    Dips...
    Marcus F.

Found these guys at the weekly Escondido Farmers Market (Tuesdays 2:30 to 6PM). A wide variety of dips, garlic spreads, and hummus. Love the hummus but their dips can be oily. I tend to choose the spicy flavors but the kids don't like those. They also sell flatbread but I would grab it from elsewhere. Not worth the price here, about double what Sprouts sells it for. - Made in San Diego - They do accept credit cards at this location - Always a mix-and-match deal, but at 3X12 it's pricey. Better deal at Costco.

    Magic I tell you.

Amazing dips and kefir but there is clearly a lot of added sugar which I strongly believe needs to be disclosed for diabetics.

Best Kefir I have tried, tastes amazing. They also have good hummus, and my favorite is the classic and three layer dip.

Food: We ended up going during their Happy Hour (3-6pm M-F) and got a dozen $1 oysters, in addition to their Happy Hour ceviche, a bowl of clam chowder, and the new Slab salad. All items came out fresh and delicious, with the clam chowder taking the cake. Each spoonful had multiple pieces of clam, with rich creamy notes throughout. Pro tip- try their bottled salsa which is brewed without vinegar by a local company. It's honestly so addicting and we ended up buying two bottles to take home. Service: Mikey, our waiter, made us feel right and home and we never felt rushed or judged for having asked so many questions. He even surprised us with a birthday dessert with our name printed into the top! He honestly made our visit so memorable and we can't wait to return. Ambiance: Spacious, indoor and outdoor seating both with different benefits. Honestly, there is not a bad seat here as indoor has very wooden, regal feeling whereas outdoors has your chill San Diego vibe with lots of dog watching.

The clam chowder portions are much smaller now, and they removed the octopus from the happy hour menu. Overall, the food quality has gone downhill and it feels like they are cutting corners to save money. As locals, we used to come here all the time, but unfortunately I can't recommend it anymore. The ambience of this place was great, although maybe next time we'll sit in their outside/garden/patio area. The inside was just as nice, felt like we were in Paris as this is a French inspired/themed restaurant. Our waiter Kyle was really nice. He seemed a little busy though which helped in his lack of attention, but overall he was cool. Did a great a job answering our questions. We opted for a lot of different choices. The list is in no particular order but will highlight which was a table fave. - Parker Loaf [$12] need this to be a tad bit bigger to justify the price. Really good loaf of bread to start with though esp the rosemary butter. 4/5 - Fresh Oysters, 6 ct [$21] Really good oysters, super fresh, very "fat" & "meaty" 5/5 - Granita Oysters 6ctx2 [$25] Same oysters as above, BUT filled w/a yuzu/lemon concoction along w/pear pearls, TABLE FAVE for sure 5/5 (started with a 6 count before our mains & HAD to get another 6 after) - Mussels [$27] Very fresh and well seasons mussels, although the sauce was a bit odd tasting. It was white wine mixed with something they called "a cousin of absinthe" 4/5 - Wagyu tartare [$31] YUM! TABLE FAVE, wish it came with more bread though, that bone marrow was chef's kiss along with the sauce they paired the dish with 5/5 For the mains, two did the Top Sirloin [$48 each] which was described as 'melt in your mouth goodness' which came w/a square shaped potato & a piece of biggish mushroom. The two others did the Short Rib [$42 each] which was described as 'the demi-glaze makes' & 'it's fall off the bone.' I had the Poisson which was the fresh catch of the day (salmon) [$38] & it was really good! Came with bokchoy which was drenched in a maple sauce. That contradicted the lemony/citrusy sauce the salmon came in. There were greens on top of the salmon to complete the meal. Solid dish! I'd skip the deconstructed creme brulee [$15] as that was nobody's favorite. It left us leaving a "real" creme brulee... Do get the opera cake [$15] tho, that one was a TABLE FAVE! Do note that dinners here take a while as the chefs create masterpieces. Our dinner for 5 turned into a 3-4 hour affair, which was fine. Good times!

Wormwood is nestled in an old house courtyard that is absolutely brimming with charm and character, the environment is truly fantastic and sets a lovely mood. The service was excellent throughout the night, and for the most part, the kitchen delivered on some amazing flavors. We shared several dishes: * Steamed Mussels & Scallops: Perfectly prepared. * Pasta & Wagyu Beef: Rich, delicious, and beautifully plated. * Burrata Salad: While the flavors were good, this was our only disappointment. The greens didn't seem fresh and had some wilted/rotten leaves, appearing as though it might have been sitting out too long before reaching the table. A quick tip on logistics: Like many popular spots in San Diego, parking was a bit of a challenge, so definitely give yourself some extra time to find a space in the neighborhood. For this restaurant, the stunning atmosphere and the quality of the main courses made for a memorable meal. We'd certainly come back for the vibes and those scallops!

