I needed a last minute cake, I've ordered from here yearssss ago so I gave them a call. I was able to email and discuss details over the phone at the same time which was great! Overall cake tasted good, I just wish the writing wasn't so sloppy :( it just seemed like they didn't care, the spacing was weird, and I sent an email of the lettering I asked for. Oh well, it did the job! (P.S it has one of our favorite movie quotes on it lol)

FACTS: I ordered a simple cake three weeks out. Was told to pick up around 9 a.m. even though they open at 7 a.m. Arrived 9:15 a.m. Cake was not ready. There were other customers waiting as well. It was not necessary for them to explain to me how busy they were and had deliveries and such. Small business or no, orders need to be filled properly and on time. They told me my cake was not yet ready. They had not added any decorations. I needed the cake for an 11 a.m. party. I settled on taking my cake bare and plain. It's a good thing I had previously ordered some decorations that I could add on my own. The cake had good flavor. It turned out beautiful, thanks to my Amazon decorations that I added. Photos show what I expected to get (bottom layer only) versus what I settled for due to necessity. I have reservations about counting on them again for future orders.

I ordered from the app Too Good to Go, which allows businesses to sell day old products for less. They offer surprise boxes for around $6. They only had one person working up front who was taking an order for a cake when I walked in. Once she got off she was sweet and provided fast and friendly service. They had cases full of pastries and I wanted to try every one! Checkered floors were cute! They also had self serve coffee. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience here, but wished they had another person at the counter.

Custom wedding cake was a hit! Came here and was met with helpful service to get a tasting for a cake I would need in two weeks time. They were able to prepare a tasting to-go that I picked up a couple days later. The amaretto was a clear favorite for both my wife and I. The second was the lemon and third was the pink champagne. We did not care for the others too much. So I'd recommend going for an amaretto cake. We went with the custard filling option with buttercream icing. It came out decorated better than expected with the provided flowers and picture I gave. It unfortunately did crack in the front and the back but wasn't a big deal to us. Some guests shared it was the best cake they had ever had. We ended up giving away the top portion of the cake simply because there was too much even though it was supposed to be for 20 or so people it could have gone for 30. I'd come back here if I needed another cake. The price was more than fair and the turnaround time was incredibly accommodating. I did manage to try the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie and I'd come here if I needed cookies baked as well.

We've purchased at least a dozen cakes over the last few years and Baker Wee has NEVER let us down. The last cake, I brought in a 50 year old cake mold (teddy bear) to be placed on top of a small layer cake. On the way home the top layer slid off. Disaster! No problem for BW. The made an entirely new base cake over night. Beyond my expectations. I just hoped they could fix the original. Cakes are delicious and always excellently done!!!

I have been going to this place forever. They're located at 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road and when I was a senior at ASU west they were right across the street so I'd pop on occasion for a sandwich or a snack. You can do everything from order wedding cakes or cakes for pretty much any occasion you can think of and have a very nice catalog. They're also sandwiches and pastries and cupcakes and brownies and all sorts of stuff. The smell of Fresh Bakery hits you as soon as you come through the door and it is wonderful. The best part about this place is they have sugar-free pies that are absolutely fantastic and for a diabetic that is a major Plus I highly recommend Bakery anybody looking for great service nice people a very nice selection and more than anything else great tasting food at a reasonable price too. Check them out.

I needed a cake for my 35th birthday somewhat last minute. I went in on Thursday to talk to them about my needs. I wasn't looking for anything too fancy. Just a cake large enough to feed 20-30 people and I wanted it to be Oreo flavored. The woman behind the counter took detailed notes on the spelling of my name, type of cake, frosting choice and the ask to have Oreos throughout. I came back on Saturday to pick up the cake. The staff seemed a bit frazzled by another customer who did not have their cake ready in time. I can't speak to that as I had a pretty simple cake order (no special designs or patterns). My cake was ready and looked beautiful. My only gripe was the box they put it in. They mentioned not having boxes tall enough to fit the round cakes. They stapled the sides, but the lid was unable to close. I was able to get it to my destination okay, but it was more stressful than it needed to be had they invested in the proper boxes to transport those cakes. At the party itself, the cake was a hit! I took the cake out an hour ahead of the party and let it sit as instructed. The cake was moist and had the perfect consistency of flavors throughout. The slices were huge and we had half a cake left after giving some to everyone at the party, plus the staff at the venue. Overall, I am very pleased with how my cake turned out and would gladly use them again in the future. Based on other reviews, they may struggle a bit with custom orders, but for a basic cake, you can't go wrong with them!

