I'm from the middle east and I can say truly this restaurant is one of the best middle eastern restaurants that I tried before. The food all made freshly and tasted super good. I've had this booked marked for a while now and finally decided to try them out. After checking out the menu, I decided on the chicken kabob meal with rice, hummus and salad. The food came out after about 10 mins, not a bad wait at all. Service was fast and friendly. Everything was fresh and hot and looked really good. The chicken was good, tender and moist but was a little bland. The hummus was smooth and creamy, but again it was a little bland and so was the garlic spread. I did not care for the salad at all, nothing was wrong with it, just personal taste, didn't care for the spice blend and it was soggy and over dressed. But again that's my personal taste preference. Overall it was good and would try them out again if I was at Haven City, but there's another place down the road that I think I will stick with when I have a craving. read more

We were doing business across the parking lot from this restaurant. It is part of a huge food court in Rancho Cucamonga. Once we spotted the sign that said Mediterranean we were over there in a flash. My son in law is Lebanese and we were introduced to this cuisine and we haven't looked back since. So we have been in every establishment that serves this kind of food in the Inland Empire and may I say, WOW and we know the difference between real shawarma, humus and garlic sauce. We had the chicken shawarma wraps. The food just melted in my mouth and the garlic sauce to die for. I don't live in this town but I will have more business here in months to come and you can be sure this is where we are going for lunch. Thank you and the prices were so reasonable I was in shock! Another work lunch from the Haven City Market. I am actually quite picky with Mediterranean food. For a food court restaurant, this place is pretty good. I get pretty disappointed with Falafel in the U.S but this Falafel wrap was solid. We also got the Beef and Chicken Schwarma wraps. They looked small so I ordered two of each one per person but they are really filling. Most of us, even our big guys didn't get to the second one. We will definitely try it again when we're in the area! read more

If you're not middle eastern then I'm sure you'll like this, if you are middle eastern then you most definitely won't like this. Absolutely no flavor on the chicken even though it looks like it's crazy seasoned. The hummus is way too salty and didn't have good flavor. Waited over 30 mins for the food just to have 2 bites and not want anymore. read more

Just because I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean food, I wanted to give this place a try. I ordered the chicken kabob plate and I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken was well flavored and juicy. Most importantly, the portions were bigger than I was expecting, which was a huge plus. The people at the counter were very welcoming, so I'm definitely coming back here next time at Haven City Market. read more

It's my second time here, food was great, no question about it, filet mignon cooked medium rare to perfection. The only difference is this time my to go order had a tip option which I didnt have to do before? Tips for to-go orders is crazy, i'm already paying for the goods, no service was rendered yet the tip option was waved in my face. USA tipping culture is getting crazy read more

This place will be putting Rancho on the map. If you're hungry and want to eat food with FLAVOR. Then this place is for you! We had the beef & chicken shawarma plate. Each comes with a choice of fries or rice and a slab of the World Famous Hummus. Ok I know I'm super excited about this place but seriously you can go wrong on the food. Yes it's the first week they opened so there system and processes will be tweaked until the dust settles. But like any new establishment it takes time. The bottom line how was the food and service? 5 stars for both! As busy as it was they still greeted us and thanked us for coming and that goes along Amway. The food court it's located in is soo cute , there's a ping pong table and a lot of seating ! The service was relatively quick , other friends waited longer in the other restaurants. The staff was very nice ! The plates include pita , choice of meat , hummus , salad , and rice or fries . I asked if I could do half rice half fries and they let me ! Today was madness. The grand opening of Haven City Market... The food was REALLY GOOD. We did the combo platter for 2, and it was a lot of food. Very tasty. It was lamb, beef, chicken skewers, hummus and pita, salad, and rice. It was served in a catering tray. Definitely a great deal at 26 bucks. We did end up waiting for about a half hour for our food... But today was just super busy. We cannot blame them - they were working their butts off, people were not super forgiving, people went missing after placing orders, etc. Will absolutely be back to HCM and will certainly get this delicious food again in the future. read more

