more photos ... but usually the items are too good to wait as you can see from the one I've included

Shaved ice is awesome. They use fresh fruit with no added sugar. Portion is big. It is good for at least two people.

Absolutely loved this place from the cozy environment I could definitely see myself coming back and working in, to the rows of delicious baked goods, to the kind service we received! Ordered bingsu (shaved ice) with a friend; it was delicious and unexpectedly came topped with lots of fruit and had some really good mochi perfect with the red bean paste. Definitely coming back!

This Korean bakery is my favorite over Tous Les Jous and Paris Baguet. The pastries taste better and the price is lower.

We went there this morning to pick up a raisin challah - we were making French Toast! The challah is excellent - rich, soft and sweet, it has a tender, delicious taste. The raisins added an extra touch of sweetness to the French Toast. Then there are the numerous pastries and cookies. We decided to get a few Hamentashen (chocolate and poppy), a raspberry croissant, a chocolate and a raspberry rugelach, and the most amazing looking Sticky Bun. I'll start with the Sticky Bun. It was exceptional; a soft, fluffy, and slightly chewy dough - challah like, but denser. It was laced with a sticky, caramelized glaze, studded with raisins and walnuts. It was 'melt in your mouth delicious', and a must try. Next up - the raspberry croissant. This is not your typical croissant - I'm used to the plain, or chocolate - I can't recall having a raspberry croissant before. It's one of the best I've had. It combines a flaky buttery croissant with a sweet, tart raspberry filling. The Hamentashen were good - the chocolate was better than the poppyseed - as the later needed much more Mohn (poppyseed paste). The rugelach was good; the raspberry was too sticky, but the chocolate was fine. If you're near Elkins Park, and you haven't tried Rolings Bakery, it's time you did!

I'm good with leaving the gluten-free whole oats to the on-trend places a few blocks away--Schenk's knows exactly who they are. Sticky buns would 100% be my death-row dessert. I have been to the one located inside the Cheltenham H-Mart and the one in Chinatown, and both are consistent in terms of quality and service. First off, the service is always amazing - everyone is always incredibly polite and helpful, huge kudos to them. Secondly, I love the pastries and cakes. The cakes are never too sweet which is so nice - I love cake but have never loved the really sugary and pasty icing that is so typical of your average birthday cake. Welcome to the world of light and fluffy cream cakes, with fruits and other light flavors. Try one for your next party and everyone will love it, I guarantee it. With your cake comes a cute little plastic cake knife that they'll provide for you and they'll also let you pick out a birthday candle and ask if you want a chocolate Happy Birthday sign. The picture I have is of my lovely umma's birthday cake - she was so in love with it, and she has extremely picky about her desserts, so if my umma loves it anyone will honestly. (I picked a simple fruit cream cake). It's also not huge, which is quite nice - no one loves eating leftover cake three days later. Their tea and coffee is really good, and I've had several of their different tarts and pastries and I have yet to be let down by one. I've also had their matcha and tangerine rolls and U G H I cannot emphasize how good they are!! The interior is perfect for a little dessert date - there's a decent amount of seating and the atmosphere is nice (it's cutely Parisian themed, even though it's a Korean chain. Everyone's wearing berets. Cursed / cute, you decide). The next time you're craving a little sweet treat, please stop in!

I don't believe this ever ever was a true Paris Baguette because their offerings are a lot different than the other two Paris Baguettes in the area. Since they rebranded and remodeled the prices have went up. I see they now offer lattes, smoothies, waffles, sandwiches and other things that weren't there before. Most of the pastries, although decent quality were overpriced to begin with and now even much more so. My favorite was the red bean donut and the walnut tart. I'm sorry but $3 is a bit much for a 2-in donut. I never really liked their buns which were about a dollar more and not as good as the ones you get in Chinatown. The lattes look interesting and I may try one. When I first went after they remodeled and rebranded I asked the price of the sandwiches, which were tiny. I don't remember the price but it was pretty astronomical for the size so I would pass on those. Looking at the menu online there's no prices for anything which is never a good sign. As much as I like to support local businesses I won't be getting much from here anymore in the future.