I was super disappointed and I wouldn't order another cake from here. The cake tasted yummy, but that's all I have positive to say. It was $200 which is a fair price bc it's huge but the decorating was so sloppy. I gave them a picture of a tiger, the words that I wanted it to say and creative freedom to do whatever they wanted with that. The letting literally was so smooshed together there were barely any spaces between the words. The lettering was very amateurish, I could have done it. The cake must have cracked at some point and they just put a fat line of icing down the middle to try to hide it. Like I said, the only redeemable quality was that it tasted good. That being said, so does Costco cake and it's a lot cheaper.

We preordered a custom cake for my friend's birthday! When ordering it lets you add photos for reference and i'm SO happy with how it turned out! We ordered the 8in Red Velvet Cake with Strawberry Filling. The man who was there was so nice and even added glitter for a final touch! We will be back !

Had time before work the other day and happened to be in area so I stopped in. Got a sandwich for lunch and it was very tasty. Came with pickle spear and cookie. The smell of the baked goods called my name so I had to check out the display cases. Yum, yum! The black and white cookie is the best I've tasted so far and the eclair was to die for. I bought a couple of iced butterfly cookies and gave to a co-worker who thanked me several times. Will definitely go back when in the area. Enjoy! read more

Came in with a Groupon, otherwise, I'd never have found this place--and what a find it is! Prices are excellent, quality is excellent, service is excellent. I'd suggest you use Baker Wee for alot of your cookie buying. I know I am. I love this place!!!! They are truly a great Bakery...I have ordered 10+ cakes from them and they never disappoint! I have gotten to the point that I just give them a theme...headcount and let them decorate as they are the Pro's... Never disappointed and they are always so helpful. I've been growing up eating here and had that WORST SERVICE in the entire world last time I came here! First of all we ordered two birthday cakes and one of them didn't even turn out how we wanted it to. Second of all, one of the workers tried getting the other cake out of the fridge and ruined it! I understand we all make mistakes but what really got me angry is that neither of the two ladies apologized for ruining our cake!!!!!!!!!! They didn't even bother fixing it for us!!! read more

We used to go to this place all the time for cakes and baked items. Unfortunately when the owner sold the quality went way down. The people who bought it have not kept up the same standards and they don't know how to decorate properly anymore. We stopped going and don't recommend this place to anyone now. We would reconsider if the current owners bring in professionals who can do the same quality work as the original owner. read more

Yes the Baker wee! I do love their breakfast sandwiches and coffee! If you are in the area go get a croissant sandwich with ham and cheese. Man o boy is it good! Plus Their name is funny! Great B-day cakes and stuff like that too! read more

Ordered a smash cake for my son a week prior to the date needed. Went to pick it up and they never made it. They said the would quickly make it and it would be ready in 30 minutes. Over an hour later we were able to pick up a cake. Got home about 10 minutes before the party started. The taste was okay. Definitely not the same as this bakery used to be. I'll be on the lookout for a new bakery. read more

They did our wedding cake, anniversary cake (a fresh one instead of freezing the top - genius!), and most recently, our gender reveal cake. Would highly recommend Baker Wee if you're looking for a custom cake that's definitely affordable. read more

Although they were very friendly and helpful, I was not impressed for the price I paid...very plain! I've had better cakes with more detail at Albertson's for a lot less. I specifically asked for no fondant but it still ended up getting put on the cake and the icing wasn't good at all. The filling was good, though. I've never had any other food there so I can't speak for that...but I won't be ordering from them again. read more

Was in a mood for cupcakes and through Yelp I received a free one with a purchase so I got a brownie and milk I ate the brownie right away very good and rich loves the chocolate on top. Than when I got home I had the cupcake it was nice and soft and good. I do wish they had more selection of cupcakes but I do love that they have all kinds of bakery goods. read more

