I used to come here often. Then I stopped coming about 10 yrs ago because the waitress took care of everyone around me and my friend, we sat there for 15-20 minutes then asked if we could please order. It was weird and didn't feel good. Then it happened again a few weeks ago. I walk in and say "just one", she looks over me to a couple and asked them what they needed, she sat them and I'm still standing there. I get seated and 3 other parties came in, quickly seated, given menus and drinks and no one said anything to me. I really thought maybe I was being too sensitive. I've loved this place for years. Their food is always amazing and fresh. I've been told by friends who are Korean and who have lived in Korea that it is super authentic. I give it four stars out of 5 on one thing only, the service is kind of hit or miss. I've had visits where the server was on point and days where I wanted to up and leave. That said, it's a cute family run place with delicious food... I'll always come back when I'm in town. First time at B Won! I thoroughly enjoyed the Wednesday special which was a dolsot bibimap which was DELICIOUS! the presentation was great also and I loved the extras given on the side - bean sprouts, kimchi, potatoes and egg. My only complaint is that the lunch special was a little pricey at $14.11 (including tax). I would definitely return to try their other bibimap dishes. read more

This is a full and honest review as I've come to this restaurant about 3 times now. I'd hate to write this review but it was so traumatizing and embarrassing that I feel like customers should be aware. The first time discovering this place, the food was delicious and amazing! Felt authentic and was a family owned restaurant that's cozy and welcoming. The second time was a bit strange. Food was just as delicious as I remembered but the side dishes wasn't as appetizing as before and the service was trending down. Our server was a younger lady and I guess on her break. She stopped midway from her lunch to serve us our meals as they were ready. She didn't wash her hands at all and was still chewing as she was placing the dishes we ordered on the table. &&& she never brought utensils so I had to go and grab them from another table. Today, we decided to give it one more try since the food is just too good! BIG MISTAKE. My parents and siblings (5 of us) decided to dine in on a Saturday for a late lunch. There were two couples who were already dining so the restaurant wasn't very busy. Seems as though there was only an older lady working the front and one cook in the back. I hate to put this in here but I'm Asian and sometimes I feel like when we dine at other Asian places, we don't get the same service as others non-Asians sometimes!! We were put in the back and didn't get the same attention as the others throughout our dining experience. After taking our orders our server disappeared. We had no water nor side dishes. We saw her going around cleaning a table. So we're like "ok no worries, we'll wait" right? Kimchi pancakes were ready and brought to our table and she was quickly trying to leave, only for us to ask for water again while she was two steps away. She innocently looked like she forgot and proceeded to give us water and the rest of the dishes. GUESS WHAT? She forgot my dish I ordered!! I ordered pork bulgogi along with the spicy tofu soup and she only gave me the soup... so I went to the cashier area (where she was) and asked if the pork bulgogi was on the way and she said "huh?" But she put the order in by yelling from the outside to the cook inside.... Finally got my food. Like I said, THE FOOD IS BOMB.COM!! Best Korean food I've had in Oklahoma. BUT the service is just soooooooooo crap. Remember how I said sometimes Asians at some Asian restaurants don't be getting the same treatment? Why did she check on the couples and never asked us once how our meal was.! She didn't refill our waters or check on us after the food was dropped off. ANYWAYS, my mom paid for the meal as they had to leave first. The lady was on her lunch eating at one of the tables. My mom waited for her and continued to pay for our meals and was so fed up from the service. So, she didn't tip the 15% and let me tell you, the lady was BIG MAD. Demanding my mom an answer as to why her tip was so little and my mom tells her the service we received was horrible, had no water for 20 minutes of sitting, didn't get acknowledged the whole time besides dropping our food off. My siblings and I were getting ready to leave after the scene and as we were walking to the door, she was demanding more tip from my brother who's 15 years old... yelling in the restaurant upset. As a former server myself, I consider myself a great tipper! If we had received better service, I would've put my own money as a tip! We didn't even get decent service here. Dropping off our meals and only getting us water after