I by chance found B cupcakes right after they opened years ago. I have since moved away but when I visit FL I stop and get cupcakes. So you can only imagine my disappointment this past week when my daughter surprised me and got me 2 dozen to enjoy. unfortunately the cupcakes were dry, overcooked and tasted as though they were cooked the day before. I did call and was told they ( the girl on the phone who called the owner) would either give me $30 store credit for future orders or refund a dozen $48 back to my daughters card. The cupcakes are not cheap and should taste much better than I received . seeing I don't plan to go back I asked for the credit card refund. That didn't happen and was only refunded $30. Im very disappointed in the service from B cupcakes and unfortunately will have to try a new place. It seems the workers are high school students who don't care about good service. The young lady who was talking to me in the phone was rude and tried to blame me for the issue. Sorry B cupcakes, you lost a customer. read more

This review is based on the cupcakes only, I haven't had a chance to stop by the place since somebody else picked it up.. My friend's husband bought home a box full of gourmet cupcakes from B's the other night. Excitement took over me so he was nice enough to hand me over 2 cupcakes, the chocolate raspberry along with the chocolate peanut butter. From the first bite I automatically noticed the smooth soft cake along with the rich creamy cream cheese based frosting. I swear the moist cake reminded me of velvet and the frosting was so whippy. The chocolate raspberry had tiny chocolate chips on top of this smooth creation and was flavor infused with raspberries, def will come back for this. The chocolate peanut butter had tiny pieces of reeces pieces and was sent from chocolate heaven. Whoever baked these cupcakes deserves a hug. Gotta love the sweet life =] read more

Yes yes yes! I'm so glad I found this place! I only bought one cupcake but I will definitely be back for more. I had the white chocolate raspberry. It was better than how amazing it already sounds. I stopped in to get a cup cake on the way to the park. When I said to go. They had the perfect container for one cupcake to go. I usually make a mess eating a cupcake. This time no mess! B's cupcakes are great and I have been buying them since they opened. Last Saturday, I did not have a good experience. I asked the woman what flavor the cupcakes with the lime green rosette frosting were. She told me they were Salted Caramel and someone was practicing with making rosettes. I was pretty excited about a cupcake joint near my house. The decor is really cute and clean. They had a lot of different flavors. I don't like chocolate cake so my choices were more limited, but in my opinion that just helped me decide. I finally choose Pumpkin and Salted Caramel cupcakes. The girl that helped me was pretty helpful, but I am pretty sure that they are ALL her favorite! I took them home and they were pretty good. the cake was moist and yummy. There was too much frosting in my opinion and I ended up tossing about half of it, but it was really good too. I just have a sensitive stomach when it comes to sugar. For years I have driven by the Winter Park location and told myself that I would eventually end up there, given that cupcakes are my top favorite dessert. Unfortunately they closed down. Once I learned of this location I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try their sweets! Their red velvet is of a great quality. I was thoroughly impressed. However; quality of food is not the only important attribute in a business (I have this knowledge since I come from a large family of entrepreneurs.) Customer service is one of the most important attributes. Unfortunately, my first time visit was not pleasant :( A young brunette was working the store yesterday early afternoon. She was not very pleasant. Perhaps she had a bad day? Either way, her demeanor was rude and she did not make me feel welcome. I'm not a huge fan of cupcakes but I'm always interested in the variety of flavors these guys put out. I have tried other bakeries but it's not common to find a bakery which just does one thing so comparing is difficult. I would have to say that I can only compare them to the level of baking I find at Publix. I really like Publix cupcakes, the ones with the whipped cream type of icing. B's cupcakes use the cream cheese type of icing but it is light and fluffy. The cakes are moist and I've yet to have a stale one. My favorites are the German Chocolate, Sweet Potato, B's original (either version) and the Lemon Zest. The Keylime, the Banana, Chocoholic, Salted Carmel and the Chocolate Raspberry are all good 2nd place in my book. The others I don't really care for, but to each is their own. Overall the quality has always been good, but it's a little pricey for a cupcake so I don't go here often unless I have a coupon or they have a special sale (like $1 per cupcake day). read more

Love the fact that they can email my receipt to me - way to keep your transactions on the modern tip! $3 a cupcake may be a stretch but these little cakes of joy are worth it. Im surprised I hadnt reviewed this sweet shop esp since I use to come here often (before trying to be healthy)...this cupcake shop sells a variety of flavored cupcakes and have seasonal offerings. My favorite flavors are keylime, carrot, red velvet, and strawberry. During holidays they usually offer seaonal flavors like pumpkin during fall, peppermint or gingerbread during "winter", etc. They seemed to have become more popular so their cupcake prices went up, they use to only be 3 dollars per cupcake but now they are 3.50?...They do offer $2 dollar Tuesday specials but their seasonal or alcohol flavored cupcakes are exempt from that deal. You can also get mini cupcakes for cheaper and they offer a deal for larger quantities such as 6 cupcakes, half a dozen or more. If you need a large number of cupcakes I highly suggest ordering in advance because they may not always have the flavors you want in the quantity you need. If you want to purchase a cake those must be ordered as they are only stocked with cupcakes and may not have full size cakes available for walk in purchase. Also they offer a customer reward, every time you spend at least 6 dollars you earn a point/star or whatever they call it to be able to get free cupcake after a select number of visits. Overall this cupcake place fulfills those sweet cravings...you may need milk! read more