Oh em gee. Baker Wee has some of the best cookies I've ever tasted! Why can't this place open up in Scottsdale? Well, on second thought, never mind- that would be to my waistline's detriment! Anyway, I happened to be in this part of town for a volunteer event at ASU West and stopped in this bakery on a whim. I ordered a few large sugar cookies, a few small thumb print cookies with vanilla frosting, and lemon, carrot cake, and pink champagne cake balls. Everything was scrumptious!! The cookies were perfection. Really sweet & delicious. Loved the frosting on the thumb print cookies. The lemon cake ball was moist & so intensely flavored! Yummm! I loved the pink champagne flavor as well. The carrot cake one was good too. The cake inside the cake ball by itself was amazing-but I think a cream cheese frosting would taste better than the vanilla they used. All in all though, everything was fantastic. And reasonably priced IMO! Highly recommend the sweet treats of Baker Wee! read more

I've been to this shop twice. Today, I brought home an apple turnover to my husband, who is very difficult to please as far as pastries go. He says the turnover was one of the best he'd ever had - tasted like it was made within the hour. The muffins got his approval too and not overly greasy. My turnover was also great and I've had a few other items from here. I love pastries and these do not disappoint. I also really like the atmosphere and the feel that you are visiting a family owned bakery. As another reviewer pointed out you aren't going to get anything other than drip coffee here, but I don't go for fancy coffee. Regular coffee goes just fine with their treats. read more

Hosted a baby shower this past weekend, and a friend offered to bring the cake. She asked for suggestions on the cake and bakeries, and I've ordered a few cakes from them, and my daughter wedding cake was done by them, so I thought the baby shower cake would be good as well. It was better than good, it was awesome!!! They matched the picture that my friend brought in exactly, and the cake and frosting were the best I've ever had! I ordered my wedding cake through Baker Wee. The cake was delicious, it looked gorgeous. It was a perfect cake but when it was delivered, our florist said there was a hole on the side of the cake so they had to take the flowers and move them to over the hole. I didn't notice anything looking at it from the front but once I saw the back I was able to see where the hole was. That's why I gave a 4 star eating BUT overall, I was pleased with the taste and the way it came out. Exactly how I wanted(other than the hole) I will definitely recommend them. My husband is very picky on cakes, and he loved the way it tasted also read more

I have gotten many cakes from Baker Wee and never been disappointed!! I recently called just to see if they had a German Chocolate cake as a regular cake in the bakery ready for pick up. Although they didn't, their customer service was phenomenal and were able to get me out of my bind, and able to accommodate my last minute request. This was my first time ordering a cake from here and it will be my last. I ordered a cake for a very special occasion, I asked for a beige cake with white flowers, pink and mauve flowers. The cake had RED flowers!!! Not to mention, the cake was not done well, there were air bubbles all over! When I picked it it, the employee said there were no managers. I've been trying to reach a manager and have had no luck. It is now 3 weeks and no call back. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Save your money and go elsewhere. Please. read more

I called the good folks here at B-W on short notice seeking a cake for a birthday. They were awesome and made the cake upon short notice. I collected it at 3 pm, it looked beautiful, a Black Forest, size small, but the best was yet to come - the eating. Now, I was a baker, and my mother was a great baker also, thus my bar is high and unfortunately I have been let down many times with over-sweet nasty store bought cakes. But not this time. Baker Wee delivered a moist, balanced cake with superior ingredients and flavor. Rich dark chocolate, mocked cream perfectly crafted and applied - not too much - not too little. A filling of expertly marinated dark cherries that popped with flavor and color and again the balance of sweet/salt. My next cake from these experts will be a German Chocolate cake ... I cant wait to order it from this fantastic bakery. read more

Went into this location today the cake wasn't ready on time I asked if I can sit in my car they said they come out and get me when it was ready. At this point they proceeded to rush and finish the cake and did a horrible job my picture looked like complete trash wasn't even centered in the cake I will no longer go to this location and I do not recommend anybody wasting the money on people you don't care about their customers. Not to mention I sat in my car for over 30 minutes and no one came to get me. read more

In the past we have always had great service for a great product, but that changed this morning, I went in to order a 8"cake for a birthday. They said they needed 72 hour notice. I asked about the grab and go cakes. I was told they were baked two days ago. Since I needed the cake for tomorrow I asked if there would be fresh cakes tomorrow that could be picked up. I was told no. I stated by then the cakes would be 4 days old in the fridge. The employee stated "I think they should still be pretty good". For a minimum of $35 I would expect more than "pretty good". Please check the bake date on the grab and go cakes to avoid disappointment. I went to another bakery who could accommodate me. I am so sad that the customer service has gone down hill so much! read more