I was really impressed that u had a place to set my feet on because I'm very short and normally have a hard time with regular bar seats. There are a lot of cute touches like that. Hooks to hold your purse, etc. I was loving the soulful music which I thought was from a playlist so I used Shazam in order to capture the song. However, the music started to sound live so I walked around...only to find it was coming from a very talented woman named Marianne across the bar. Service was friendly, but we both noticed other tables were a bit ignored or slow to be served. We ordered a few margaritas. Cesar salad with chicken and the lobster arrabbiata with table-side Parmesan. The food was great. I'm not a big focaccia lover but there's was the best I've ever had. It was warm, light, airy, fluffy, and came with this amazing butter AND olive oil, balsamic rosemary. We used the bread to dip into the leftover pasta sauce. We ordered margaritas. I would definitely recommend the blood orange drink they have on the menu. Shout out to Morgan, who was an amazing server and Marianne whose live music changed my whole mood. The questions were very fun and a nice way to pass the time. Once we were ready we took the elevator upstairs to the rooftop for the restaurant is located. It's not a huge space, but very nice. We sat in the corner near the ledge so we had a great view of the area. The server came over and was very nice and went over the menu with us. It's not a huge menu, so unfortunately it is a bit Limited. They do make sure at reservation to ask about dietary issues or allergies, and they review that again at the table to make sure nothing you order interferes with that. We decided to order the bread and the steak frites. The bread was delicious and you definitely want to eat it all. The steak was good and not chewy. It wasn't the best I have had but it was still good and the flavor was nice, nothing too overpowering. The french fries were good as well and made fresh. We also ordered drinks, I went with the Sadie Hawkins which I definitely recommend if you like an old fashioned. It had cherry, and cola reduction, and was a very good take on the drink. Prices were a little expensive but definitely not the most expensive in the area. The Vibes are nice and coming for a sunset dinner like we did is a good idea for a special occasion. PERIOD…read more Just pulled up to Pushkin Bar & Hookah Lounge in Gaslamp Downtown San Diego... and let me tell you -- this place hit me straight in the nostalgia and the luxury receptors at the same time. I first visited this spot 12+ years ago when I was living in the San Diego area. Back then it was basically the holy temple of traditional Russian & Ukrainian cuisine -- the one and only in downtown SD. Very authentic, very -approved. That cute fancy borsch was literally to die for. And yes... you happily paid big $$$ because authentic Russian grandma cuisine is not supposed to be cheap -- it's a cultural investment Fast forward to today -- I walk in and BOOM They transformed the whole concept into a super chill house hookah lounge + fancy executive bar vibe... yet somehow still managed to keep those legendary Russian gem dishes on the menu. That's what I call strategic evolution. And wait -- plot twist -- they added a full-scale sushi menu. From pelmeni to premium rolls... this place is now basically a geopolitical peace treaty on a plate. If you're Russian from the hood -- you simply MUST pull up. Order the $30 pelmeni dumplings (mandatory ritual). Top them with black caviar if you're feeling oligarch-level fancy -- I mean why not, live once What they've done here is honestly genius: They took old-school grandma recipes... put them in a luxury outfit... added hookah lounge energy... sprinkled executive bar aesthetics... and created a serious relaxation & dining destination. Perfect spot to unwind, talk business, vibe out, or just pretend you're important -- works every time. Huge respect and special thanks to Julia -- the host & bar boss. Top-tier service, warm energy, yet still operating in full professional boss mode. Love to see it. Also respect to the main boss himself -- and yes, go check his stand-up comedy next door. Let's be honest... he might actually be the only funny performer in the whole joint But hey -- quality over quantity. If you've never been -- you absolutely must go. Authenticity + reinvention + vibes = rare combo Amen

The cocktails were strong and tasty. The only downside was that water is expensive. Even as the restaurant undergoes ongoing renovations to fully realize William Bradley's vision, the space already feels intimate and thoughtfully designed. Tables were generously spaced, creating a private, almost exclusive atmosphere that made the evening feel uniquely ours. Shortly after being seated, we were greeted by the sommelier with a champagne offering--an easy "yes" that set the tone for the night. We opted for the luxury wine pairing along with indulgent add-ons including truffle, caviar, and wagyu. What followed was a beautifully choreographed 2.5-hour dining experience, where each course arrived with precision and grace. The service felt like a seamless dance, with dishes presented one after another, each more artful than the last. Portioning was more than generous--so much so that I happily passed a few courses to my husband as I began to run out of room. The sommelier interactions were a highlight, with each wine thoughtfully introduced and perfectly paired. A particularly lovely touch was that every pour was served in fresh, high-quality stemware, allowing each wine to shine on its own. One moment that truly stood out was when a server took the extra time to inquire with the kitchen about how their sourdough loaf was prepared. The bread itself was baked to absolute perfection--crisp on the outside, soft and airy within--and the fact that the staff went out of their way to provide thoughtful detail about its preparation spoke volumes about their dedication and attentiveness. The caviar additions were especially creative and memorable, presented in ways we had never experienced before. After the meal, we were invited into the kitchen for a brief behind-the-scenes look. Watching the team work in near silence, with such precision and calm, felt like witnessing a finely tuned performance--intimate, focused, and deeply impressive. As the evening came to a close, we were graciously escorted out, presented with a thoughtful parting gift, and warmly thanked by the staff. It was the perfect ending to an extraordinary night. While the portion sizes in a ten‑course tasting menu can look small at first glance, don't be fooled. With the wine pairing, it was a tremendous amount of food, and every single dish was extraordinary. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. We had such a great time chatting with both the sommelier and our main server. It's always fun learning how people find their way into the fine‑dining world, and the team here made those conversations feel natural and genuine. We never felt rushed, and every question we had about the dishes was answered with enthusiasm and depth. Truly flawless hospitality. The venue is apparently about to undergo remodeling, but you'd never know it. The dining room was elegant, serene, and thoughtfully arranged--tables spaced far enough apart to give each party a sense of privacy without feeling isolated. We always love opting for wine pairings with tasting menus, and Addison offers three tiers: Economy, Luxury, and Legendary. We chose the Luxury pairing and were not disappointed. Wine pairing is an art form, and these selections brought out nuances in the dishes that we wouldn't have experienced otherwise. At the end of the evening, we were offered a tour of the kitchen--thankfully much calmer than the chaos depicted in The Bear. We also received a printed copy of the menu and wine pairings, along with two jars of the toasted granola used as the base layer for the chicken liver churro dish. Such a thoughtful touch and a great way to ensure nothing goes to waste. One note for anyone arriving by rideshare: the restaurant is located inside a gated community and is co‑located with the Fairmont Grand Del Mar Country Club, not the Fairmont Grand Del Mar Hotel. Drivers may have trouble finding it, so plan accordingly. Overall, Addison exceeded every expectation. A world‑class dining experience in every sense.