A little disappointed. Went to get lunch today and saw the shop. Figured they have been there for some time now I will give it a shot. None of the 3 girls at the counter said hello. We walked to the display and the girl was very nice and answered the questions we had. There was a fly buzzing around in the case we pointed out and she swatted it around some. We picked out one cupcake and a different girl rang us up. All she said was the total and never said another word. When she handed back the change she turned to the other girl and kept talking. Having sampled the local offerings in this particular baking genre, we must concur that B Cupcakes wins this battle. The store looks on the surface quite simple and plain. Sort of hidden in a plaza in Apopka. Her cupcakes might not have the clever pun filled names of some. Her employees aren't clad in hipster approved suspenders and driving caps. (Yes I am looking at you food truck) To put simply, this woman can bake her ass off!! She arrives at her store well before the sun rises to share with us her cupcake craft. All freshly baked daily. Have tried probably 10 different varieties to date. All with equally delicious results. Her cupcakes are beautifully balanced. Amazing moist cake, and off the chain buttercream and cream cheese based frostings. My personal favorites were the strawberry, banana, and lemon coconut. Peanut butter chocolate was equally awesome along with the sweet potato. My better half has yet to find here fav, and feels another dozen might be called for for further narrowing down. I absolutely HATE this shop! I went there to get cupcakes for a friend and I specifically asked for the ones without (nuts, lemon and strawberries). However, I was given the wrong ones and my friend had a terrible reaction to them. It totally ruined her birthday and the owner was not even kind enough to offer a refund over the phone knowing it was THEIR mistake and that I lived 35 minutes away.. Worst experience ever!!! They made us drive back to the store to process a refund and did not even have the decency to speak to me over the phone. Stay away!! The employees don't know what they are doing. read more

My family and I were über fans of your cupcakes. We would completely forget about our healthy eating and indulge in your delicious cupcakes. It seems to us the recipes have changes as of late. The icing is not as rich and it has a more whipped consistency. The flavors are not there anymore. B's cupcakes...been going here for special occasions-safe to say once or twice a year...I was excited that my mom wanted to grab cupcakes from here for my bday/family dinner. My #1 choice alone with my aunt's was the kahlua cupcake. Unfortunately when we opened the box my mom said the order looked wrong so I referenced the post card provided. One of the errors appeared to be my kahlua cupcake. There were two cupcakes in the box that were choc-on-choc like the kahlua however they didn't have the white shavings on top of them. These looked much more like the chocolate cupcake and so that is what they were deemed. When my mom went to complain about that error along with the other, she was told they never make a mistake or confuse the cupcakes and that the post card is old. Now, being a small business with little to no marketing I would think you'd go with the mindset that the customer is always right rather than tell them-this is a good one too-that everyone's taste buds are different and maybe we just didn't taste the kahlua. First off not our fault that you're providing us with old marketing pictures of how your cupcakes used to be presented, and second off you charge $.50 more on a cupcake that you say I may not even taste the flavor I'm requesting. Seems a little shady to me. I not try the chocolate on my birthday because I wanted kahlua. Then the only offer of "condolence" to my mom was a $3 coupon, although the error was made on two of them. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere and be sure to share my experience with others. The owner of B's Cupcakes, "Miss Sheila" emailed me shortly after I posted my "review" on Yelp and various other social media sites. She asked that I call her. We never actually spoke - couldn't ever seem to get her on the phone - but her insurance company called and I was sent a check shortly there after for the cost of the out of pocket expense for my daughters x-rays. While I was happy to be reimbursed, I do not think we will be returning to the store. It should not have taken social media to elicit a response and the whole situation was handled poorly. "Miss Sheila" claimed she never received any of my phone messages prior to my postings. If that is truly the case, she needs to have a chat with her employees or perhaps get new ones. read more

I wish I could write a review about the quality of the desserts provided at this place but I didn't make it past the extremely poor and rude customer service during the ordering process. The communication was poor to begin with. I was told to email my order with specifics and when I got no reply ( not sure about the response turnaround) I called in to place the order. I spoke to with Megan that afternoon who took my order and quoted the price of the cake. Later that same day I received an email from someone else asking me questions that had already been given and then quoted a different price. I called twice to inquire about the change and pay for the cake. No answer. Later in the evening I received a call stating I was misquoted, this is the new price and could I pay a deposit. In the middle of asking to speak with the boss another girl, Kaley, was placed on the phone without warning or notification. Talk about RUDE ‼ After ensuing an argument with the customer, I asked that the boss call me. Customers should not have to pay for the error of an employee. Poor Megan they threw her right under the bus. She's new and was in training. Well where was her trainer when she was taking my order? After being told that if "paying wasn't a problem what was my issue", I decided to take my business elsewhere. I couldn't even trust a cake coming from that place with that staff in place. You can have the best cakes in the country but with the customer service like that so many people will never know. I'm just one customer. How many others are out there? I'll take my little dollar to someone else. I don't even care if I have to pay more if the service is better. The person who referred me said she will never do business with them again. read more

so happy that apopka has a cupcake place! and these are super yummy too. picked up a sampler of flavors for a birthday party and all were delicious. the strawberry cupcake - taste like a strawberry. they definitely have the flavors down pat. my only concern is the packaging. i had nine cupcakes that were put in the same box without anything in the base that would prevent the cupcakes from sliding around. when i got to my destination the cupcakes were butted up to each other on one side of the box which caused the icing to mix with each other and the shape of the icing to be distorted. that said, it doesn't change my opinion of the cupcakes. they are de-lish and i will be back for more! read more