I've given this bakery a 5 star review on Facebook in the past but today, I want to give another on here. I stopped at the bakery yesterday and the clerk wasn't able to help me. Today, they delivered complementary cupcakes to my house. This is above beyond normal customer satisfaction. I've bought a few cakes there and lots of cupcakes and I simply love them. One of the owners took my order and since I was out if town offered to send me a pic of the cake before they delivered. They did, the cake was beautiful and all reviews of the cake were excellent! This place is GREAT!! I got a couple of cakes here for BIG event and Laura (the owner) never lets us down!! I always have people from my parties asking where i get my cake from..and they LOVE it!! Her flavors are amazing!! Whatever you want on a cake Laura will do anything to make the cakes just what you want. She really takes pride in her work and it shows!! My bf recently threw me a surprise party and he went and got me a zebra designed cake with yummy amaretto filling and whipped cream topping!! it was mmmm GOOOOOOD!!! =P Highly recommend this place!!! : ) read more

I decided to visit Baker Wee today as they seemed to be willing to work our issue out. I was prepared for a hard time, though. I took my laptop with me to show them the pictures I had taken up close of the cake. I first met with Cody (Candace) and she totally saw the cake my husband brought home was clearly not similar to the example cake that had been emailed. Cody was extremely nice. She went and got Laura and when she saw my pictures she, too, agreed that the cake didn't turn out per directions on my receipt. My cake issue was totally resolved with no conflict. Quite the opposite, both gals were as nice as they could be. I've been dealing with Laura for years and have never had an unpleasant moment with her. It's true, there are new owners but the same staff. I'm not sure what exactly went wrong with my cake but both Cody and Laura assured me there would never be a problem again. I'm extremely happy we resolved everything. I believe strongly in supporting "mom & pop" small businesses and I will continue giving my business to Baker Wee. I'm doubting the bad reviews about rudeness and refusal to refund! I'm also having a hard time believing the bad pics that have been posted. I had just the opposite experience! Would I recommend Baker Wee to my friends? You bet!! Thank you Cody and Laura and I look forward to many more years of bringing my celebration cake needs to you to bake and decorate!! read more

One week pior to my event, I called the bakery and was told I shouldn't order my cake too early or the order may get lost. I showed up the next day to order my custom made cake and paid in full for scheduled pick up the following week. I showed up on agreed time to pick up cake and I can see the girl in the back of the bakery with her hands going up and down in the air. She came out to tell me that not only is there no cake but she cannot even find the order! Yep, she warned me in my initial call that the order would get lost! I guess I'm not the only one this has happened to! Lame AF and I will have one disappointed teenager when she sees she didn't get the special cake she asked for on her birthday. I have been going into Baker Wee bakery for many years now and have always admired the exquisite custom cakes awaiting pick up in the refrigerators. Recently, I ordered a unicorn cake for my granddaughter's birthday. I ordered the cake and provided the photo of the cake and the decorator stated that they would "make the cake exactly like the photo." I even paid "in full" at the time of order because I had only the highest expectations for this bakery based on the cakes that I had seen there. On the day of the party I picked up the cake at 11am as arranged and loaded it in the truck. As I was driving I looked closer at the cake and realized the discrepancies. I even pulled over on the 303 to pull up the photo that I had provided and noticed that the horn looked more like a candle than a horn (nothing like the photo), the mane consisted of three colors; green, pink, and white, and did not come down and around like the cake in the photo which consisted of every pastel color in the rainbow. Also, the cake was white so I was confused as to why white was one of the colors in the mane. The eyes had no eyelashes and the gold frosting was smeared on the cake from an obvious mistake that had not been corrected. I was extremely disappointed and distraught as to what I could do at this late time. I was to deliver the cake in 30 minutes with my granddaughter expecting a unicorn cake, all of her decorations were unicorn themed at the party, and here I sat on the 303 trying to consider what my options were; which were none at this point. I took the cake on to the party, but everyone there agreed that the cake ordered was nothing like the cake I received. My daughter and I even had to try and fix the smeared gold mistake the best we could. I e-mailed the two photos to my friend in Tennessee who owns a cake decorating bakery and her words to quote exactly were, "they did a terribly awful job, and I would have not ever allowed such a poor quality cake to leave my shop." She went on to state that the unicorn cake has been quite popular and she has made many just like the photo that I submitted at time of order. Needless to say, I trusted that Baker Wee would make an exquisite cake for our special event and they did not meet my expectations. I still do not understand how the decorator could even think that the cake she decorated looked like the photo of the cake provided. Unfortunately, this was the first time and will be the last time that I order a custom cake from this bakery. Buyer beware, especially if you provide a photo....this is quite alarming! read more