we had requested and waited twice, doesn't sound like 15% was deserved... legally tipping isn't even required. We ate our meals and paid for our meals. I MEAN LIKE MY MOM DID LEAVE A TIP AND SHE STILL MAD??? It was honestly just very disappointing and embarrassing for both us and them. My mom introduced me to this place while I was a teenager, I was skeptical because I haven't tried any different foods besides american at the time. Currently in my twenties and even living out of state everytime I come to Oklahoma no matter if it's an hour or over travel I will continue coming back. The ladies are amazing and welcoming, but the spicy seafood noodle soup #46 is my favorite meal and nobody makes it as good as they do. My mom highly recommends beef bulgogi. The waitress was nice and attentive. I ordered the kimbap, spicy crab and tofu soup, and pork belly. The kimbap barely had any fillings and mainly rice which was super disappointing to me. The presentation was nice though and it came with a side of wasabi which usually other places doesn't provide it. The spicy crab and tofu soup was pretty good but it only came out with one crab and a lot of tofu and vegetables. Wish it was more crab though. Pork belly was my favorite out of all the dishes I ordered. But again it wasn't a big portion compared to other places. The sides were pretty good. I ate mainly the sides more than my entrees. Tried this place for the first time. It is clean inside and the staff are friendly. The neighborhood is a little sketchy but the parking is ample. There is a little bit of a language barrier but sometimes that is a good sign and an indicator that the food is authentic. And yes it happens to be true here. It is easy to imagine a gaggle of ajumas in the kitchen in the back toiling over age old recipes passed down by generations and prepared for our eating pleasure as they support their children's piano/violin lessons and Ivy League school premed/prelaw college tuitions. Jay Kay but seriously the food here has that homemade taste that is reminiscent of Mom's cooking. I going to this restaurant too many time when I want to eat real Korean food I love it. Every time I went there I always got serve from the old lady I think she is the owner she very nice and kind all the time. But today I have a girl hang out with my friend our group Of 4 people. We arrived there for 3 first and asked for a table for 4. On that time they have 4 tables of customer include us. We got serving from young lady that her face not welcome at all. We talk to her very nice but she did not want to say anything to us just make face like she so annoy and pissed. We sit there almost 20 minutes without asking for a drink. I try to look at her and call her when she walk by but she pretend like she did not hear us. Until the old lady look at to us and ask her server to come check when she came to us and ask what we want? I told her can we order some drink. Suddenly she look at us and ask us that we have 4 people right? Why not waiting for 1 more coming!!! Dang !!! What a service like this??? We can not get the drink until everybody here for real??? And same she took our drink order and come back to the counter and do too many thing she can do like she very busy but can not bring us the drink. We try to calm down because we don't want to ruin our lunch. Finally we decided to order before our lady friend coming and we order too many dish for sharing and we did not get any attention to service , no refill our drink that we have to asked for , no smiling on her face only mean face when she came to us. I really don't understand about that. But for other table most of them are Korean she seem very nice and kind. But not for us. Surprisingly, B-Won did not disappoint. Besides the fishy smell that I noticed when I stepped into the restaurant, we got to taste great food while experiencing decent customer service. Also, the wait for our food to arrive was reasonable compare to other Korean restaurants I've been to. I had the japchae and Kimchi Jjigae (kimchi stew). The glass noodle didn't stick together and wasn't mushy. The japchae had a sweet and savory flavor, with nice crunchy vegetables. And the beef was tender and flavorful. Also, the portion is huge! For the kimchi stew, it was served steaming hot. I like that it wasn't insanely spicy; it was bearable. This restaurant also includes Gamja Jorim (Braised Potatoes) and seaweed salad as side dishes compared to other Korean restaurants. One minor thing is that the rice isn't soft and sticky. I got to try my cousin's soybean sprout soup. It has a light anchovy broth, and it's a type of soup you want to eat during cold weather. If I come back, I would order that. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our meal. My aunt also gave me credit this time, because according to her, I took them to not so decent restaurants the last few times. read more
