Trustworthy, professional and friendly service. BA changed all the locks and door knobs after I moved into my new home in Orinda. Came back for minor adjustments and alignments of the doors. One stop shop. Glad to have them on my contact list. read more

Ben came out and made my ancient lock work like new! He clearly has a ton of experience and I would happily use him again in the future!

All the reviews are correct. Ben came out the same day I called and fixed our deadbolt within a few minutes. He called when he thought he would be late which I appreciated. He was great and gave some good advice. Thanks Ben! read more

Called BA Locksmith due to the good ratings here on Yelp. It really paid off for us. When I initally called him to set up an appointment Ben was very willling to answer all my questions regarding a couple of existing door handles. Ben came to our home and quickly re-keyed our two locks. He knew what he was doing, was extremely polite and professional and a pleasure to talk to. Ben is very well-read and somebody you would love to have as a neighbor, brother, son, friend.....well, you get it!! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BA Locksmith to anyone and will absolutely call him the next time we need a locksmith. read more

Great professional service! And Ben is such a nice and knowledgeable guy. My lock broke down last night and I've called him and described the situation including the approx. age of the lock and the neighborhood I live in. And he brought correct spare parts! And the parts are hard to find - I've tried before. In 20 minutes my door was opening and closing again. Thank you very much, Ben! If I need a locksmith in the future - I know the guy now! read more

I needed a locksmith to help me in switching out all the locks of a family member's house after a move. Ben was able to come on a Saturday and he was efficient and very friendly. He also dealt with some unforeseen issues with the doors. One had a fake deadbolt, he made it functional. One door had a "too large" gap between the door and door jamb, he put in two plates to "thicken" the area for a more secure lock. He's excellent and I'd call him again for any other work I'd need done in this area. read more

BA Locksmith is the ONLY one to call! He was able to figure out what was wrong with our front door lock in about 30 seconds! He is a true professional with 20 years experience! I am recommending him to everyone I know! What a great guy! I called BA Locksmith after a very bad experience with another local locksmith. I strongly recommend every woman put BA Locksmith's number in your cell phone! That way you won't have to go through what I did one night when I was locked out of my house and didn't have a clue to call! I simply wasn't prepared!!! Live and learn....call BA Locksmith, put it in your phone NOW! read more

Experienced, and very polite. Ben was awesome and took care of our re-keying needs. I would highly recommend him. My wife and I are retired and really appreciate honesty and integrity. Ben exhibits those personal traits. read more

Ben is super friendly knowledgeable and professional. He went out of his way to help us with a broken sliding door we found when he was rekeying our locks. We have a locksmith for life now! read more

Quick response and able to give reasonable recommendations rather than trying to upsell or do things we did not need. I also like that he had everything in his truck so he could do the work right away. I will call again if ever in the need for a locksmith. read more

BA Locksmith was great. Ben was on time, respectful and courteous. He did quality work in a timely fashion.

I never thought it would be possible to have strong feelings of affection for a lock, but after Ben helped me get several doors and locks in good working order at my newly-purchased home, I am flooded with gratitude every time I turn each knob. Ben is an absolute professional, truly cares about doing the job well, and I felt like he treated my safety as he would a member of his own family. Reliable, personable, and competent? Hard to find these days. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend! read more

If we could give Ben more than 5 stars, we would. Our 20 year old Weslock lock on the front door had failed and could not be fixed. When Ben saw the lock and the door, he 1. recommended that we do not replace the Weslock part that failed with a similar Weslock part because Weslock is now made in China and fail very fast 2. told us that the holes made for the Weslock lock do not line up with any of the current locks. 3. said that he would do his best to make the transition to a new lock transparent. And he did! He found the closest match Schlage locks and aligned them to the existing holes on the door so that it is barely apparent that the locks were changed and that the new locks were drastically different from the old ones. Previously, Ben had re-keyed some other locks for us, and very kindly adjusted to our schedule and worked on a Saturday. Prices are fair. BA Locksmith is a local Castro Valley small business and we were not only happy to give him our business, but also extremely pleased with the work he did for us. We highly recommend him. read more

Fantastic service! We just moved into our home and wanted to have the locks changed, and they came the same day, changed all of our locks, and made all the copies of keys we needed. Quick and efficient service!! Definitely recommend read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I loved the service I got from BA Locksmith so I decided I should share my experience. We had lost all the keys to our mailbox so our only option was to get the lock changed. I found BA Locksmith through Yelp and decided to give them a call. Ben, who is the owner of the business, answered the call and was extremely professional and very easy to talk to. The quote he gave me the phone was accurate, no surprises. He was able to squeeze me into his schedule the same day since I had the day off and it would be difficult for me to have him come by any other day. It helped that he had a photo of his van posted on the site and the video also put me at ease. I know there are a lot of corrupt locksmiths out there so I was fortunate to have chosen someone with years of experience, trustworthy and has great customer service. read more

I needed someone to get into my Mom's house in an emergency, and Ben dropped everything and was there as soon as he could be. Made some spare keys as well so this does not happen again. He was responsive, helpful, professional and caring. Thanks fellow Yelper's for helping me find a great locksmith in a stressful situation! And thank you Ben for assisting in making sure that Mom was fine. Very high recommendations for this service. read more