I was in search of the perfect cake for the baby shower of my first grandbaby (a girl). My daughter (who was hosting the shower) chose a "Despicable Me" theme for my daughter-in-law (mom to be). The cake would be a 3D type which the local store bakeries were not able to provide. I had not used a bakery before so the search went to the internet. I located two bakeries that had reviews and photos of 3D type cakes, so both were in the running. I contacted both Pixy Cakes (Avondale) and Baker Wee (closer to my home). I spoke to each on the phone and felt the customer service with Baker Wee was very warm, friendly and caring (thank you Holly). They listened to what I was saying patiently and worked with me. I emailed a photo of a similar cake for their review and decided to visit their location to check it out further. I was greeted by Alicia. She had a copy of the photo I had sent via email and the notes from my conversation with Holly previously (shows they are organized-I liked that). I was offered a taste of the cakes, frosting & fillings (I had narrowed it down to strawberry and raspberry). They were all delicious. The cake so tasty and moist. Alicia was very patient and provided input as well (experience speaking). When she asked if I would like fairy dust on the items and showed me a sample, yes to my delight. I ordered a marble cake with strawberry filling (in the shape of a baby minion from the movie). I also ordered a dozen cupcakes (6 chocolate and 6 white) which would be placed around the main cake. The cost of the main cake came in at $100.00 less than the other bakery (I felt the other bakery was WAY overpriced). The cost was not the only deciding factor in my choice of which bakery to use. It was the complete package. On pickup day, I arrived at the bakery and was so thrilled when I saw what they created for the special event. I knew I had made the right choice. It turned out perfect. The shape, the color, the fairy dust, everything. They packed it securely and put the items in my vehicle with great care, It made it to my destination safely. My family and the guests were all ecstatic about the cake and as impressed as I was. My son said, "that is the coolest cake mom". It was definitely the focal point of the shower and pulled in the theme of the shower so nicely. I knew I had made the right choice. Now I can say I have a bakery and can comfortable recommend it wholeheartedly to others. read more

This place has gone down hill. Used to be our family bakery of choice. NO MORE - we will go to another bakery from now on. Rude employees, terrible customer service, bad quality and cakes that look like they were made by a child. My niece ordered a cake from here recently and she was in tears when she left the store. The cake did not look like the photo provided. She had to take the cake becuase the party was in a few hours. The cake was UGLY (did not look like the photo provided) - was dry and fell apart as we cut it. Baker Wee used to be great - a lot of the old staff is gone. Well as most people know by now, the scum who owned the business closed their doors with our money. No phone call, or e-mail, just stole our money. Laura who used to own the business many years ago, would be apauled and how her customers were treated. You knew you were closeing and did not have the decency to let people know or refund their money. You simply lied and stole. We ordered my wedding cake from here, and Lora was so wonderful in helping us come to a solid decisions e could be really pleased with! Despite our cake being rather unique and untraditional, just looking at it you could see the care and passion that was put into it! Everyone at our wedding was so pleased and blown away by how delicious it was! I highly recommend everyone just try it, the prices are a bit steep but the quality really lets you know it is worth it! read more

Really Bad. Other people were ok with their order. I might have liked mine too if they had remembered to make it. I called to make sure it was ready and they still threw something together last minute and lied to me about it. Extremely disorganized with horrible customer service in general. Everyone was really rude and lastly, they overcharged me for it. Not going back, be careful if you do. read more

It is amazing I love everything that got in there and you will be satisfied or whatever you get. They created this beautiful cake for us in less than a week, as it was short notice. We gave them complete executive control in the design, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for gorgeous cakes for any occasion. They were wonderful to work especially Emily, who I am sorry to report no longer works there..