So what's cool about this place is it serves as the perfect ice breaker for any food eater unsure about Mediterranean food, about falafel, and about spice outside the usual Mexican fast food type. The family who owns the place is very sweet and remembers my family and I when we come back. And we frequent it. My mom and dad usually split the plentiful filet mignon kabobs with veggies platter and usually still have enough greek salad and hummus for me to steal. I LOVED the wrapped beef shawarma! ** WARNING ** if you wanna TRY the unwrapped beef or chicken shawarma, you need to arrive around 5-5:30 pm and toward the end of the week and weekends as close to 5 pm as possible. Food is good, service is decent...sometimes. If you have your heart set on chicken shawarma or beef shawarma, you're pretty much out of luck . They're pretty much always out of both because they won't make enough to last even close to closing time. They'll tell you to your face that if you want shawarma to come before 5 (NOTE: CLOSING IS 9 PM!!!) So they know they'll run out but won't adjust their prep to last at least till close to closing? So odd. So if you work or are busy in any kind of way, or you just want shawarma for dinner...don't bother fighting the crowds to come here. read more

I've come here about three times and always get the chicken kabob plate. Food is made to order so expect a small wait :). Combo comes with hummus, salad, rice, and pita bread. Chicken has always been soft and juice! Definitely worth the wait, they give you a pager so you can always check out other stands while you wait! read more

Established in 1985.

Baba K is a family owned Mediterranean restaurant. Baba means father in Arabic, and the "K" stands for Khaled, the primary owner and executive chef at Baba K. Baba K spelled backwards is coincidently "Kabab" which is the most popular Mediterranean dish worldwide. Khaled's journey started in his beautiful home of Amman, Jordan, a small, peaceful country in the Middle East rich in culture, flavor and spices. It was there that he found his talent and passion for cooking. Khaled soon created secret recipes for delicate dishes to start a family legacy. Today, Khaled passes on the recipes to his son, Yacoub, who joins him in this new journey. Khaled previously owned two restaurants in Jordan that were sold after the passing of his father. Soon after, he decided to move to the U.S. with Yacoub to embark on a new endeavor where he's now able to relive the magical flavors of his home country, together with his son.

The visit didn't stand out too much, but it's a nice place for some easy to share food with friends if you're hanging out.

I have been coming here for several months now and it seems like I go more and more often. The food is very savory and delicious. I usually get a plate with rice, hummus, salad and two skewers. The chicken as well as the steak are packed with flavor and the meat is always juicy. I've introduced this place to my coworkers and we eat Baba K 2-4 times a weeks now, it has become a minor addiction. The flavors are consistent and I always feel extremely satisfied when I finish eating. The portions are generous so if you have small eating habits then i'd recommend a plate with one skewer. This is a family owned business from what I can see, and it appears that English is not their first language. I would recommend being very clear with your order and be nice to the staff they do their best despite their language barrier. I do not have a personal relationship with the owners or staff, I just happen to go here a lot and finally decided to write a review! Definitely recommend this place! read more

I've just tried Baba K for the first time today, and i gotta say i've read a couple reviews that did not really bring up the place but gave it a shot of my own. The food is absolutely amazing, i've had the chicken shawarma (Baba K way) they wrap it in a different type of bread and toast it, also i've had the filet mingon skewer and asked for well done, the food came out perfect and the filet mignon was very juice. Brought back some taste of home! The humus was delicious and very close to how it tastes back home. I most certainly recommend this place and will definitely be back soon to try out the rest of the menu. They have some really exciting dishes to check out! The crew was very outgoing and friendly and made sure i had all the utensils i needed. Good job everyone, best meal i've had at HCM so far. Will be back for sure! read more

This restaurant reminded me of the food I had when I was in the Middle East. It is apparent that the owner takes great pride in his restaurant. The menus is very detailed and the food is FRESH EVERY TIME! I came here the first week and have been here every week since. I don't mind making this a weekly occurrence for good, fresh and authentic food. One could appreciate the food that is made to order. I order the falafel plate, chick and beef shawarma. It turns out perfectly EVERY TIME! I cannot wait to see the ultimate success of this business. You can tell that the owner cares about his customers! The hummus was creamy, the grilled meats were juicy and full of flavor, and the sides like tabbouleh and rice were all on point. You can tell the kitchen knows what they're doing when it comes to authentic taste. The only downside is the wait. The food definitely takes a while to come out, even when it's not super busy. Food was boring, seems as never cooked taste as bland, the staff has a big head on their shoulders but nothing to show for it, owner keeps saying it's family business!!!!!!!!! I have been dining at this restaurant since the Haven Food court opened. I enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the owners and employees. It is a family that prepare the food to your family, like mom and pop place. I also enjoys catering for business events and holiday gathering for our staff. I came yesterday with a friend and ordered the combo for two as you can tell from the picture the portions are very generous and the kabobs are phenomenal. Several friends recommended we try this restaurant and I'm glad we did! Delicious food and with great service! We ordered a side of Falafel, a beef shawarma platter and a chicken shawarma platter.