I would highly recommend BA Locksmith. Ben was very professional and friendly. He responded to our lockout situation w/in 30 minutes and had us back in the house in about 15 seconds! I'll be calling him for any other locksmith services in the future. read more

Very professional, knowledgeable and expedient locksmith. I was speaking with a customer service associate at Home Depot regarding a door latch that was slightly shy of the length it needed to be, and too long if extended. I was asking if there were alternative sizes, and if not, if he could recommend a solution. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to offer any additional knowledge outside of what I had already known. Ben happened to overhear the conversation and offered a couple of options to try. In addition, he gave me his number and said if the options didn't work or if I had any questions, to give him a call and he would be happy to help. Needless to say, the following morning, bright and early, I reached out to Ben and asked for his expertise. He was at my home within 2 hours of my call. Not only did he install the original locking door knob I was having challenges with, but he also replaced my front door dead bolt, door fixture, and made a 3rd key for the entry door on the spot! I have several doors that still need upgrading and I will definitely seek his services again. If your looking for the real deal, I highly recommend BA Locksmith. read more

I have used BA Locksmith several times and have been very pleased with the service provided. Extremely quick service and Ben was incredibly nice. My key to the house broke inside the front door lock and Ben was quick to respond and arrived at my house well ahead of schedule. He was able to remove the key swiftly and promptly made a new key for me to use immediately. He also noted the problems with the lock itself and told me how to avoid problems in the future. If I ever have problems in the future BA Locksmith will be the first place I call. The business card doesn't lie when it says Fast. Friendly Service! read more

I am very happy with Ben and his work. I highly recommend BA Locksmith. My story: We have a front door lock that is over 20 years old. My daughter was accidently locked out and my son contacted a "locksmith" through the yellow pages. They came and drilled out the lock - but did not fix or repair it - and they charged an exorbitant amount for 5 minutes work. That's why it's good to use Yelp instead of the yellow pages! I spent a lot of time trying to find a replacement lock that would fit. Schlage itself couldn't help. But, Ben immediately recognized the kind of lock - and knew what it would take to fix it. He arrived on time, replaced the cylinder and keyed it to match our deadbolt. And Ben was able to fashion a critical missing part from what he had in his truck. It's all working fine - and for less than the cost of the "locksmith" that just drilled out the lock. I'll definitely contact Ben again if I need help with a lock. read more

Super nice, BUT....Turns out my lock was EXTREMELY cheaper than I was charged by BA and labor was 200 for 30 minutes of work? Not happy with the pricing and the work was OK. The cost of supporting local busineses. read more

Ben came over to help us repair the knob. Just from the style and the brand name, he knew what's the problems might be with our door lock. Ben efficiently repaired our knob with a reasonable price. In the meantime, he answered our questions regarding door safety alternatives (key bumping, door bar etc). He help us checked the length of the screws drove into the wall from the plate, and found that its just the standard installation screws (which only get into the stud about 1/4 inch, not secure enough to hold any forced entrance). He replaced it with 3 inches screws to increase the security of the deadbolt. He has done a job above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend his services. read more

When my lock (deadbolt) stopped working on my apartment and I got locked out of my house with two young kids in tow, I was stressed out, to put it lightly. My landlord called up Ben and let him know I had an emergency. Ben came as quickly as he could after he finished another job. He checked out the lock and found that it needed to be replaced, so he drilled it out and replaced it with a new lock that he had rekeyed to match my key. He had everything he needed to do that with him. The drilling made a mess and he asked for a broom to clean it up. Now that might not be a big deal to you, but I had a handyman do work on my place and leave all the mess behind for me to clean up! So I was really grateful that he did it. I also mentioned another issue to him with the security gate that my landlord had failed to mention and he fixed that right up for me too so now I can use my gate again! Ben was very friendly and I didn't feel uncomfortable having him in my home even though I was by myself with my two daughters. Would absolutely recommend him! read more

This is a late post from probably about 2 weeks ago. I can home from an A's game at about 11:30 pm and my front door wouldn't open.. I couldn't figure out what was going on, the key would go inside but not turn.. After trying for 10 minutes I went to yelp and see who had that best reviews and ran across BA locksmith. I called him and being late he didn't answer but called me back within 3 minutes. He was honest and told me that if he came out then I would be charged an extra $100 and that he might need to use a hammer and drill but if I waited until the morning it would be cheaper. So he came out the following morning at 0900 and was on time. Ben was able to fix my door, it ended being the cylinder. He replaced it and was in and out within an hour. The only complaint I had was something that I noticed after he left.. While he was here he broke my key trying to open the door which isn't a big deal so he made me 2 copies but then he charged me $5 for making the keys.. Like I said I didn't notice until I looked at the bill after he left.. I just felt like I shouldn't have been charged, maybe I'm just being petty.. Besides that Ben was professional, prompt and I would use him again and recommend him to anybody who needed a locksmith.. read more