They asked ahead of time what we were celebrating and truly honored that throughout the night in a way that made the evening feel even more special. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. Easily one of the best dining experiences we've had. Highly recommend.

The ambiance inside was very nice and really set the mood from the night but the environment was loud so something to keep in mind. Once seated we were helped and our sever was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu! The food was very good overall. We ordered New York strips, the ceaser (on this night it wasn't table side but it typically is), broccolini, dirty hasbrowns and truffle fries! The steak was prepared perfectly and I really enjoyed the side of sauces we were able to try table side (peppercorn, horseradish, bernaise, Bordeaux) I really enjoyed the broccolini and hash rows and thought they complimented the meal perfectly! At the end of our meal I requested a Polaroid photo I had seen taken earlier in the night with another party since we were also celebrating something special and our server graciously called them over, turns out it was the manager that night and he was lovely! Very kind and helpful and the photo was the perfect touch to end our evening!!

They were doing the Tuesday night date special, which includes one appetizer & entree each and a dessert & bottle of wine to share for $55/pp as of March 2026. I'm not familiar with the names of French dishes, so I'll write descriptions of the food instead. Appetizers: * mushroom ravioli * phyllo filled with cheese & salad Entrees: * braised short rib * stuffed chicken Dessert: * Cookie My favorite thing was actually the phyllo filled with cheese! It was really unique, and a good combination of savory/sweet, and the salad was a refreshing addition. I would honestly consider ordering a full portion of this to have as a meal. My husband loved his braised short ribs. It was so tender. The ambiance is lovely-- I dressed up a bit more than I normally would, and I didn't feel particularly overdressed or anything, but other people showed up in casual clothing too. Every detail of dinner was well thought out and service was amazing. We didn't feel rushed at all, so we were able to enjoy a slow-paced anniversary dinner. We would definitely come back to try their normal menu too!

It was also my husband's birthday so I really wanted it to be special! We got seated as soon as we arrived in a booth! We immediately were greeted by Nancy who by the way was amazing at that time! The food were amazing and delicious we started with Soup à l'oignon which was great then the raviolis aux champignons which was also amazing but we wished that it would be much more warmer... We then followed by steak frites aux poivre, we asked it medium rare not cut and sauce on the side and it was perfect it comes with brocolis and green beans in the side with french fries and ask for ketchup and aïoli which was yummy as well! We wanted to make it a french dinner so we also ordered a chessboard after the main course! We were so glad that we ordered one entrée as we could have not made it to the dessert if we were to do the cheeseboard and dessert as well! After the cheeseboard we ordered the profiteroles for dessert and a Cappuccino! The dinner birthday was a success I do recommend it for people that are looking for an authentic french restaurant! Cons were the ambiance it was a little bit loud and also they weren't giving any complimentary birthday dessert also, the bread at the beginning were delicious but if you want a refill they will charge you for it. We brought a bottle of red wine which was free corkage since we also ordered a bottle of white from their menu. But the corkage fee would be $45! Overall we had a wonderful time! And I highly recommend it for the food!

When I asked the bartender if that was the full menu, since it seemed odd there wasn't even a charcuterie option, his response was, "which restaurant has two menus?" Not the best start. Shortly after, when we mentioned we wanted to order a bottle, we were then handed a much more extensive wine list...which also included another small bites menu. That alone was confusing and felt inconsistent. We ordered a rosado from Spain, which we did enjoy, but overall the experience didn't match what you'd expect from a wine bar. The bottle wasn't chilled, and we noticed others in the restaurant had the same issue. Service was also lacking. The bartender never checked back on us, despite us sitting right at the bar. Overall, not the experience we were expecting. I'd recommend saving your money and going elsewhere.
